Take Initiative.
| It seems things have been resolved - peacefully, if more than a little awkwardly for most parties involved. However, there's still work to do here, isn't there? Ryuunosuke shrugs after a long moment; tips his head up a bit. "Hey, Glory? Let everyone up." And apparently that's all it takes, though what that actually does isn't something that happens all at once - rather, panels slide out from the wall, forming a staircase up to that balcony they've been standing on. Mettaton doesn't really wait for the others to join them; he just leaves back through that section of wall they entered from, calling something back over his shoulder. "We've got another room to work from back here, darlings, this shouldn't take too long to work out." >Follow? |

It's all right- it isn't awful. I understand.
[He definitely wants to get that out there before anything.]
I am deeply sorry that I could not be on that side with you. You don't know how much I wanted to speak with you after...well. I don't have to say it, do I?
[HE WAS SO CONCERNED ABOUT TARRLOK WHEN AMON CAME UP...thankfully those photos were fake, but still.]
But...knowing you were still there in some capacity was an enormous motivator to keep moving forward on this side. We could not have done this without you all.
no subject
There's a lot I still need to talk with you about, but... that can wait a while, I think. It's not the sort of thing you want to unload in the middle of a happy reunion.
[like, seriously, what's more of a buzzkill than "my brother and i are dead because i intentionally blew up the boat we were on." we're not getting into that territory for another few days.]
...and yes, I... don't blame you one bit. I probably would've given up if I didn't have you and the others to worry about on both sides.
no subject
Of course. I will be here to listen, when the time is right. And we do have plenty of time for that now, so...I am more than happy to enjoy the moment.
[He gives a small hum of agreement at the next bit.]
As much as I want to say I hope you didn't worry too much about us, I truly cannot speak on the matter.
[Haha, week eight sure was a fun ride with that Glory message saying the dead were in danger. He just...kinda tightens his grip a little bit. It's hard to want to let go after all of that. After everything.]
...I am so glad to have you back.
[It's probably a little selfish to phrase it like that, and he even surprises himself a little when he suddenly says it. Maybe those are his emotions talking.]
I- Sorry, I meant that it is good to have you back among us...
[Nnnnngh.]
no subject
...well, after the week there wasn't a trial for you and we didn't hear from you, I have to admit that I was pretty on edge. There wasn't anything to suggest that you were hurt or anything, but I... did worry that I wouldn't get to see you again.
[...you're so cute, though........]
But it's fine now, right? We're both here, actually in the flesh for once.
no subject
ALSO SHUSH...]
That certainly makes two of us. It was not a fun week...for any of us, really.
[He was a fucking wreck. But that's really hard to admit to, so maybe go ask Sigrun or Cherryblod. ALSO...they didn't see that trial?! ...That's going to be something to bring up during their feelings jam in a few days, haha...ha...
He lifts his head up for a moment so he can nod.]
It...it is. Ah- there is a second layer to it, isn't there?
[...That seems to have sparked something too, since he leans back so he can look at Tarrlok. His smile is definitely a bright one.]
We're here, and there's...presumably a way to return to our worlds at separate intervals? We'll have to look further into it. But I still would like to have you visit Unova. I'll get you that Poliwag I had been planning to, and I'll take you to the Marine Tube. You will absolutely love that. Then, we can return to your world to sort things out and rescue your plants, and deliver Pokemon to the to the others...
[Oh boy, he's way too excited about all the prospects here.]
no subject
[oh, well, that sounds ominous.
...honestly tho he's just going to be happy you resisted the bad decision instead of doing a sick 180 right into it, bruh]
...well, you know, I'm definitely a lot more sold on that whole "permanent vacation" thing at this point in time, because it's...
...
Well, there are a few extra reasons I'd need to prepare myself before I go back, and we'll leave it at that for now.

Colress' smile fades to a look of unease, scanning Tarrlok's expression. He softens his tone when he speaks up.]
Tarrlok...
[He can only figure that those rough patches on the other side were especially rough.
Here, just...have some gentle back rubs.]
Right, let's... Let's try to stay on the positive. Though I promise that once we reach the point where we talk about it, it will be...fine.
[He hopes. He really does hope.
