WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

[ Thank... well he wouldn't thank God but he is very grateful that the dojo exists.]

Are you going to train yourself?

[iaspis]

[She nods.]

I think so. I may be a warrior Gem, but that doesn't mean I don't need to keep my skills sharp.

[deofoled]

We can fight if you want, it's been too long for me too.

[iaspis]

[She nods.]

I would like that.

[She gets into a fighting stance.]

You can move first.

[deofoled]

[ He nods, gets into a stance and then rushes forward. The first thing that's apparent is that Killia is very swift, which probably isn't too surprising given his body structure. While normally he'd open with a flashy skill, he doesn't have any of those available to him here, so his first priority is to try to close the distance so he can Jasper. If she doesn't stop him or move away, he'll start with a quick jab, more to test her speed than anything else.]

[iaspis]

[Jasper is fast, but she's not super fast or anything like that. She's built to excel at brute force. She moves to block him; not to strike yet, just to attempt to block the attack.]

[deofoled]

[ She blocks his jab easily enough, which he's not too surprised about. He figures she has power behind her, but he might as well test that too as he transitions into a one-two punch with a decent amount of force behind it.]

[iaspis]

[The amount of force just barely manages to keep her on her feet; she stumbles noticeably, swearing. The force has shoved her back a good two feet. It's clear she's pleased, however, because as soon as she recovers, she's throwing a punch of her own, just to see how quickly he dodges it.]

[deofoled]

[ He's fast but he doesn't have much time to react to her punch, and she misses him only slightly.]

You're pretty good. [ He means it, and decides to wait for her next attack given the force he felt rush by him on the past one. It's a chance to study her moves too.]

[iaspis]

So are you.

[It's a compliment, because she values the skills of a warrior above all else. She goes at him again, this time with an uppercut. Again, she doesn't really think it'll connect, but sparring without causing actual lasting damage is fun in a way she hadn't considered before.]

[deofoled]

Heh.

[ His amusement is short lived as soon as she throws the next punch. It's another dodge barely, though this time it throws him off balance as he tries to recover. If she's quick enough, this is definitely her chance to land a solid hit.]

[iaspis]

[She moves in for another blow, then. If it does connect, she'll jump back to guard, clearly expecting him to counterattack.]

[deofoled]

[ It does, and owww she hurts. He's really not surprised, but he took the full brunt of that with his shoulder and he'll definitely be feeling that later. She's smart in guarding right after though, as he doesn't let the pain stop him from counter attacking. A straight up hit won't do with her guard, so instead he runs up to her, jumping at the last second to glide over her head. His wings are useful in combat when he has the room to utilize them, even if she has a couple feet on him in height. With any luck he'll get in a swift blow to her back if she doesn't turn around fast enough.]

[iaspis]

[Being a brawler means that Jasper is used to, well, other people with similar fighting styles to her own. That means she's not at all expecting him to glide over her head. She tries to spin around, but isn't quite fast enough.

The blow lands.

She curses in pain, but all that really means is that she's going to double her efforts and go in for another swift attack, regardless of where he currently is.]

[ He's positioned himself decently enough, but he hadn't quite counted on her going into overdrive. At least it's a glancing blow this time and not a direct one, and he's a mix between excited and annoyed at himself. It really had been too long since he had a proper fight, and he hates that he's slowed down even the tiniest bit (his skills being sealed not withstanding).

He'll follow her attack with a quick attack of his own, intent on going blow for blow with her.]

[iaspis]

[Blow to blow seems to be what she's been after all along.

If there's one way to keep your skills sharp, it's to be able to attempt to get an attack in and block at the same time, even if neither of them do manage to get in a sneak attack right now.

She's very clearly thrilled, so, hooray, maybe?]

[deofoled]

[ As the fight goes on, it's clearer that he is too-- no one else has really seen him like this (Gangrel got a glimpse), when he fights unihibited. Because when he fights, it's nothing like how he normally holds himself, but wild and unbridled.

Eventually they need to stop because there's probably a lot of hit trading back and forth, and this is supposed to be just an exhibition match after all. He's panting (and bruised) by the end of it, but hell did he enjoy it.]

...that was great.

[iaspis]

[Jasper looks excited, and cheerful once the fight has ended. She's panting, a little bruised, her hair is a mess, but she looks alive in a way she hasn't through most of the time here.]

You are an incredible warrior, Killia.

[deofoled]

I've had a lot of practice. You are too, you're faster than I expected.

[iaspis]

I'm glad to have such a worthy opponent here; we'll have to fight again sometime.

[deofoled]
