Trustfell 4: Trust Fall or Die Hard ([personal profile] trustwellness) wrote in [community profile] trusthell2017-02-12 11:44 am

WEEK 4.

WEEK 4

Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira.

It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with.

Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices.

[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

[There's a good sized pause as he figures out how to reply to that, but he's back to drying himself off quickly enough.]

I'm still angry, but I'll survive.

[And that's what counts.]

What about you? You got pretty heated.
neverheardofhim: (troubled side look)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-13 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. [There wasn't much Varric could say to that. Telling him to hang onto his anger was hollow, not to mention hypocritical of him. He'd clung to his resentment of Anders for nearly a decade, and they'd been friends. He couldn't imagine what Silver must have been feeling.]

[But he also felt wrong saying that it was okay to be angry as well. That same resentment toward Anders had held him back for years as well.]

[Instead he said nothing, merely looking away as the boy finished toweling off. It wasn't as if the other conversation option was a pleasant one.]

Kimbley and I talked it out. [It hadn't resolved everything. Frustration and fear still chewed at his gut, and he was nowhere near trusting the man. He trusted Gangrel more than him.] You won't be finding either of our bodies this week. At least not because of each other.

Good. The less people that end up dead in here, the better.

[And a lot of people would be pretty upset if they had to vote for Varric.]
neverheardofhim: (shit eating grin)

I agree. [He nodded to the bowl of stew with something of a smirk.] Which is why you should eat up. Before we have to figure out what happens if someone dies of starvation here.

[He nods and takes the bowl. It takes a moment for him to look it over and smell it, but he eventually takes a slow bite.]

A night's not gonna starve me, but I'm not turning down good food, either.

[Of course, he does inhale his food, so it's not going to last very long, either, especially not when he's passing mouthfuls to Weavile.]

Thanks. You really like looking out for people, don't you?
neverheardofhim: (leaning over musing)

[With Silver eating, Varric saw no reason to argue with him. It was a good thing that he had opted for that, however, as Varric was not above attempting to force feed someone.]

[Which... with that thought in mind, he laughed at Silver's question. It was a pleasant sort of rumble, one that tapered off into a thoughtful smile.]

I have a routine back home. Wake-up, take care of business -- usually involving shooting demons and whatnot -- drink, and tend to my friends around camp. Up until last week, I could only do two of those things, waking and tending.

For me, it's just a matter of keeping sane.

Course it's not all about being self-serving. It's just... the way I am. I can't look at a girl like Orihime, or hell, even you and Gold and not think "Is there anything I can do." [Another laugh.] I joked with a friend once that the reason I couldn't run an effective spy ring is that I'm too caught up in the well-being of others.

I don't do the cold and distant thing very well.
feistytrader: (okay then)

[personal profile] feistytrader 2017-02-15 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
That kind of thing is gonna get you hurt in a place like this.

[It's not like he doesn't understand, and he'd be an absolute liar if he said he hadn't gotten attached to anyone here... Or wanted to look out for them, or... Damn. He shouldn't be preaching to some old short guy anyway.]
neverheardofhim: (troubled side look)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-15 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Though a laugh escaped the dwarf, there was no denying the sad look in his eyes. He looked away from the boy, out at blue water. Varric didn't need to wait until he got to Chronos for all that to bite him in the ass. It had back home, time and time again.]

Haven't you been paying attention, Red? It's already happened. [The smile that crept over his lips was a bitter one.] Brains during the first week we were here. Alani in the second.

It hasn't stopped me yet.
feistytrader: (not sure how feel)

[personal profile] feistytrader 2017-02-15 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's just gonna get worse.

[...He considers continuing that line of thought, then shakes his head, eats a little more, and adds-]

My name's not Red. [...] I know a Red. He's a lot better of a guy than me.

[That last part wasn't supposed to come out. Too late now.]
neverheardofhim: (pouts loudly)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-15 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Not if I have anything to do with it. [But it was an empty promise. Even if he had a crossbow in his hands again, even if he was doing all he could to protect his "family," he was still failing miserably. Someone else had died last week. He had a sneaking suspicion that someone else would die at the end of the week.]

[But that wasn't the kind of thing he was going to tell a kid. Empty promises would have to do.]

Sorry. [Admittedly, Varric actually looked a bit guilty at this.] It's the hair, that's all. I can find something else to call you.
feistytrader: (hi your window was open I swear)

[personal profile] feistytrader 2017-02-15 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
[...Oh. He's like Gold, isn't he? He just likes nicknames.]

It's fine. It's not like it hurt my feelings or anything. It would just be weird to hear someone suddenly call me Elda or something.

[For many, many reasons, but that's not the point.]
neverheardofhim: (shit eating grin)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-02-15 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
You mean that's not your name? [His response was quick and delivered with an almost impish grin.] But no, I can find something else. Can't guarantee it won't be more miserable than the first, but that's the risk we take.

[With no plans to go anywhere in the immediate future, Varric lowered himself to the ground, facing the younger man with that stupid smile still plastered on his lips.]
