Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
SUNDAY
no subject
How he wishes he could still have that attitude.
If you think that Cherryblod will spend all of Sunday checking out the new floor... you're wrong, for two reasons.
One is that nothing he finds there really interests him. He will spend most of the morning flitting between the chapel, shooting range, and bar, but it's clear he's looking for weak points or other noteworthy/suspicious parts of the rooms rather than their intended purpose.
(He does drink, but mostly to celebrate. He's not celebrating now.)
His afternoon is spent in the music room, where he's... humming a lot, mostly. He hums the first few bars of a song and then attempts to mimic it on the ukelele. Then, when that doesn't work out to his satisfaction, he tries again, with a slightly different note here or there. Then he tries again. And again.
He's determined, at least, but this isn't working very well.]
music room
he... kind of has to think about this for a moment. A shrimp person playing the ukelele.
He's got to break the silence eventually.]
....You know, I've never played an instrument myself. [sure let's go with that]

"...Artificial Intelligence."
"Peace in our time.")
Bruce doesn't know if he should feel better or worse when he wakes up with those new dreams in his head. Better should be the answer here, but...
What happened just two days ago continues to weigh heavily in his mind.
For pretty much the entire day Bruce continues to stay inside in his own room, somehow managing to get food from the kitchens (or the storage) when there's nobody there to see him. It certainly seems like Bruce is dead set on not meeting anybody else in the Vault--
At least until after nighttime; should somebody come onto the game room that person will see Bruce sitting on whatever is closest to the shrine that Yosuke and the others had made in honor of Yato and Mion, looking tired and entirely worn out as he stares at it. Feel free to approach him, although his responses may not be what you're hoping for.
...after that Bruce then can be found in the hallways on the way back to room 9. He's still not exactly open for conversation, but at the same time it's not like he has any other way back to his room.]
TECHNICALLY OUTSIDE HIS ROOM AND PROBABLY NOT GONNA BE A THREAD BUT YOU KNOW WHAT
...he slips a note under Bruce's door.]
There's a plate of spring rolls for you in the refrigerator. If someone else eats them, tell me so I can be extremely cross with them in person.
IT WORKS

The fabric was Yato's, after all; one of those scarves that he tended to wear over his robes.
He's aware of Bruce being there, though he doesn't say anything to him right away; he'll be there, though, for the sake of conversation should Bruce be up to it. Should he not, then that's fine as well; he doesn't particularly care either way.]

Re: SUNDAY
Aaaaahaaaa! Look at all this!
[Yeah, he just shouted that, highly pleased. He goes straight to the shelves, eyeing the collection of booze. Anyone could see this is the most excited he has been since they got into the Vault.
You may find him with a large glass of that nameless beer, and from the looks of his slightly reddened face, this was definitely not the first glass]

'I knew, I knew it wasn't over!'
He goes charging through the hallways like he's late for anime school, eyes wide and face set in a determined a not 100% stable grin, possibly almost spilling some of his 'roommates' over in his drive. Sorry, he won't stop until he hits the stairs, launching himself over the railing and half climbing and half literally climbing them up to the fourth floor.
And when he reaches the new floor he's practically crowing with something almost like victory.]
I knew it, I knew it you sonvabitch!!
[Young Man Yells at Ceiling]
Ha... haha-!
[He half tumbles down the stairs again, checking where the third floor stairs turns into the fourth to make sure the staircase is one solid piece and form- that the stairs couldn't have descended from the ceiling and somehow... he's not sure, snapped together. Once he has his answer he makes his way back up and leans against the wall... eventually sliding down to hide his manic laughter (which is less laughter the longer is goes) into his knees.
Just be glad there's no hot tub, or he might have tried to drown himself in it]

