I have a dream that I want to fulfill with you...
[ Well, that was an extraordinary trial to have... it was certainly filled with many things that wouldn't be lost to the memory of most, even for weeks to come. Although, the return to "normalcy" could be something that wouldn't seem like it was wanted, it was better than the alternative to returning to anything at all.
With ease, Mikazuki find himself setting up the usual party in the usual place-- that would be the library of course. Notes have been slipped underneath the doors of others, or hung up on the walls to alert them of this post-trial "celebration" -- which was more like a get-together of some sorts now than a real party. ]
Please join us in the library again. Of course, food and drink will be provided.
- Mikazuki, Orihime, Hanyuu, & Estelle
[ The food and drink has been set out, what with there being tea, vichyssoise, cream puffs, and fish for everyone to enjoy. ]

Either way, seeing that it's Lusamine-
She actually opens wider and motions for her to come in ]
Get in here, Lusamine.
no subject
Either way, she does what Elda asks.]
I hope I'm not disturbing you. Quite frankly, today has been...bothersome. I wanted to ask if I could take you up on that dare a little early...
no subject
[ It's okay, not like the hair is even covering that much tbh
Either way, the small woman shuts the door behind her and motions for Lusamine to sit on the desk chair.
... Incidentally, Elda's bed has been destroyed. It's legs were all knocked off and some monstrosity made out of woods, nails and duct tape (and mattress) which sort of looks like a coffin is in the center of the mess ]

Lusamine sighs.]
Great minds think alike, I suppose. I can wait until you're done with yours, if you'd like.
no subject
[ And she's not sure that Lusamine would want o bother with that, great minds or not. Still, she's smiling as she shuts the door. ]
no subject
Whatever is easiest for you. Just as long as what happened today isn't the subject.
[She figures Elda could think of something, even if it's silly.]
no subject
But she sits on top of her coffin thing, and gets back to brushing her hair then. She hates leaving something like this half-done, even if it will trap Lusamine here a while ]
Tell me about your husband.
[ Who is clearly alive and happy based on your reply at truth or dare???? ]
some sun and moon spoilers in here
My darling husband is a professor--Professor Mohn. When I originally established the organization, he was one of the first among those I hired. He specialized in Pokemon anthropology, mostly on species native to the Alola region. He signed on to the project in order to learn about more species, so he could continue to learn...
[Lusamine sighs, dreamily.]
He's adorable. Though, I do wonder...what kind of man do you envision, when I talk about him?
no subject
... She needs to admit it, at least to herself.
As a widow.
She's not used to this particular jealousy, so it's not quite bitter yet. So instead she just answers easily as she brushes her hair ]
Hmmmm, well to suit a lady like yourself, he'd have to be a particularly classy guy, a real gentleman! But if he's a professor, he's probably also a bit academic... glasses, even? Humans get bad enough eyesight they need glasses when they read a lot, right?
no subject
He's a gentleman...within his means. He actually worked on a farm before he decided to pursue an education. It was the Pokemon on the farm that inspired him, made him want to become something more than a simple farm hand. One of the big things he tried to learn was how to speak formally, but whenever he tried, he'd...
[Lusamine laughs, just a bit.]
His accent betrayed his words, and it was adorable! He would always try to state things properly, but get stuck on confusing words and spend a minute deciphering them. He made all of these little faces, so confused and irritated and dismayed.
I told him outright that he didn't need to do so if he couldn't. His passion for his work speaks far more volumes than any attempts at speaking properly, as far as I'm concerned. It made talking with him much easier, when he knew he didn't have to try and impress the higher ups...

