WEEK 4
Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira.

It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with.

Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices.

I don't talk to a lot of people around here - they don't seem like the sort that would get it, you know? Some of them do, though.

[...Ah, right, about that - ]

I should probably apologize or something, for getting all snappish at you during the trial. Jasper kind of... Well, she didn't let me have it or anything, but she kind of proved your point afterwards. About people getting upset if I die or whatever.

[OH WHEW. man. who expected jasper to be doing the heavy emotional labor here. carrying feelings in her big strong arms.]

You don't have to. It was... not a good time, I think. Everything started happening so fast, and the way you were talking... [scared him. a little.] I'm glad Jasper got through.

[a pause] I know I am definitely not someone who "gets it"-- I don't really get most things here to begin with... But, I hope you will still talk with me. I like talking with you.

...If you want answers about all of that, I don't mind talking about anything that was said back then. It's not going to piss me off or offend me or anything.

But I...

[He kind of hesitates for a moment; this is awkward, especially after Kira's...that.]

...Yeah. I like talking with you too.

I don't need any answers... But, if you want to talk about something, I am here to listen. I have been told I'm pretty good at it.

...Yeah. Yeah, I don't see why not, I guess.

[Which is better than nothing, really; at least he doesn't seem all that keyed-up about it for the time being.]

The dream last night involved a guy that reminds me a lot of Kira. Apparently he was my superior officer back home, he got me reinstated to the military and everything.

I guess I just took it kind of badly after everything Kira decided to be this weekend. That's all it is, really.

[nods]

[...what is that even supposed to mean]

What's his name? [pause] Hopefully he's not like him in a few ways.

[hand ways]

His name's Frank Archer; looks more like an Archer than a Frank, his given name doesn't suit him at all. He's weird, too, in that overly-serious sort of way, but he's not a serial killer or anything if that's what you're asking.

The dream I had was about a mission we're on right now.

He sounds nice! [kira but without the hand Thing. that sounds like an upgrade.]

What was your mission? [...] Unless it's top secret and you can't tell me.

[...Very much Kira but without the hand thing. Though Kira was also very much Archer but without the 'warmongering asshole' bit, so uh.]

Well, it's not like it matters too much because I ended up deviating from the mission anyway - I ran into some trouble, some guy that had been raising hell for the military for a while felt the need to interrupt.

[frowns] Why would he do that?

He was involved in a war against my country a while back. The one I was in ten years ago.

I fought him back then, and he's got it out for me now because of what happened.

[He seems pretty calm about all that, though.]

He's upset, then. [he says, not even beginning to comprehend.] Attacking you won't solve anything.

[...Yeah, it...about that.]

...He's kind of already attacked me.

[yikes]

Was he hurt? [beat] I mean, you're okay, obviously! I don't need to ask because I can see that!

Neither of us came out of it too well.

I mean, he's survived worse. He'll probably be fine.

I hope so... [v concerned for this anonymous angry man]

[...Sportacus, you are legitimately too good for anything his canon deals with and I am so sorry]

Well, yeah. I think I'd lose my mind otherwise; I don't handle being bored all too well.

Neither do I. But, that's why we all have to keep busy and try to occupy each other! [pause] It hasn't worked too well so far, but I am sure if we keep trying...

[Right, Sportacus is a superhero back home or something, isn't he...]

...I'm pretty sure the ones that went off would have done something no matter what we did for them. Sometimes people just...do, there's not much we can do about it.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't try to get people to sit down and not kill the hell out of each other, but sometimes it's not anyone's fault but their own if they do.

[Maybe Alani is the exception to that, who knows. But he's pretty sure there isn't too much they could have done for Kyrie and Kira either way.]

... I know. [he doesn't]

Still. We will never know how many murders we haven't had, right? There could be dozens of those! While we're all upset about the ones that did happen... It could be worse!

[that's his story and he's sticking to it.]