But he's not going to be in there forever; he had promised Yato that he would sparkle up the place, and it seems he's determined to do so, one room at a time; seeing as the music room is usually his thing, that's where he's going to be in the evening – if he's not ensuring the place is just about as covered in glitter and color as he can render it, he's at the piano again, practicing...god only knows what. He's getting better at it, anyway, if only because it's something to do with himself.
Outwardly, he's seeming a little better today; god only knows if that's consistent with whatever's going through his head, especially since Sunday is the morning when everyone wakes up after having had some bizarre dream or another. Either way, outside of the general decorating he's been doing in here (courtesy of the art room), one of the sections of wall seems largely out of place – he's left the concrete mostly bare, but there's a large symbol painted directly onto it.
Otherwise, though...well after nighttime hours he can be found in the shooting range on the fourth floor, though he doesn't seem interested in using the actual archery materials. Despite that, his current activity doesn't seem to be the sort of thing you want to startle him at – he's standing a good distance away from the targets with several of those palette knives from upstairs in his hands. Which would normally be fine, given that palette knives are usually not capable of doing much to anything that isn't canvas, seeing as they're not really sharpened at all – except when he sends one of them zinging across the room, it sinks into the target almost obscenely easily.
...Looks like he's been sharpening them. A lot.
That said, he doesn't seem satisfied with the hit – it wasn't bad, but he's still seeming sort of irritated. Probably because it's the first thing he's actually hit in a while, if the scrapemarks in the wall behind the setup are any indication.
He still has absolutely no depth perception, but damn if he isn't going to do something with himself.]

...it's not even the sirens that wake him up today. In fact, it's a long while before the sirens go off that he wakes up, kind of panting and sweating. That... was one of those things, wasn't it? Like clockwork, they've hit sometime Saturday night into Sunday every week... and Sigrun had basically confirmed they weren't dreams.
...there's no way he's going back to sleep after that. He sort of lays in bed for a while, trying to get the image of the Avatar preparing to... probably immolate him out of his mind... but he can't. He keeps thinking about it because she would, but he can't be dead, can he? No, he does have...
...
It wouldn't just leave a relatively small electrical burn. That can't be the last of what he's missing.
...it's a good thing the walls are soundproof so that no one hears the incredible "FUCK!" he just let out. Well, there's absolutely no getting back to sleep after that, so he takes a very... very long shower, makes himself presentable, and goes out to make breakfa--oh. The... door's still closed.
Well, he'll wait around outside of the kitchen until it opens, at which point he's going to furiously make breakfast to keep his mind off of the fact that things apparently went to hell and he doesn't know how badly they went to hell, but they did, and after Yato--
...There's a new floor. Let's consider that instead. What is the chapel. What is this for? ...Meditating? Yeah, that'd be real excellent if he was the Chief or someone who actually cared. Maybe there's something else in there, though? He'll start investigating that before he does anything else. Next is oh thanks Kingmaker the shooting range is exactly what he wanted to deal with today, thanks for ---

Now he knows why there's a "Leo" under his likes. That's embarrassing and he's glad that no one here knows him, at all. Thank you god. It also gives him a brand new set of worries, but he hasn't been missing any time here (just like that guy hasn't been talking to him at all), so he sets them aside in favor of tidying up his room for a few hours and getting his bearings in order.
It's around one in the afternoon when he finally emerges from his room; he heads up to the new floor to check it out (because of course there's a new one, why wouldn't there be) and... oh, a chapel.
...and a bar. But oh, a chapel. He books it downstairs as fast as he can without outright killing himself on the way, ducking into his room for a moment and emerging with his maidenly carry-on bag. It's what holds all his sewing stuff, okay. Back upstairs he goes, temporarily stopping by the sewing room to pick up a few more things along with bear and cat patterns, before he settles in one of the pews and gets to work.
He can be found here stitching most of the day, cutting thread and fabric carefully; there's a lot of gentleness put into these remakes, because once he's done with them (a good bit of time later, he ain't an expert here) he's setting them up on the raised area.
Zagibear and Kamuikuma. Teddy Bearl and Mermaid Carenbear. Black Nyato and Meown. Better than their other tries, even if some of them seem a little too stuffed and some ears are a little out of place (among other details), but he's getting better! Thanks Yato.
...once he's made sure those aren't going to immediately fall over, Black can be found in the bar, apparently looking for something. (He's looking for actually good whiskey.) There's a good bit up alcohol set up on the counter as he roots through it, frowning. Where's his namesake, dammit. "Obsidian & Ivory" doesn't cut it. ]

[Stan wakes with a phantom ache in his jaw and an all-too-real weight in his gut.
Stupid. Stupid, why had he ever thought things would work out in the end? He should've known better last week. It seems selfish to be angry about it now - wasn't Ford right? Wasn't it all his fault anyway? But after thirty years of his life, you'd think he'd come out with at least a little something.
He wanders into the kitchen, but only stays long enough to eat a few slices of toast. He's too restless now to stand around and make real breakfast, and once the food is gone he's quick to retreat to the incinerator room to punch the yeti some. This time, his blows are rather more vicious.
The fourth-floor investigation lasts only as long as it takes Stan to find the bar. He'll spend most of the rest of the day there, drinking beer from the taps before eventually moving on to the unlabeled liquor. It wasn't something he could've done before; the kids were still there, the Shack needed taken care of, and no one could know how the summer would end for him. It'd only upset them. That's fine; it's not like he ever really talked to anyone anyway. He's sure he handled it all just fine, whatever happened. But here?
Fuck it. Doesn't matter.]

