WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

I'm glad she had the compassion to act that way towards you, and knew you hadn't intended to kill her in the first place.

[ The relief in his person is clear as his expression shows the feelings well, before he eases into another smile. ]

But, it's good that you do. After all, I don't think I would want that to change at all.

[firstaid]

It's something that's hard to process. I hurt her, yet she called me kind and compassionate and told me to never lose those qualities.

[And those words keep ringing in her head.]

I would have let those memories get to me if it weren't for making friends here, friends like you. I fear for your lives, but it's because you're here that I find the will to keep fighting.

[tsugomori]

[ It's times like these that he's glad he was able to reach out to her in her time of need. If he hadn't ... what would have happened? The image of her saying those painful words are clear in his head, and he can't ignore them. He passes the moment to the side--what mattered is what he was able to do for her. ]

I'm honored to hear you say this. I did give it my all to ensure that you would continue to hold that will even now. It seems that regardless of what anyone has said, it's proven that by helping each other out when they need it most, it isn't in vain at all.

So I promise I'll continue giving my support, even now, right up until we finally make our way out of here. After all, our friends are waiting for our return, aren't they?

[firstaid]

Yes they are. We'll fight together and we will make it out of here. To see our friends again.

[She holds out her hand.]

So let's do everything we can to get out without doing what the Wordsmith wants of us.

[tsugomori]

[ Mikazuki steps closer and then reaches out with his hand, before poking at her hand playfully just once because he can. ]

... Oh by the way, what do you plan to do once we escape from here?

[Well, that definitely earns him a pout... Not how it was supposed to go even if it brings back memories. Her hand retreats back to her side.]

[firstaid]

Once we're out of here? [She has to think on that.]

I was hoping it would be as simple as returning to my friends.

[tsugomori]

That's understandable.

[ ... He saw that pout, so his attention is diverted from this now, and he steps unconsciously a little closer. ]

Miss Estelle, is there something wrong?

[firstaid]

[She shakes her head.]

No, I just... remembered something embarrassing is all.

[tsugomori]

Ahh... alright.

[ He sounds a little perturbed, like he might be a tad bit unconvinced, but, he'll just leave it. ]

As long as I didn't somehow say or do something insensitive then everything is alright, I think.

[ Mikazuki will take a seat beside her, though. He does kind of need to sit down. ]

[firstaid]

No, you didn't... I just... Nevermind, it really is an embarrassing memory.

[She blushes a bit, too. So yeah, it's looking like she really is telling the truth.

However, she smiles when he sits next to her.]

Was there anything on your mind today, Mikazuki?

[tsugomori]

[ He'll accept it, and resist the temptation to lean back onto a bed that wasn't his. ]

Well, I don't quite all that much was. I had a simple dream, in which I met an old friend once again, and his name is Kogitsunemaru. But it wasn't something I was dwelling on.

If anything, all I've been thinking about mostly are my friends, and wondering if they are doing alright. I suppose that is quite simple, isn't it?

[firstaid]

Even if it is simple, I think many of us are in the same boat. We're all wondering how our friends are doing and praying that they're not stuck in this same mess that we are...

[She sincerely prays for this.]

[tsugomori]

For some reason I have faith that they are certainly not. Or maybe I am being too optimistic again, hahaha~

[ He'll give her a sheepish grin. He can't help it, being like this, it seems. ]

[firstaid]

I would rather have you be optimistic than anything else. I want to believe they are not in this situation and are safe.

[She smiles at him. To be honest, she appreciates this a lot.]

[tsugomori]

[ It's good; someone has to be in bright spirits most of the time or at least calm even in the face of the most terrible thing said or done. ]

...There is an interesting saying, regarding faith and belief.

That is, if you believe in something hard enough, it will become the truth. So, let's continue to do that.

[firstaid]

Yes! Let's work and believe that we will find that truth we are looking for.

[Because it is so much better than believing in the worst possible scenario.]
