Final Investigation.

You've all done very well to make it this far, but it's not over yet. The klaxons blare out today, as they always do – there's no reason they should do any differently, not least of which because it's a Thursday; strange things usually don't happen around here until Fridays, and there's no reason to think that today will be any different. But as soon as you awaken and get a glimpse of what's happening down that first-floor corridor, it becomes very apparent that that's far from the case. The usual rooms on the eastern wing of the first floor are gone entirely, replaced by more of that glossy black that coats the courtroom; it's a little vertigo-inspiring at first, but it's not dangerous. Of more interest, then, is probably those three rooms that seem to be waiting for you – one to the north, two to the south. Choose where you're going to go. Look around for a while. What else are you going to do, after all? >Explore?

Sure, but let's not go too far. I don't trust that door.

[It isn't. It's locked.

But you'll probably also notice a small device on the wall next to the door that looks like it requires a card key.]

[...well, he also retrieved his purple card keys. Is there a reaction if he scans one of those?]

[There is! The card reader lights up and there's a click from the door. Sounds like you're good to go!]

...looks like that's what the cards were for.

[Bruce has his own pair that he's found, of course, but it doesn't seem they're for this particular door.

He steps forward first and pushes it open slightly, peering through the gap first to see if there's anybody in there... or anything that could mean danger for them.]

.....I guess it'd make sense for the Kingmaker to hide them away.

[This room also looks like it was a library of some sort! It's been cleaned out as well; there are some shelves nearby with a few things on it as well as a table with some file folders resting on top.]

...room seems clear.

[After a moment more Bruce moves to open the door fully so that all three of them can enter.

Again, more things to look at.]

[Stan moves towards the shelves. What have we got here?]

I'll take the table, then.

[Let's toddle over to the table and see what we have here first beyond the folders - he'll look at them after giving the table a once over--

--starting with them drawers. That is if they have any.]

[No drawers, the only thing you have on the table are folders. They look like they've been paged through recently; three of them are set aside.]

[Well that makes searching a lot faster.

Right, let's take a look from the top folder that's been set aside; Bruce picks it up and opens it to see what wondrous secrets it might hold.]

[The first folder has the title VISIONARY on it. It looks as though someone's torn out some of the pages - they were once stapled together but now there's mostly ripped pages near the staple and not much left. The papers that are left stapled together don't have anything useful on them.

What is left is a photograph! It looks like this one's been badly damaged though. Someone's cut X shapes through his eyes and sliced few the picture a few times. You can still get the idea that this was once a good-looking guy though!]

[WHY IS ANOTHER DISNEY CHARACTER HERE, JFC.

Bruce glances through the papers first just to make sure there really is nothing of value, then looks at the... uh, photo. Or what clearly was once a photo anyway. I don't know about good looking because Bruce can't see it... but okay.

He flips the photo around to the back to see if there's anything on it first, and if not he'll put those aside and move onto the second folder.]

[There is something on the back, but it's just the title VISIONARY again. So that's probably not all that useful.

Folder #2 has PERSEVERING on the front and the papers inside are treated the same way, ripped out with no useful information left.

There's also a photograph in here though! It's of a red haired kid who looks kind of mad. This one is perfectly intact though, no cuts anywhere!]

[...he looks pretty young here - or at least it does to Bruce anyway. Was he a former participant...?

He doesn't want to quite think about that, to be honest. If he really was in one of these 'games'...

That's something to consider later.

Again Bruce checks the remnants of the papers as well as the back of the photograph just to ensure that there's nothing more to see, then puts those aside too and picks up the third folder that was set aside and looks though that.]

[Items! Specifically you've got:

- A Pokédex
- An anime figure of some sort (Mew Mew Kissy Cutie is printed on the bottom)
- A pair of pocketwatches
- An anchor-shaped necklace with a strange stone set in it
- A pretty pink parasol
- Two pink puffy pom-poms

They're definitely not your average vending machine items.]

[What the fuck is any of this. Stan picks up the Pokedex first, because it's clearly some kind of Palm Pilot-type thing, and tries to turn it on.]

Either of you guys ever heard of..."Mew Mew Kissy Cutie"? [He asks in the exact tone of voice you would expect.]

[You can turn it on! However there's nothing useful to find on here. None of these items have any other clues, so you might want to direct your attention elsewhere!]

[Well, Bruce has the folders over there. Stan remembers the whole kiln thing, though, so is there anything behind the shelves?]

[It's a good attempt, but unfortunately there isn't anything back there. The last thing left for you guys are the folders Bruce is going through, if you want to help him out!]

What's all this?
