WEEK 3.
As the second week draws to a close, two more have joined the deceased. Christo and Alani are dead, leaving twenty-six of you remaining. It may not seem like very many have died, but their absence will certainly be felt. Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Just like last week, a door in the stairwell has opened, leading you down further into the building; there are more rooms open to you down there - possibly even one that you'll find personally interesting. Go ahead and explore all you like; after all, you did well at completing your lessons this past week. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 25 |

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

[ Elda... is going to be an edgelord... ]
Those kids might do that, and Henry and James might pretend to do that, but I've never lived in their world, and I'm never going to.

[How does he put this?]
I've never been a vampire before. I don't know what your world is like. I think it's better to hear it from you.

... She motions for him to sit, pushing both drawings towards him and then reaching around to get a deck of playing cards. She'll just idly be messing with them as she begins ]
Vampires are burned by the sun, and that's the most obvious place to start. So your world is the night. Every vampire's born more or less human until they awaken, so all of us remember the light, but we'll never be able to rejoin it after the first time we taste blood. And when you get to be my age, I don't even really remember what the daylight looks like.

[He says it lightly, sure, but there's a big difference between not liking the sun and never being able to step into it.]
Go on.

[ But of course, she is. On some level she even knows it. ]
The manor has lights, but we'd never keep them on as bright as Wordsmith likes to keep things in here, [ so... normal light... ] because a vampire's sense of smell, sight, and hearing are all vastly above that of a human. Right now, I could probably work out what you ate for breakfast and normally I'd be able to get a fix on your blood. Well, if we could taste, that is. But I'm digressing - because the world's so vibrant, and we can see in the darkness, a lot of vampires don't bother keeping more than some cursory candles or lights around in their houses. It's easy to tell what everyone is up to if you focus as well, so the walls tend to be thicker, like the ones in the rooms we have here. And of course you want a coffin large enough to muffle things.
Still...
The heart of it all is that to a vampire, blood is life. When a creature is more or less immortal like a vampire is, the boundary between life and death is blurred. The oldest among us, those who didn't keep consistent and steady diets of blood, they age to the point their bodies can't right themselves back to youth. And it's fairly easy for... [ swallow ] for an aged vampire who falls asleep to let go of life, particularly if they aren't well fed. They fade out for dust.