... Was this what James saw in them, all these years?
She hums, continuing her brushing of her own hair, almost finished with one half of it ]
Did he buck up the courage to ask you our first, or did you need to take the reigns?
no subject
[Lusamine closes her eyes, grinning at the thought.]
We were in the Conservation, taking care of some Flying Pokemon that we were recently entrusted with. They were a rather jumpy bunch...I was focused on feeding them while he had gone to grab something. He was walking back when one of the Pokemon flew directly past me and at him! The poor man was knocked to the ground, and while I went to check on him...
There were roses. The most beautiful red roses I had seen in my life, along with an Ultra Ball on the ground. I wasn't sure what was going on at first, but he said to me...
"Ha ha...looks like I went and messed that one up, eh?"
When I asked him what he meant, he said that those roses...they were for me. As was the Poke Ball on the ground. I opened it up to find a sweet little Cleffa inside. She was adorable, and he said this to me...
"Well...I wished on that little shooting star to be able to go on a date with you, Miss President. Would you be okay with granting a silly little wish...?"
[There's a pause there...a decently long one, at least.]
...I told him that of course I would.

different.
Incredibly, amazingly, unknowably different than her xenophobic hatred she's harbored for centuries ]
no subject
Oh that sounds darling, darling! I'm not sure he'd be my type at all, but I can see how that sort of sweet man would really suit you! ... And wait, Cleffa... Cleffa! That's that moon one which evolves into- Oh, it's not the same one, is it?!
no subject
The Cleffa that my husband gave to me, and my darling Clefable? They are one in the same. I gave her every bit of love and attention I could, so she could evolve into the magnificent Pokemon I have with me now.
no subject
... Admittedly offset a little by being topless she needs to fix that.
But still, ]
Oh, I knew it! That's amazing, and I'm so glad that you can have a reminder of him like that here!
no subject
...But really, how can she possibly tell Elda that he's gone now? She can't just...backpedal after all of that. Or admit that she didn't want to have a terrible mood during truth or dare, so she lied to avoid it...
What an odd impasse.]
I'm thankful that the Wordsmith would let me have her. She's...been comforting, in this trying time.
no subject
But no, she's just animatedly clapping the other woman on the shoulder, perhaps resisting the urge to grab her hands. All the same, Elda, ]
Oh I bet! [ She laughs ] Best I've gotten is some nail polish and my brush, but that's got nothing on a pet.
no subject
...]
I suppose it isn't, but...I'm glad you have wonderful memories as well, Ms. Marker. [...] Is that...your last name, or your husband's?
no subject
[ She shakes her head ]
My James married into the Marker clan - we've always been a far more substantial family than the Edwardses.
[ The patting stops, but she's still over here, looking interested and... well, pleased to know Lusamine - actually ]
Do you guys not have family names, now I think of it?
no subject
[...and you know--]
...We all simply know one another by first name in my world. Surnames typically aren't important. Most will find that family resemblence is the best identifying marker.
[...pun not intended.]
no subject
[ . . . ]
But no, not quite the same as hers.
[ He wasn't a human, Elda can't help but think. But seemingly content with her hair now, she holds out her hand for Lusamine's, reaching around for her red nail polish... ]

Families tend to be rather centralized where I come from. Perhaps in the older days, there were branches. Of course, in Alola, most people consider and call just about anyone family. It's an unusual phenomenon of familiarity, but perhaps it is simply the level of closeness that is encouraged that acts as a surrogate.
[Shrug.]
Blood of the covenant, or something to that effect. I find it rather silly.
no subject
That said... ]
Alola's the sort of place where Tethras would fit right in, then? [ She huffs- but no, she won't salt... ] Or maybe how you've been acting with that Gold boy.
[ Perhaps that was a bit of a needle? Or maybe just a question - her tone isn't nasty, just curious ]
no subject
...of course, after tonight, she almost wants to rip them to pieces--this'll at least ensure that she's less willing to do so. The water's nice...]
Perhaps. It would certainly be the object of an interesting story...
[...Lusamine pauses a bit at the snipe, not...really sure how to respond to that. There's a lot she could admit here...]
He's a child. He has to be looked out for...otherwise he's going to do something rash and get himself killed. I can't let that happen.
