And apparently that's all it takes, though what that actually does isn't something that happens all at once - rather, panels slide out from the wall, forming a staircase up to that balcony they've been standing on. Mettaton doesn't really wait for the others to join them; he just leaves back through that section of wall they entered from, calling something back over his shoulder. ... I don't see how you couldn't be. Everyone was too forgiving the first time, that's why it ended up happening a second time, too. We were just lucky that when it happened with Black, it wasn't on life or death terms.

[That's all. The implication of damning most of them to save Mettaton is clear.]

[ She says it simply enough. But she has a feeling she should elaborate. ]

Thank you. I don't think I really deserve that, after everything that's happened, but that's your choice. And I'm glad it's what it is.

It seems like you keep picking up stragglers. [ ... mmmaybe she should uh. talk to Mettaton before all that? ] I'm sure they won't be too terrible, under your watchful eye.

Me and Cherry'll keep them on the straight and narrow. But picking up people like that is just what I do, I guess. Ended up adopting a kitten back home too.

Well, on the topic of that, I happen to know that the end of my current mission is a whole lot of treasure, so I suspect we'll be fine for a good while.

I won't. There's plenty of things for them to do themselves, after all, that they'll be good and happy to be doing.

Almost. I just want you to know that this is by no means the easy way out for either them, and... actually I thought that just killing them on the spot would've been that. They knew they deserved to die. And they still do, I'm sure.

But when things are like that, it's harder to live.
