Week 5.
Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 17 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

arcade
Just what the hell is this place? I feel like I'm walking through a bizarre dream!

It's an arcade. There are a bunch of games here. Kinda like the thing the Kingmaker gave us. I don't recognize most of 'em, though.

[But this... doesn't look anything like...]

[He glances to one of the cabinets. SPACE INVADERS it says.]
Is that supposed to be normal?
no subject
Oh, this is a simple game. It's a puzzle; you play a little spaceship and you shoot at the other space ships.
no subject
[.....]
There's quite a bit I didn't understand about that.
no subject
It's, ah...
See that little thing right there? You control it with this stick. [And he demonstrates.] You press this button here and it shoots at these other guys like a gun.
no subject
...Oh, that's it, eh? Sounds easy enough.
[Shoot the things with the other thing. Okay. He'll just take the position in front of the cabinet...]
Hard to imagine how people enjoy these so much, to be honest.
no subject
Dunno, really. They're pretty fun, though I don't know how kids spend all day in the arcade. Seems a little extreme.

Pew pew. Pew, pew pew.]
Feels a bit like a dream. Some kind of flashy wonder from the future, eh?
[He gives Gabriel a light shrug.] Though that might just be me.
no subject
They're pretty fun, in my opinion. Don't play them too often or anything, but I've been in an arcade enough to know the ropes.
At least we don't have to pay anything here.

Around the time we first got here... I seem to recall miss Lynne talking to me about "cars". And then there's the "internet" and now this... Seems like there's way more out there in your times then I can imagine.
no subject
[You can do it, Speedy!]
no subject
[He's working his way down to about half the ships. For someone that's never actually played a game before, he's got amazing coordination.]
All that 'internet' and such? Ever heard of that?
no subject
A lot of it just seems mundane to 'em, I'm sure.
[At that question.]
I've heard of it. I know it was invented by the military, but not much more than that.
no subject
[The ships are... going a fair bit faster. Oh no.]
Guess some of them don't know how lucky they are to have all of that, do they?
no subject
[....]
No, you're right. Most people don't have a clue.
no subject
I guess I'll always be holding up the rear. I'm hardly anything helpful when it comes to those cases.

I used to be good at pokin' around and findin' things, but it's a bit harder in a situation like this.
no subject
[He believes in ya, gabriel.]

Same to you.
