And apparently that's all it takes, though what that actually does isn't something that happens all at once - rather, panels slide out from the wall, forming a staircase up to that balcony they've been standing on. Mettaton doesn't really wait for the others to join them; he just leaves back through that section of wall they entered from, calling something back over his shoulder. It's not for show. I can sympathize, but that doesn't mean that I can forgive and forget. Those two aren't the same. But at the same time you're the one who's abused the trust others have given you - not once, but twice, even though you knew what it'd do for the people closest to you.

Perhaps I am a hypocrite for being the one unwilling to spare you after everything, but you haven't exactly done anything to redeem yourself at that point. Remember that they're the ones now who are letting you take the first step.

I'm not going to apologize, but I'll stop here and won't get in your way anymore, unless you give me reason to.

You have no right to decide things like that if you can wholeheartedly sympathize with murderers, some of whom decided to murder because that's just what they do. That's the fact of the matter, sweetheart. Sorry if you don't like it. At least you admit that you're a hypocrite, though!
