Final Investigation.
| You've all done very well to make it this far, but it's not over yet. The klaxons blare out today, as they always do – there's no reason they should do any differently, not least of which because it's a Thursday; strange things usually don't happen around here until Fridays, and there's no reason to think that today will be any different. But as soon as you awaken and get a glimpse of what's happening down that first-floor corridor, it becomes very apparent that that's far from the case. The usual rooms on the eastern wing of the first floor are gone entirely, replaced by more of that glossy black that coats the courtroom; it's a little vertigo-inspiring at first, but it's not dangerous. Of more interest, then, is probably those three rooms that seem to be waiting for you – one to the north, two to the south. Choose where you're going to go. Look around for a while. What else are you going to do, after all? >Explore? |
[OOC: Welcome to the final investigation! The areas blocked off in rooms 2 and 3 will require card keys to open; otherwise, you are free to investigate at your leisure!
Remember, we need 15 comments total from each of you on this log somewhere!]

Continue Investigation, Mouri
[See you later, Sigrun. Sigh. Yes, deactivated. Mouri is going to try to see if he has missed anything in the podium touchpad and buttons. Is there anything left to see that aren't executions from people they know?
Is Glory or Ambitious available anywhere?]

That one will bring up another hologram immediately, but it doesn't seem to be moving to do anything, nor does it look strange and aggressive like the others did. She's got a weird, faded appearance to her, more obviously a projection than anything that looks properly solid; she has short dark hair and large eyes, dressed in black pants and a black turtleneck, and unlike the other holograms she seems rather aware of what's happening in the room.
She looks like she's waiting for something.]

This may be Glory...at least I think Glory was a woman?
[What is for sure is that Mouri has never seen someone like her before]

If you think it's Glory, then it's as good a guess as any!

Hello, Kogoro Mouri.
[Her voice is even, if a little strident and generally inflectionless.]
I have been called a lot of things. For now, my name is Glory.

[He jumps back as if she had just taken out a sword to try to impale him. Yeah, he didn't expect that. Being called by his name is another notch onto the list of unexpected stuff. What the hell?!]
Gl-Glory! What is the meaning of this? What is going on?!
[Kind of a stupid question. Give him a moment to get used to the hologram suddenly speaking to him, okay?]
no subject
[She says, as though this is clearly no cause for concern and has no idea why he might be alarmed in the first place.]
no subject
[Well!!.... So much for being no surprised!!]
Wait a second...! You mean this "game" we're in?

This is all almost over. What will happen at the end? Do we have any chance of surviving, anything we can do?
no subject
[...Again, like this is no cause for concern.]
no subject
[There is one single question Mouri knows he should ask, though]
Do you know why suddenly there are these rooms to investigate...and why part of the first floor is now no more than a void? Did something happen to the Kingmaker?
no subject
[This girl, swear to god.]
This is part of the game closing down.

Well... hang on, please! Just how are you talking to us right now, Glory? You should be dead, shouldn't you?
no subject
I'm a program.
no subject
[... sorry, Glory]
no subject
Or could we be...immersed in a simulation, so to say?
[Yes, finally, the big question according to him. Mouri is holding his breath for the answer]
no subject
I'm sorry, but that information is to be passed on to the new king, at Kingmaker's discretion.

Feel free to ask anything you want, Speedwagon-san.
[This is of no use for Mouri. Welp]
