WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

[ She's had a lot to think about over the weekend, and when she sees him she gives him a nod. Their last conversation is still on her mind, and at least things aren't as tense. ]

In fairness, we've never had to contend with the actual gods themsevles, outside of them probably not existing in the first place. So you're probably a bit more justified in being pissed off about it.

Well, yeah. I think I'd lose my mind otherwise; I don't handle being bored all too well.

[ He nods, gets into a stance and then rushes forward. The first thing that's apparent is that Killia is very swift, which probably isn't too surprising given his body structure. While normally he'd open with a flashy skill, he doesn't have any of those available to him here, so his first priority is to try to close the distance so he can Jasper. If she doesn't stop him or move away, he'll start with a quick jab, more to test her speed than anything else.]

That sounds like how the prinnies have to save their salary for sardines.

[ That probably does not make much sense, but it's the best he can equate it to.]

I switch between my fists and my sword usually, but I know how to use most weapons besides magic tomes.

Neither do I. But, that's why we all have to keep busy and try to occupy each other! [pause] It hasn't worked too well so far, but I am sure if we keep trying...

[He's being overambitious right now and will probably need to take a day or two off at some point, but this sounds fun!!!]

With your style, you're able to far more directly influence the power you put into each blow...whereas if you attempted to stab the person in front of you, the likelihood for failure would increase exponentially.

[It's interesting to watch and analyze either way.]

It would be best suited to finish off a weakened foe. I'm curious, however...do you have to switch your style to fight off foes who use another weapon?

That's correct! I have a difficult time against enemies who use lances, but those using axes are much easier for me. Were I fighting someone with a lance it would be a matter of switching tactics - brute strength doesn't work nearly as well when someone can keep you far enough away to avoid your attacks. In that case, speed and accuracy are more important. Landing precise strikes on weak points will ensure the most amount of damage possible while avoiding the lance's reach.

[In other words, PICK A GOD AND PRAY YOU GET A CRITICAL HIT.]

[Hanyuu approaches Judy, not stopping in her steady, slow steps until she reaches Judy, and then kneels down, one hand on Judy's head. She's not petting her, but rather just resting it there.]