... Yes. That's right. I was stupid and helped Xehanort do it.
It feels like a cruel joke.
I'm asking you, as a friend... Just... put an end to me.
When Aqua wakes up, she's even more rattled than the past weeks.
Go take what Ventus owes you. And take Aqua's life.
It's hard to mistake that voice for anyone else's. Aqua looks back on the dream--no, the nightmare, because it makes her feel sick to think about it--and there's a bitter taste in her mouth. How foolish she'd been, to trust him. He'd been someone she admired, and he-- wanted to kill her.
It's just a dream, she tells herself, but she can still feel the heat of the X-Blade as it destroyed itself. She can still feel the pain of slamming against solid rock. And she can still feel the absolute horror at seeing Ventus...
... Anyway. She explores the new floor, for the most part--Aqua stays away from the bar, but she's interested in the shooting range. She's not a bad shot, either.
Later in the day, she makes her way to the sewing room. Aqua's getting better at making things--namely, clothes for those stuffed animals on which Black has been working so diligently.
And in the evening, after she's grabbed a bit of dinner (she eats it in the dining hall, if you'd like to join her) the door to room 15 will be open a crack. Aqua's lugged down quite a few puzzles from the game room. Maybe you'd like to join her...? ]

"Huh..? Oh, yes...very much."
"But you admire Kira, too?
"?! Y-yes..."
"Then which do you like more? Light-kun or Kira?"
"Obviously Light! I'm thankful to Kira, and at one point I wanted to meet him, but that's not love. I totally choose Light!"
"Then, if you could help Light-kun, you'd want to join the investigation and assist him, right?"
"Yes! Misa-Misa would do anything to be of use to Light!"
Her memories are still a jumble. This guy Ryuzaki, creepy as can be, handcuffed to Light, interrogating her...what could his connection with the Kira case be? Is he a friend or a foe? She doesn't remember talking to him prior to this, and everything's a blur, but, it seems like he wants to get her involved in the Kira case on a more personal level. She's still keeping that on the hush-hush, but...she still doesn't have her eyes in these memories. She can't see his name...can she really trust him?
"Misa Amane's guts and her love for Light-kun are the greatest in the world."
...Well, creepy-looking as he is, he doesn't seem all that bad. But this just opens up more questions...did this happen before, or after that interview with Yotsuba? If she assumes the interview was her way of getting closer to this Yotsuba-Kira, then, this makes sense, but...hrm. ]
Woaaah...
[ She needed a quiet place to mull it over, and the atmosphere in here...it's awesome. Misa finds herself in the chapel, and though it can use a bit of decoration, a few silver crosses, a couple of stained glass windows...this is her goddamn aesthetic. ]
Look at this place! It's so cool!
[ Though she...doesn't quite seem to have grasped the concept of reverence... ]
Hey, hey! Do you think we can set up candles in here and set up vigils and stuff?! That'd be awesome!

"I read somewhere that wolves are clean animals. They don't kill close to their lair unless they're forced to."
"What lair? What are you talking about?"
"Not sure, actually. Random thought."
That.... probably could have gone better. But at least in the end, he got what he wanted: a private conversation with the man working on the escaped wolves case.
Still, he can't help but feel unsettled, now that he remembers more about the case he was working on.
His first stop after breakfast is the chapel. Gabriel is not a religious man, but there's still.... something about chapels in general. He finds it to be a calming presence; he isn't doing anything in particular in here as he's not praying exactly, but he is writing in a notebook.
In the evening, Gabriel makes his way to the bar just to see what there is to drink. Hopefully it tastes better than German beer.]

so, his day is starting off just grand, folks. he halfheartedly eats a light breakfast before going off to explore the new area. pointedly ignores the chapel, not all too interested in the shooting range-- he's about to write the whole area off as a wash when he sees the bar.
and then, well. his life still sucks. but, his life sucks with booze. and that's a vast improvement.
so, about an hour later, he's still in the bar, though with a half-empty bottle of what he thinks is whiskey and a significantly better outlook on life. and he's playing something a bit more modern (for him) and upbeat on that piano, because fuck it, life is short and we're all gonna fucking die.]
