Trustfell 4: Trust Fall or Die Hard (

WEEK 4.
Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

Belius asks to be killed after Estelle tried to heal her, yet her power only hurt her. This power, this poison that she is.
Belius gave every chance so they could kill her without corrupting her, yet if Estelle hadn’t… if she hadn’t tried to heal her this wouldn’t have happened. It was all in the best intentions, yet…!
’I’m sorry… I… I…’
‘Worry… not… You were only thinking of saving me’
‘…Oh, I’m so sorry. I just…’
‘Power corrupts... But you, you are different. Never lose that kindness...the compassion you so readily show to others... Now, go to Phaeroh... If you would learn of your destiny...’
‘To Phaeroh?’
……
She wants to stay there, she can’t go on. To know she is… like this… it hurts to much!
‘No… I… I don’t want to go anywhere… My power... It really is a poison... I thought I could help her, but I only brought about her death. I couldn't save her...!’
It’s then that Yuri cuts himself and immediately Estelle goes to heal him. It’s automatic to her.
‘There, you saved me, didn’t you?’ He says it so calmly. Like it’s just a fact. But it’s enough for her to move on and try to find her destiny instead of giving up.]
-----------------------------------------------------
[That dream… So that was her secret. Yeah, she’s not sure if she could tell people, but in reality it’s not as bad as she made it. Still, she killed someone. Yet those words ‘Power corrupts, but you are different’. And the kindness she readily shows others. The memory she had the week prior still eats at her. How did she end up in a situation where she asked to be killed? What did she do? But she gets up anyway and starts her day.
The library is her first stop. She needs to not think so much and just wants to clear her head. Books allow her to do that. Though because she’s done that, she’s forgotten to eat breakfast. She doesn’t even realize this as she continues to read her book until later on in the day she decides she wants to move around a bit.
Whether someone brought her food or not, she’ll find herself in the kitchen making herself a simple sandwich. Just something so she can claim she’s made food for herself and eaten.
After eating, she goes back to room 29 with the book she was reading before. Her door is slightly ajar so people are free to enter. She’s just sitting on her bed reading and looks like she’s definitely in the second half of her book compared to the first half.
After the 10 pm chime rings, she can be found in the shooting range practicing the gun she has. Recoil isn’t getting to her as bad at this point and her shots are getting more precise. Maybe not quite accurate yet, but she’s also not all over the place like she was before. She’ll probably never be a pro, but she wants to be halfway proficient with the weapon.]

[ He had made a choice then, hadn't he. There was no other option with the raw power Bloodis had thrown at them, and Seraphina had jumped in front of him to try to shield him. What could he have done, other than that. But in doing so he had-- maybe that explained some things.
As soon as he's awake Killia leaves his room to move about and explore, hoping that there's something to distract him. Then he finds the dojo and it's just what he needed after that dream. He'll be spending the majority of the day here, practicing various combat techniques which are various punches and diving glides (using his wings even).
Eventually he realizes he should probably eat, but he's not in the kitchen for long as he's just making creampuffs like Gangrel said could be done. He's too high-strung for a proper meal today, and he pretty much eats and ditches as fast as he can.
Finally he'll spend the evening in the gym punching the hell out of the punching bag and not much else, as the weights don't interest him. When he tires of that he spends some time investigating the gym a bit, not really sure what he's looking for, but he told someone he would make an attempt at searching. He's mostly just poking around the machines, maybe someone left something of interest here (does the Wordsmith lift?)]

[He paused at the door of the gym, staring in at the man therein. He paused, unsure of how to approach. He'd opted to give Killia space after everything that had happened. But a week was enough, and worry churned in his gut.]
[Not that he'd let it show just yet.]
I think you killed it dead by now.

And, well, that's where they're gonna be for the entire damn day, because holy shit, that's a fucking pool, there's water in here. He'll be swimming like a fish for more or less the entire day, taking short breaks whenever he needs to, and this will make a few things very plainly clear. Silver's a damn twig under his clothes, for starters. For another thing, he swims like a damn fish. And finally, Weavile is absolutely adorable in the water; he stays in the shallow end holding onto the walls for a while, but occasionally he'll join in on the swimming. It's definitely not his forte, but he's an acceptable swimmer.
Someone might want to remind him about dinner at some point or another.]