Speaking of positive, though! He can think of something that might help.]
...Would you like to see Klinklang again?
no subject
[he says, trying not to sound kind of broken or anything.]
...although, I don't actually need an excuse for that. Though, was it... sort of mentally in there, too?
1/2
[Now he's just getting even more concerned. ...There are going to be so many more hugs to come. And tears, probably. But...it can wait.
He momentarily breaks their embrace so he can dig into his coat pocket to produce Klinklang's Pokeball.]
I haven't completely confirmed it, but their Pokeballs were in the capsule with me. In my world, Pokemon are stored in PCs as well, so...I imagine it may have ended up working similarly in this case.
[Well, better late than never to find out.]
no subject
It spins around like it's stretching its...gears...from having been in storage for quite a while, whirring happily to be out in the open again. But wait, this doesn't look like an environment it's used to...
It turns to face Colress, making sure its Trainer is there to maybe explain what's going on...and then it sees Tarrlok.
For the first time, its gears completely stop rotating. Klinklang is completely frozen in shock. That should be a giveaway enough that it remembers, because why else would it react so intensely?
Suddenly, it makes the most elated whirring and clinking noises, its gears spinning ridiculously fast from the amount of excitement it's dealing with. And just as quickly, allows its minigear to momentarily leave the rest of its body so it can snuggle itself up against Tarrlok.
Boy, Tarrlok. Those gears sure missed you too.]
no subject
[...he knows that's not the sense he meant it in, but still.]
...huh, then it shouldn't be too different. Well, let's see.
[...yes. yes, good.
he's so happy to see you too. It's still kind of hard to figure out what precisely to do, but scratching it behind one of the cogs might work??]
...heh, and here I was worrying you wouldn't remember me.
no subject
...And for the record, it's really hard not to get a little teary-eyed by that entire display. So he's not even going to resist it. There is indeed going to be a recovery period from everything, but this is just one more confirmation to Colress that things turned out for the better and it's real.
Maybe if he wipes his eyes quickly enough, Tarrlok won't notice.]
I am so glad that it did. This is how it should be.
[Klinklang seems to agree as it hums gently, pleased by whatever Tarrlok's doing. It did kind of understand what was going on near the end there, but the main thing of importance is that Tarrlok is back!!]
no subject
See, everything is fine and perfectly understandable.]
Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, didn't you get more of them? I never really got to properly meet the one that was acting as an intermediary between us and you that one time.
no subject
Ah! That is correct, I did rescue two others from the vending machine. The one you are speaking of is called Beheeyem. Here, let me bring him out...
[He sorts through his pocketed Pokeballs until he finds Beheeyem's (this is why labelling them at the bottom is a good idea), and moments later there a small alien is among them!]
Beheeyem, this is Tarrlok. He was one you may have heard the thoughts of during our conversation with the spirits.
[Beheeyem considers this as he floats beside the two of them, glancing curiously at Tarrlok. He'd have to hear Tarrlok's voice to know, but... He's definitely heard the name before, he's pretty sure.
Nevertheless, Tarrlok will get a polite bow of greeting from the alien.]
Beheeyem and I actually did try to contact you all several more times after the first contact, but for some reason we were never able to. That is where a lot of my worrying stemmed from...
no subject
[...oh god, this one is cute too??]
...he looks kind of like a guy in a hat and an overcoat... heh. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't that.
[He'll wave a little at first, then!]
Well, it's nice to meet you too, then. ...and that does explain it. I don't think you would've intentionally missed out on contacting us, so I guess it must've been blocked somehow.
no subject
Oh yes, Beheeyem does recognize that voice a little bit. In response to the waving, he waves back! His little orb fingers glow brightly in alternate intervals, creating a pattern.
Colress nods in agreement, giving a little chuckle too.]
Doesn't he? I find his appearance to be rather cute. But he is able to be incredibly intimidating when he wants to be.
[This time it's Beheeyem who nods. Psychic-types are not something you want to mess with, especially if you're human.
And as for the blocked contact...]
Right. I can only imagine it had to have been the Kingmakers or Glory at work. In the times Beheeyem sensed you, it didn't seem to take him much effort to do so. So...I do apologize if you all were waiting for us to check in- we certainly tried.
no subject
He doesn't mind being pet, does he? I figure I at least ought to ask, since I'm not sure every animal back home likes being pet.
