WEEK 4.
Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20 |

[OOC: Welcome to week four of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

You're certain? [...it gets the smallest hint of a smug smile.] I don't mind if it's simply a demonstration, and not a thinly veiled attempt at overachieving.

[He holds out one hand and brings the sword down hard on his palm. It doesn't leave a cut, obviously.]
The worst I can do is bruise you a bit with this. But I suppose you'll want me to avoid that as well, won't you?
[He's kind of smirking anyway. Though it probably would be fun to bruise Lusamine!!]

[It's a bit cryptically stated, but she's coming down. That sword can't be used to cut her hands off or something like that, so...it won't be the worst thing.
She's kicking off her heels--because she can only imagine how disastrous it'd be to do this in them--and she'll step on the mat.]
You're refreshingly obvious, actually. [After Kira at least, it's...not as biting as it seems like it should be...?] But I suppose it's good that you have some standards.

[You're also lucky you don't remind him of a certain Exalt!!
Anyway, once she's standing on the mats he'll set the sword down for a moment to pretend to hold a spear.]
Strike a pose just like this. The spear tip would be about... here.
[It's sort of a guess since most spear-wielders he fights aren't on foot, but it's close enough.]
Yes, it looks stupid, but humor me. That'll make the demonstration a bit easier.
no subject
...oh god, that looks...incredibly stupid.]
...You are incredibly lucky we don't have an audience.
[Just. Let her mimic the pose really quick while shaking her head. Spears are so stupid, it's official now, jesus christ.]
Right. Now, what's next?

So, if the end of your spear is here, [points again, like he's miming pressing his finger against the tip of the spear] and this is the length of my sword...
[He holds it out so she can see just how far away he is. The tip of his sword isn't close enough to touch her.]
It's very difficult for me to land a hit on you from the front. But! If I can dodge around you like this...
[Which he does, easily. He's now on her left side and he brings the sword up until the side is pressed against her waist.]
And you can't turn quickly enough to block. The same can be done from the back, of course.
[He backs up once he's done with that.]
It's simple enough, but not easy to pull off in combat.

Right, you would be too far away to take a strike...
[That's admittedly muttered to herself while he explains, and the movement is easy enough to follow. When he comes up to her side...huh.]
...If it weren't for the fact that this was the easiest method, I would ask if you truly hate spear wielders. I imagine that potentially being cut in half would be a grisly way to go.

Ugh, of course you would like a messy method. Doesn't that stuff simply get all over you?
