WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

[ The first thing Orihime does the instant she hears someone scream is run to the source. If someone's getting hurt, if someone's in danger, she needs to help. She can stop it. She can save them this time and keep anyone from--

the laughter kicks in right after, and Orihime pauses. It...it was a false alarm?

Nevertheless, she enters the vending machine, looking highly concerned for whoever's in there and almost expecting there to be something horrible. But...it's just-- ]

Watanuki-kun...?

[foundfate]

Ah- Inoue-san!

[The funny thing is, despite Watanuki knowing that he has no chance in hell with her, he still finds himself smiling more when Orihime shows up. Something Mugetsu immediately notices, because. Well. Watanuki only ever does that around Himawari.

So Mugetsu looks back and forth between Watanuki and Orihime a few times, and then ultimately he jumps off of Watanuki entirely to try and land on Orihime somewhere. Maybe her shoulders or her arm.

He must inspect this new person hello there.]

Aaaah, don't scare her!

[introspects]

Y....You scared me, Watanuki-kun! I thought something bad--

[ And then Mugetsu jumps out at her and she yelps as it lands onto her arm. ]

Hii-! [ But she doesn't try to get him off, doesn't try to push him away. She was just startled, is all-- ] Um--w-what is this?

[foundfate]

[It's a small fuzzy snakes that is currently sniffing at Orihime, that's what.]

Don't worry! He won't hurt you, he's just curious. He's Mugetsu, and he's a spirit from my world.

[introspects]

Mugetsu?

[ Oh.

That's just too coincidental. She freezes for a moment, evident in how she doesn't say anything for a second, before she seemingly comes back to her senses. ]

I see. He's...friendly, isn't he? Haha!

[foundfate]

[...Well that was weird.]

Yeah, he's super-friendly. But, um, Inoue-san. Are you alright?

[introspects]

[ We aren't going to talk about that Mugetsu. However... ]

I'm alright--when I heard you scream, I thought that Watanuki-kun might have been--

[ There's a sad expression on her face now, just thinking about something horrible happening to him is enough to bring that out of her. She's really...come to care about him a lot. ]

[foundfate]

[Oh. Watanuki hadn't even thought of that.

He has the sense of mind to look guilty about that, at least?]

I'm sorry, I didn't even think of that. I must have really made you worry, for you to come running like that.

[introspects]

It's okay. I'm glad you're alright.

[ She'll at least give him a small smile before turning back to Mugetsu, who's crawled his way up her shoulder. ]

Ah, Mugetsu-chan... Do you want to go back to your owner?

[foundfate]

[Mugetsu makes an irritated chattering noise and boofs Orihime on the nose with his tail. She's got it all wrong, Mugetsu is the one who owns Watanuki.

Watanuki, however, just laughs and holds his hand back out for Mugetsu to come back to him.]

I guess he doesn't like the thought of being owned.

[introspects]

[ The little boop to her noise makes her giggle a tiny bit, watching as Mugetsu moves around; she holds her arm towards Watanuki, letting Mugetsu crawl off if he wants to. ]

Here you go, Mugetsu-chan. Watanuki-kun will take good care of you.

[foundfate]

[No complaints here, Watanuki will absolutely take good care of Mugetsu.]

It'll be okay, Inoue-san. You don't have to worry about me, alright? Mugetsu is pretty good about keeping me safe, and there's others here too. A-and if need be, you and I can stick together, to keep each other safe.

[introspects]

[ There's something about his words that's very reassuring. With everything that's happened over these past few weeks, she would be devastated to lose someone like him. (little does she know 3 of her friends are dying this week) ]

Then...do you want to sleepover in my room, then?

[foundfate]

[(More than 3, technically. Friday still has to happen.)

Watanuki looks a little embarrassed for a moment, and he glances away as he answers Orihime.]

Ah, well, sure. If it's what you want. We could do that tonight.

[Thursday night he has other plans, but the rest of the nights he is free!]

[introspects]

[ (whoops) ]

Okay! Do you want to go ahead and set up? I'll go with you so I can open the door!

[foundfate]

Sure, alright.

[He's only going to take his blankets though, not his mattress. Too much work to haul it down the hallway like that.]