Like the feeling of walking out into the hallway in front of Room 24 and actually having the realization hit you that the rooms to both your left and right are empty because their inhabitants are now dead. Yeah. That's a thing. He just... stands there for a while, not really sure what to do with himself. At least... at least no one across the hall is dead, right?
How long is that gonna last.
There's a new floor, probably, right? Yeah. Time to check that out... and what luck. Sure, he's still hurting for some good art supplies. But the second he walks in the gym, he scopes out the punching bag and has an epiphany.
So, he can be found in the gym for a not insignificant portion of the day, punching and kicking the hell out of that punching bag, which seems to have had a piece of duct tape attached to it with WORDSMITH written on it in all caps. His Masquerain is with him, and it... keeps fluttering frustratedly and ineffectually at it, eventually just slamming its face into the punching bag at some point.
...so after a few hours of that, he and Masquerain goto the pool to chill out a bit. Not swimming, not... doing anything taxing. Just chillin'.]

investigation
After that dream and getting ready, he'll be dragging his feet first but briefly towards the library to investigate. He'll start off by seeing if there was anything within those books that stood out.
Following that, he'll be making his way towards the dojo eventually. He really needs to get into shape, so he'll do some jogging in here, even if he's still waking up. He'll probably also be thinking of hitting at things at one point, but he'll likely be starring at the pads instead of hitting at it... ]

He's coming down off a rough weekend, and his dreams last night decidedly didn't help; the first place he goes after leaving his room sometime around noon is first aid, actually, for the sake of getting an absolute fucklot of bandages and proceeding to wrap his right hand with them. He's bleeding fairly openly, the skin over his knuckles having split quite a bit, and he's doing an absolute shit job of tending to this with his non-dominant hand but eventually he'll call it good enough for government work and just...try to move on with his day.
Not that the rest of his day is looking much better; the chemistry lab is generally always a safe bet when it comes to places to find him, but he's not even pretending to do anything productive in here right now – he's just got his elbows propped on the table and his head buried in his hands, his fingers tugging lightly on those shorter locks of hair at the top while he tries not to aggravate the injury he's already got.
Later in the evening he can be found in the bar, though he seems just as aimless there, really; he isn't drinking, he's just pacing the length of the bar itself, one hand trailing lightly along the edge of it before he reaches the end and just...turns around and goes back to the start, over and over and over and over.
...Maybe he'll be better off tomorrow. Either way, something's not going well in his head.]

"Hanyuu... What happened?"
"Hanyuu, did you see this time?"
"H-Hanyuu, what do we do...?!"
"Hanyuu!! Help me!!"
What's notable about today is that Hanyuu is nowhere to be found before mid-afternoon. Presumably, she's in her room. She might open up if you knock, but that's a big might. However, around three or four, she emerges, looking...haunted, is the appropriate and somewhat ironic word for this situation. She goes to the kitchen, moving on autopilot, and looks for something to eat. ...She's not in the mood to cook, and it seems she can't find anything suitable, despite the room being completely stocked with food.
After, she goes to the vending machine, where she gets a collection of items. It's...hm. The doll resembling Chiyuki that just pops out with the other items is what makes her stop, and she starts shoveling everything into the new bag she just got, though... Moving in a daze, she clicks the strange device, the voice recorder and-
Well, this plays out. She doesn't seem to be awake enough- or, alert enough to stop it. So, it finishes, and she stands there for a minute, face almost blank, and then she shoves it in the bag as well...and she'll be heading back to her room, for the rest of the day.]

For the rest of the day, Watanuki is in a considerably better mood. He is pretty much all over the school, either doing his normal routine or showing off the school to his newly-arrived friend. But he will also go right up to anyone he comes across, because he has someone to introduce to them.]

"Go ahead! I welcome it. Just know you were responsible for Big Sister's bloody demise! ...And what of the rest of you? Eh? Who wants the honor of killing the exalt? ...No one? Bah! Your merry band isn't quite so headstrong anymore, is it? Pathetic!"
"Damn you!"
"Now, now, my boy—no one needs die today. Not you. Not the exalt. Not your friends. Just lay down your sword, and give me the Fire Emblem."
"...I..."
"Chrom! You can't trust him!"
"Of COURSE I can't trust him! I'm not an idiot! But if I just say no, he'll kill her! The gods are cruel, damn them! My sister or my duty... A problem with no right answer, yet I must choose!"
Well that's disappointing. Why bother having an enjoyable dream when you don't stay asleep long enough to know how it ends? Ugh. Gangrel's definitely doing better this week though, since he's out of his room before noon and throwing some coins at the vending machine. Most of this stuff isn't interesting at all, but then there's one thing...]
Ugh. Really? How many of these are in there?
[He tosses the ridiculous outfit into the pile and takes it all back to his room because why the hell not. His stuff now.
After that it's time to explore. Gangrel isn't here for the pool at all. He takes one look in the room and immediately gets the hell out of there as quick as he possibly can without running. He's also gone much paler than usual, but he'll recover shortly enough, once he's found another room.
The dojo is exactly the kind of room Gangrel was hoping for, so he'll be spending most of the day in here. He'll lay out a few of those mats so they span the majority of the room and then he starts stretching. Once he's all warmed up he gets a running start and launches into a flip like it ain't even a thing. He doesn't stick the landing nearly as well as he should though, and after staggering for a moment he manages to catch himself before he can fall and break a nail or something.
It's been awhile since he had enough space to do something like this and it shows, but he looks exhilarated anyway.
If you catch him later, he'll have that Iron-Nicking Sword with him and he'll be running through sword drills. Despite his ridiculously long nails, he's actually really skilled with a sword! It looks like he's more concerned with wild, powerful swings than with any sort of form, though.]

