WEEK 4 And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. [ It certainly wasn't his idea of a shooting range that's for sure-- bows and crossbows were far from his preferred type of weapon. Still, Aiden eventually deems it worth checking out in detail when he comes across Mettaton.]

Not half bad.

Normally I'd tell you that of course it's not - but really, I could use the work.

[At least he's aware that he normally is not great with this! One of the few things he is not naturally exceptional at. It's like finding a rare and mystical unicorn.]

It's improvement, anyway.

Don't know if I'd do any better, these aren't my type of weapons. [Looking over at the crossbows.]

It's not a bad way to pass time here, in any case.

It feels more productive than some of the other things we've been given!

[With the exception of the art and music rooms, of course, because creativity is Important and otherwise he'd have gone stir-crazy by now.]

What's your weapon of choice normally, darling? I'm curious.

[Well they're at a shooting range, so he's going to go with the obvious answer.]

Pistols, among other things.

Interesting... I've never been one for guns, myself.

Projectiles, of course! But not guns - we don't really have much need for them, where I'm from.

Explosives and electricity, usually!

Celebrities here are a lot more interesting than the ones in Chicago. [Misa also comes to mind.]

What are they like where you're from, then? Please don't tell me they're the boring ones that script everything.

I try my best to stay out of it, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't brag about explosions. Obsessed with looks and money, the usual.

Well, there's nothing wrong with that either - it's a great perk of the job, and our looks and our money are what make people love us, sweetheart.

I just don't think that should mean that I can't have a little fun.

That's all true, but it also makes them easy marks.

Not saying it should stop you.

Most people know better than to try anything with me - and those that don't wouldn't want to in the first place. It's a nice position to be in, actually.

Who knows, though! Maybe I'll make a point of seeing Chicago one day, once all of this is over.

Got good security detail then?

[He shrugs a bit.]

It's not a bad city and it has it's attractive qualities. [But he doesn't sound overly attached to it.]

More like I can fight for myself.

And most cities seem to; we don't have all that many where I'm from, but I've seen a few things from the surface world. It seems pretty good, all things considered.

If there's one thing I miss about it, it's that there's barely any integrated technology here. [ The Kingmaker cellphone + vending machine barely counts.]

Ugh, right...

[Oh, good, bitching about the lack of anything relevant, this is a great pastime.]

I'm from the most technologically-advanced area in the Underground, normally, I've been going insane with the complete lack of anything reasonable. You'd think that we'd at least have the level of tech required to entertain ourselves, but no, it's all strangely physical things. We at least have the internet where I'm from and we literally live under a rock, so it's not like the Kingmaker has any excuse.

[He actually laughs a bit.] Everything in Chicago is connected via a network. The cars, the bridges, the billboards, you name it. It's been a while since I've had to deal with things being so...simple.

[He's old enough where he shook it after the first week or so, but it was still a terrible inconvenience to have half your skillset be moot.]

[See, that sounds fascinating, actually.]

Now that sounds like it would be worth seeing, just for that alone - I've never heard of anything like it, and I'm sure my creator would love that. She's really into things like that, she's always modifying our own technology back home; she'd have an absolute field day.

Yeah, it's fairly new, " way of the future" and all that. [ Torn between sounding enthusiastic about it and just a bit cynical.]

Chicago is the test city, but it won't be long before they try this all over the US.