Yes, I didn't think that you all had suddenly forgotten about us or... something. It was more worrying that there was something... more pressing, or simply that communication lines had been blocked.
no subject
Beheeyem will answer Tarrlok's question before Colress even can, giving a slight nod.]
I wouldn't say he is as affectionate as Klinklang, but he has gotten used to being pet. I think he rather likes it now...judging by how quickly he reacted.
[He glances to the side thoughtfully at the second bit.]
We thought similarly of you all. Just before we completely lost contact, we received a message from Glory stating that the Kingmaker intended to dispose of everyone, starting with those on the other side.
[...Again, not going to admit that he was a wreck until Sunday, haha...]
Thankfully Glory was able to reach you, but...well. Knowing what Glory is now, it feels a little strange. But I am still glad she spoke to you all.
no subject
[...hmmm. how about... what looks like the brim of his hat. is that kind of like scratching a dog behind the ear. it's good that pokemon are a lot better at getting their feelings across to people than normal animals, at the very least...]
...ah, yes, that... was what Glory warned us about. It did serve to kick us into gear, and we learned some pretty valuable things... that we couldn't get across to you, unfortunately enough.
no subject
It's all so heartwarming! At least...that's what Colress thinks as he watches on with a smile.]
At this rate, you're going to charm my entire team! I can tell already, your own Pokemon are going to be well-loved.
[In other words, super spoiled. But at this rate, his own Pokemon are on that road too...
Ah, and then there's the more serious discussion...]
You...you did? Even so, that is extremely impressive! I would love to hear the tale of your findings sometime. Perhaps as we're catching up in the next few days.
[Maybe it'll be a more upbeat thing compared to what else they'll be discussing...hahaha.]
no subject
I'm pretty excited about this, actually. I haven't really had the opportunity to have a pet... basically ever. I know it isn't really the same thing, but it's definitely nice to think about.
[...childhood was A Thing and adulthood was way too busy.]
Oh, of course. We're going to have plenty of time to talk about things, after all.
no subject
I am happy to hear that! And as I've said in the past, you are more than able to keep your Pokemon as pets rather than battle. It is all a matter of preference.
That said, I am looking forward to your reaction to the starter Pokemon that I have chosen for you. It is quite cute, and of course, it is a Water-type.
[It's gonna be the cutest Poliwag ever because that is what Tarrlok deserves!!
He then falls silent for a moment, looking at Tarrlok thoughtfully. About that...]
I truly am looking forward to it- the return to Unova, that is. I realize there is still much to discuss, and that it will be an enormous adjustment for you, but I want to make sure you have some time of peace after...everything.
[The memories, especially, but also y'know, having died and been a ghost for nearly a month. A break could definitely help, before dealing with everything else.
Still, he does want to make sure, since it's a huge decision...]
You are absolutely sure this is what you want?
no subject
...but really, I'm excited about all of this. And...
...
Yes, I'm positive. I didn't really have any attachments back home that I'd want to actually go back for. I'm sure I'd want to go back at some point, but... I don't think I would want to stay.
[...outside of, like, actual atonement type things...]
no subject
[Perhaps not in the strictly battling sense, but a wonderful Trainer all the same. Colress fully expects to see Tarrlok display a lot of the love for his future team that a certain teenager he knows does. He can't help but find it incredibly endearing, honestly...
He places a hand on Tarrlok's shoulder at this point, giving it a comforting squeeze. He knows why Tarrlok would say those things, but...]
I understand. I obviously don't have to tell you that I would be honored to have you with me in Unova, but when the time comes that you want to visit Republic City again, know that I will be by your side to assist you in any way that I can. [...] I realize that I wasn't so great at it in the past, but I do still want to look out for you.
[Atonement is good, and Colress wants to make sure Tarrlok's turns out okay.]
no subject
[HE CAN ALREADY TELL SHIT MIGHT BE MILDLY WEIRD...]
...no, you've been totally great about it. I mean, any time that I can think of where you haven't been there for me it's... not actually your fault.
