Week 5.
Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 17 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]

Black slowly gets up after the incentive and shuffles out of the dining hall, lips pursed. It's... he could fix so much, he could convince his parents not to go to NYC in the first place, he could...
he couldn't. They'd never agree to it. That's the sort of people they were.
....he's fine just sitting here in the hallway don't worry he just needs to think. ]

Hey. How ya holdin' up?
no subject
...I'm fine. [ ........which is sort of a lie, but he can live with it. ] It's... a thoughtful offer, but there's no way I could stop what happened from happening. Not for any moral reasons, but--my parents.
They were good people who were very dedicated to their jobs. Nothing could've kept them from going and doing what they did. It'd be useless to try and stop them. [ ... ] That's just the kind of people they were. Stubborn and doing what they had to do, even if it upset them.

If I were gonna change one thing, it'd be fallin' out with my brother. But even if it hadn't happened the same way, I guess maybe there's just no gettin' around it... [He falls silent for a moment.] Probably better not to think about it too much. It ain't gonna happen anyway.

What did you have a falling out about, if you don't mind me asking? [ There's not a lot that can come between twins, after all, and there's no one who'd know better. ] You don't have to say, but... I mean, I can't imagine really imagine what'd be big enough to do that.

He blamed me for ruinin' his chances of gettin' into this fancy college. It was an accident, but I dunno if he ever really believed me. [That...that sounds stupid when he says it out loud. It's been years, but surely he told this story to someone else at some point, right? He was probably still a lot younger then.] He was always the smart one, that kinda stuff was big to him.
no subject
I'm sure it was a big deal back when it happened, but, er... [ ... ] That seems kind of silly, to be honest. Have you two tried making up?
no subject
[How did this turn from checking in on the kid to venting his own anger about his brother?]
no subject
Over something that happened literally years ago?
no subject
[Literally not the name of the college, but okay]

He appreciates the fact him and his sister are still on solid talking terms all the more. Why can't he be with her nowwww. ]
Well, I hope things get better between you two eventually. White and I have fought before, but it's never been anything that couldn't be fixed with ice cream and an invitation to sneak out after curfew.

No problems there. Our mom and dad used to call us two in one, anyway--said we worked better together. That's why we have matching nicknames too, or... something... I think Dad told White about that, but I never heard it, except "Dad was drunk and it's a dumb reason" from her.

Why?

I'm Stanley, he's Stanford. I took Stan, so that left him with Ford. [.....] Still confused pretty much everyone we ever met.

I can imagine. White and I's real names are pretty distinctively different, as you'd hope. [ from... having both a boy and a girl... although lbr, parents find a way. ] Technically, we're a matching pair, but it's not too obvious.

[Stan shrugs, trying to downplay it. Even now, the question still brings up old bitterness.]

I see. [ Mmmmoooving on. ] Your brother wanted to go to school, so—what did you want to do when you were growing up? [ ... ] Please don't say "scam people with quirky novelty items."

When we were younger, we used to always talk about gettin' a boat and sailin' the world together. Guess I never thought much past that.
no subject
[ Last time anything like this came up it was a no, but hey, maybe he's remembered something about it. ]

[He shakes his head ruefully. The dumb part didn't really stop when he grew up, either.]
Figured the Kingmaker just put that on there to screw with me.

He is that type of person, but he's also been... [ ... ] Not entirely a jerk, sometimes. He's gotten pretty much everything right on my profile, so I don't know why he'd single you out specifically.
