I have a dream that I want to fulfill with you...

[ Well, that was an extraordinary trial to have... it was certainly filled with many things that wouldn't be lost to the memory of most, even for weeks to come. Although, the return to "normalcy" could be something that wouldn't seem like it was wanted, it was better than the alternative to returning to anything at all.

With ease, Mikazuki find himself setting up the usual party in the usual place-- that would be the library of course. Notes have been slipped underneath the doors of others, or hung up on the walls to alert them of this post-trial "celebration" -- which was more like a get-together of some sorts now than a real party. ]

Please join us in the library again. Of course, food and drink will be provided.

- Mikazuki, Orihime, Hanyuu, & Estelle

[ The food and drink has been set out, what with there being tea, vichyssoise, cream puffs, and fish for everyone to enjoy. ]

It is. And there are many people stuck in between that mean to do good, I believe.

[She views the world through rose colored lenses, that much is obvious.]

Intentions matter in this world, in every world, but...it must be remembered that a sin is a sin. [She speaks gently.] Stuck between or not...what they do has consequences, and they must, in whatever way possible, be prepared. If chaos didn't magnify chaos...it would be a different chase, but...

Of course, a sin is a sin. I'm not going to deny that.

[Actually, this reminds her of a conversation she had a couple of weeks ago.]

What defines a 'sin'?
oyashiromama: (but when it's over‚ i'm still awake)

Ah- well... Something a person has done that has, directly or indirectly, harmed another, especially in a particularly detrimental way.

...Every sin is not equal, of course. [Ah, she can't get this knight out of a compromised position.] It could be...murder, naturally, but it could be turning a blind eye to the suffering of others. Pushing the blame of something onto someone unrelated. Or not listening to a friend in need. What matters, of course, is that the person who has sinned recognizes and takes actions to make amends or correct this. They acknowledge what they've done, and they seek to move forward.

What if a sin must be committed to save others, such as murder?

[It's an idea she's asked many people about, everyone has a different opinion. But she'll go ahead and take the knight with her bishop.]

By eliminating one person, hundreds of others are saved.

...It is something that you must weigh, carefully. If a sacrifice must be made...then thought must go into it. Much thought. It's still a sin...and the person will have blood on their hands. They took a life...and for whatever reason, that's something they must bear.

[She moves a rook, trying now to trap Estelle's bishop.]

Yes, that is a way to look at it.

[Many people have different opinions, but she respects every one of them.]

To take a life without remorse, I know that would be wrong. I don't think I could... not feel the weight of taking a life.

[She realizes her bishop is trapped and decides a different method. She'll move a knight.]

[Oh, that's interesting. ...Maybe going after the knight would be better? Hanyuu starts chasing after it with her rook instead.]

It is one of the most difficult sins to bear. It would be more concerning if you didn't feel that guilt.

[Like Kira. Like Kyrie.]

I imagine it would be. To kill without feeling remorse. I... I don't understand how people could ever come to feel that way.

[She'll move her knight closer to the opposing pawns.]

[Hanyuu, it seems, is very indecisive when it comes to chess plans, because she then moves a pawn so it won't be in danger.]

It's...hard, but I've seen my share of those who do. More often there's confliction, even the smallest amount. Sometimes...it's just how they work, or it's the product of circumstance. Sometimes it's desperation. Try as I might, it's something...I can't fully understand, just how it arises.

[She has to think now, too. The knight could end up being a sacrifice if she moves it, but it would also put the king in check. Not too hard to get out of check, but still something she could do.

She makes the move anyway. One of her chess pieces could probably take her knight.]

I have a friend... he murdered two people who committed g-genocide, but little to no lawful action was taken against them. So he figured that was the best option, even if it made him a criminal.

[And indeed, it is sacrificed.]

Did your friend think long and hard on what he did? On what he felt he had to do?
