[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.



Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.

After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

In the Netherworlds, humans who sin are reincarnated as prinnies and made to be servants. I understand why there's a lot of them now.

Those who sin are made to be servants. I suppose that would make sense.

[She looks down, and wonders.]

What constitutes to 'sinning'? Is it doing something bad? But what if someone does something bad to save others?

I don't know what sinning for humans is, we have different standards. The angels deal with that, we just handle the prinnies.

Oh, so it would be up to the angels, then.

[She's not sure if angels exist, really. Well, then again she never thought she'd meet a demon like Killia or the majestic being that called her a poison.]

Um, so murder is against the law and a criminal action, correct? Let's say there's a murderer about who uses their position to get above the law and it becomes to the point that the law itself cannot touch them and they continue to murder without any sort of consequence from the law. So at that point, someone comes in and murders the murderer to stop this.

[She laces her fingers, fidgeting a bit.]

W-would you consider that a sin?

[ He's silent as she speaks, his expression his typical mildly sullen one. But if she's paying attention to his body language, she'll notice that he starts to flex claws as she goes on.]

I don't know what you humans consider a sin. To us it's not, in some Netherworlds that's the only way to survive. You kill or you die, that's just how it is.

Kill or be killed, right? Honestly, that's what my friends at home taught me. I don't like it, but... I don't want to die either.

[She hates it. She hates having to kill to live. But it's a reality that she's accepted.]

I... honestly don't think it's a sin because by taking out that one person who was hurting others, they've saved countless lives.

Yeah. [ His entire body is tense as he talks about this.]

I don't think of it that way, on whether it's a sin or not. To me only one thing matters and that's killing Void Dark.

What did this Void Dark do that requires you to kill him?

[She doesn't sound judgmental. Honestly, she's just curious.]

Taking over all the Netherworlds by force, killing anyone who doesn't obey him, enlisting a necromancer to revive those who don't...

[ His wings flare and for a second he looks like he's just going to attempt to slam through the nearest wall.]

I suppose if killing him would be the only way to stop him, then it's the only way.

[She doesn't like killing, not one bit, but when it's the last resort... she understands it's necessary.]

[She moves close to him, attempting to grab his hands and look into his eyes. Yes, she's pleading.]

[ Well he doesn't stop her, though he does stare at her levelly for a few moments before he responds. Shockingly when he does his voice isn't angry, but cool like it usually is.]

I won't. This has nothing to do with any of you, and I'm not killing anyone because he wants me to.

[She holds on to his hands firmly, giving them a bit of a shake.]

We don't need more needless violence and killing here.

[Demon or not, he's a living being. Estelle's just going to give him a firm stare.]

I know you won't stoop to that level either. I understand that sometimes people kill others and it's a solution that saves many people, however, in this case, we can't even be sure that will save us!
