WEEK 7 Two more Survivors have left you; Aqua was killed in cold blood and Mettaton... well, your thoughts on Mettaton probably vary depending on how close you were to him, but either way he chose to end Aqua's life and paid the price for it. There are so few of you now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible seventh floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it. [Well, it's not as though they were going to get much use out of the office anyways. It's up six flight of stairs, and didn't have much in it anyways. The rune carvings are still going to get a bit of a look though, just saying.

He steps in, hearing the sounds of a lyre and, well, spotting Sigrun with her feet up.]

...Glad to see you've been making yourself comfortable.

Someone's gotta. A shame for such a beautiful office to go to waste, you know? Even if it could do with a few windows and a fire space.

[Yes, fire space, not fireplace. A space for fire.]

Ah... quite a shame then. [Not THAT much.]

Have to say, many a room in this place could do with a few more windows and doors. Haven't seen some grass or trees or the like in a fortnight.

[She's going to put a fire pit up here one day.]

Yeah, really. I asked once for a room that kind of mimicked the whole sun and moon thing at least, day and night since I wanted to show bombshell the stars, but... Well, I mean, if we do end up getting it, it's too late.

That said, it seems we're getting into more techy places? They're totally different than what's downstairs at least. Kind of wigs me out.

[Speedwagon is mostly against that idea.]

'Bombshell'? You're talking about... [Well. Hmm.] Well, in any case, that would have been quite the gift... if that Kingmaker ever decided to accept it.

[Signs were pointing to a steady 'no'.]

Yup. Plenty of rooms I haven't seen the like of before. Although everyone else seems to be taking to them just fine.

[She asked for it like, three or four weeks ago.

It was never being fulfilled. And it would've been such a gift his face would've lit up and maybe he would've kissed her but mostly it'd be so nice to watch him experience stars and the sun in some form, but now it's just a dream...]

Right? I'll leave that kind of stuff to them, but this. [a motion to the office] This is mine now, fluffhead. If I could sleep up here, I would, but really I don't want to try. You guys need a leader now more than ever.

[Some people dream about seeing the stars, or being one. One might have been a bit more important to him then the other... But Speedwagon wouldn't have judged it either way. It's all been said and done.]

Well I'd gladly appreciate it if you didn't! [Sweeping hand gesture, nearly knocking a chair over. Ouch.] No one would want another show just like what happened to that Taichi lad!

[He could've had both if he'd stayed. But it is said and done.]

'Course. Can't let anyone's death be in vain just because I'd like to test if I can sleep in the third coziest room here. I already argued that we should be able to sleep in the infirmary if we're injured and shouldn't move.

... He said he'd think about it. Wonder if he's thought enough.

That's wise move. Can hardly be expected to pick up and carry ourselves that distance if something were to happen, now can we? [...Not to mention they'd finally not have to worry too much about one room.]

You think so? ...When did you ask him, then?

I asked him last week, I think. When we were still on good speaking terms.

[... and now they're not exactly on good terms at all]

Sorry to say, but I don't believe you'll be getting that request now. Not unless you're feeling quite like badgering him until he breaks.

[It was inevitable that someone she cared about would be taken from her... but Mettaton was the most likely out of any of them to kill someone, really. Even by the slightest amount.]

I'll still be civil to him if I need to talk to him. I just hate his guts and would like to be the one to split his head open, that's all. Badgering doesn't work with him, by the way, it just turns into a game of "how many ways can I ask this before he decides to hang up on me" before I either had to move on or... get hung up on.

[... Admittedly the latter happened almost never, but she can think of some abrupt ends to their conversations.]

[It's an unfortunate fact that he simply wasn't feeling like bringing up here. Speedwagon was many things but he wasn't about to rub any particular facts in Sigrun's face. That just wouldn't be right.]

Ah... well, you're more then deserving of it, I'll tell you that. [he sighs quietly.] Figure I've been asking him the wrong way for things all this time, but that's not much I can do about it now. I'm rather surprised he's taken your word for as long as he did.

[Because anyone who could get anything out of the guy clearly had some skill.]

Funny what a little kindness can get you, fluffhead. I just talked to him and treated him like I did any of you, asked the right questions, gave reasons for why I wanted them... and that's my secret.

[Treating him like he was just a human.]

Generally though, if you're not nice to someone and then expect they give any leeway, you're really, really dumb. Just saying.

Guess my figuring was right then. Maybe if we all showed him a bit more of a proper kindness we wouldn't be in as dire straits as we seem to be.

[It's honestly a shame.]

[She'd offered to be a leader to him too, if he'd let her be. Basically as someone who'd be there for him if he needed it and to pull him down a better path, to help his strengths shine and fortify his weaknesses.

Sooooo much for that.]

It wouldn't have stopped him from putting up offers like he has been, I think. Wouldn't have stopped people from killing. Wouldn't have stopped bombshell from being a kill switch.

But who knows. Maybe there would've been something different. A few more answers and less frustration. It's too late to find out now though.

[Only Sigrun would offer leadership and guidance to the person holding them all captive in this place. It wouldn't have been the first instinct Speedwagon would have followed.]

...Hmm. [She's got a point.] At the very least, might've even saved a few more lives.

[Maybe. He would certainly like to think so.]

Too late now. [a light sigh.] So, how are you faring then?

[Sometimes people just need a hand. A backhand.]

Worse than most, better than I was a few days ago. [Honesty is the policy from now on. It's forceful work.] All things considered, anyway. You definitely won't have to worry about your good leader avoiding you all again. There's just no time for it.

[... Look, she can admit she was. Because she definitely was.]

[Let's be honest with ourselves. A slap upside the dead would solve a lot of problems around here.]

Hmm, glad I can stop worrying over that then. [Yeah, he noticed. Sigrun definitely wasn't around those first few days.] I suspected something was up after the trial, not that I can really blame you. Not one bit.

[...He takes a seat. He's been. He was standing there for a while.]

[It's true. Everyone needs a backhand.]

And glad to see you're off them. I had a bit of a rough time, not that... anyone seems to really blame me, yeah, but my right hand man brought me back around to what's really important. No matter what comes our way, you can put your trust in me.

[And she says it so confidently, so genuinely, it's like her heart was never broken. If she couldn't save the person she loved, she'll at least save everyone else she can.]

Honestly, if there's any one here I can put my trust in, you'd be a right excellent pick.

[Even if she was feeling the strain herself, Speedwagon knew he could trust her to make some good decisions still.]

None of them can hardly blame you, not like we don't... know how close the couple of you were.

... Still wasn't very right of me to take his side even though I knew he was in the wrong.

[Not that she regrets it, thinking it over. She might be sorry about how she'd acted since she knew it was wrong of her as a leader, but as a person there's not a bit of her that would've liked to apologize.]

[You make some dumb decisions when you're in love, he's heard. Murder usually doesn't factor into it though. Uh.]

[It sucks that she still blushes at "love" even if she's trying to come to terms with it. Haha. Hahaha. Ha. Love, oh gods.]