She doesn't know how to even describe that. Clearly another memory, but what the hell does it mean? first thing is first, she checks out the new floor. She's surprisingly please with the dojo, and can be fond there for several hours, practicing her skills. While her fighting style is clearly not martial arts, she is still a brawler. She looks surprisingly graceful for such an obvious brawler.
Later on, she can be found in the pool. Keyword in. She's sitting at the bottom of the pool, seemingly perfectly okay with being underwater and not... needing to come up for air for some weird reason. Either way, she's not there for very long-- not long enough that it would become a real concern at any rate. She can be found drying her hair off with a towel no more than thirty minutes later.
And, of course, in the evening, she can be found in the bar, an empty glass next to her, examining an incredibly wicked set of knives with interest.]

Mercy is in an even better mood once she stops by the vending machine. She has a photograph, and she can't help smiling.
Later, she can be found looking over the infirmary - they've needed something like this. This is the kind of medical station she's more used to.]

investigation!
After a terrible Friday and Saturday, Viktor is doing better. Chiyuki's death still hurts him deeply, but the memory that came back to him is nice and motivates him to get out of bed in the morning and head to the vending machine with a handful of coins. Today's haul is an interesting one; the Chiyuki dolls make him frown because he did not need this painful reminder, but his expression softens when his phone falls out. He picks it up and immediately checks when the last photo on it was taken. ]
So I was kidnapped on December 14... [ He says to himself, not caring if somebody hears him. ]
[ A few hours later, Viktor can be found in the kitchen where he's in the middle of decorating a cake with whipped cream and strawberries. The realization that his birthday happened during the second week made him really want some cake, so he decided to make one as a late birthday present to himself.
In the afternoon, he explores the new floor and spends a few hours in the pool, swimming a few laps but he's mostly here to chill and lazily float around on his back.
Finally, Viktor decides to investigate the bar sometime in the evening. He starts off by checking the shelves where the booze is stocked to see if there's anything hidden behind the bottles. ]

It's too easy to imagine the Wordsmith saying that. Far too easy. But it's far from the only thing about it that weighs on Phi. All of it was accurate. There was no way she could have foreseen that...
"I'm the only one who should stay."
"Then..."
"Kill me. Kill me, and burn the remains."
Phi is visibly more down than she has been in the past few weeks as she gets a few things from the vending machine.
...None of those people had to die.
Of the rooms on the fourth floor, Phi has the most interest in the infirmary - at a glance it most likely has the most leads that might lead to getting out of here in a way that won't cause even more death.
"Six of us are... dead. Counting myself, there are only three left. They were killed. I... I guess you could say... I killed them. No... no, that's not quite right... Not just them. Not just these six... All of them. All six billion. Soon, I will have killed six billion people."
It was in a room a lot like this one she heard those words for the first time, though. As she walks out, though... she seems to have realized something, rushing back to her room, room 4, for a certain chart, then heading for the game room to make some updates.]

"You're the Viscount of Kirkwall now?"
"'What's the worst that could happen if we put the dwarf in charge.'"
The newest floor failed to hold Varric's interest for long -- it wasn't nearly the gift that the third floor had been. He tried at first to keep his mind off of the whole thing by practicing with the crossbows available to him in the shooting range, but it only served to remind him of duties better served. After picking up one of the bows from the room and collecting a fistful of arrows (and slinging one of the crossbows over his back), Varric made his way up to the workshop.]
[He'd been working intermittently since his conversation with Judy, and now he had something to show for it. He studied the bow, clamped in place to settle its curve, before loosening it. He grinned when the small thing held its shape.]
[Turning his attention to the bow he'd brought down, he cut the string free, and set to stringing up the new weapon. Once that was finished, he turned his attention to resizing the arrows from the room above.]
[He'd likely be hard at work in there most of the day.]

Sport spends pretty much the entire day on the fourth floor, excitedly exploring the new rooms like a kid in a sports candy shop. the dojo is absolutely perfect for flips, and the gym literally almost brings him to tears because these machines are so fancy and cool and he loves them so much... his mood falters a bit when he discovers the pool, standing at the edge and frowning at the water a bit...
he goes and changes into the provided swimming trunks-- still wearing his hat, tho-- and dives into the deepest part of the pool. and he'll just stay there for a little while.]

Investigation
With her foot as injured as it still is, she doesn't want to make the trek all the way down to new floor.
However, later in the day, she remembers Chiyuki's idea. And so the woman sets out to investigate the game room, starting with the shelves fr the board games and RPG books. She's already being doing this casually, but she decides to be a little bit more rigorous now.
