[ Well, that was an extraordinary trial to have... it was certainly filled with many things that wouldn't be lost to the memory of most, even for weeks to come. Although, the return to "normalcy" could be something that wouldn't seem like it was wanted, it was better than the alternative to returning to anything at all.

With ease, Mikazuki find himself setting up the usual party in the usual place-- that would be the library of course. Notes have been slipped underneath the doors of others, or hung up on the walls to alert them of this post-trial "celebration" -- which was more like a get-together of some sorts now than a real party. ]

I'll... I'll get there. [It was the same answer he'd given last week, and the week before it. The feelings of dread, of nausea, of guilt. There were all becoming normal, the more and more time that passed.]

I'm sorry for the way I acted at the trial.

[Ah yes, the trial. That brings back a flare of anger in Watanuki, one that he has to fight pretty hard to suppress.]

I know that you wouldn't do it. Not...something like that. Something so deliberate. If you did end up killing anyone here it would have to be an accident, or something that just suddenly happened.

But...for a moment there, I started to question that.

Your life depends on figuring who a killer is by figuring out the evidence. The evidence pointed to me for a minute. [He sighed.] I'd rather you figure out it was me than sentence yourself to death.

If it came down to it, I mean. [He shook his head.] I didn't help it, either.

...you better never kill anyone here. Not even in an accident. Because if you do, I swear to god, I'll-

[He doesn't even know what he would do. It hurts to think about it.]

I... [A heavy sigh escaped him. He fidgeted with his fingers, looked anywhere but at Watanuki. He wouldn't ever go out of his way to kill someone, especially since as time went on, there were fewer and fewer people that he might have considered "expendable."]

[Not that he would have thought as much as about anyone else.]

I can't promise that. If someone were trying to hurt you... [He shook his head.]

If someone were to hurt me then you better spend your time chasing down that doctor, not trying to avenge me before I died!

[...oh. Well that's actually nicer than the potential situations that Watanuki was imagining. And it's enough to stop him for a moment.]

W-well don't kill anyone, even in that situation. Just break their arm or something, so they can't hurt anyone. I don't want anyone else to die for my sake.
