Trustfell 4: Trust Fall or Die Hard ([personal profile] trustwellness) wrote in [community profile] trusthell2017-02-12 11:44 am

WEEK 4.

WEEK 4

Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira.

It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with.

Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices.

We had to do a lot of things. There were nine of us at Dcom before that, but only eight of us woke up to find ourselves in the game. I guess the old man was too... disabled to really do anything, though.

[Seriously. Blind and deaf, what reason does he have to live...]

When we did, we were divided into three teams, we'd already put into distinct, isolated wards of a bomb shelter, and told that we could only get out once six of us were dead.

...Another game...like this...

[ That's probably even worse than this, judging by the sound of it. ]

And you're being forced to do something like that again, now. That's so horrible...

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-15 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
I won't deny that, as much as it gives me an advantage in terms of how much of this I can handle.

[Although that was more than just the Decision Game.]

It was how we got out that went badly.

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-15 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
...What happened?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ sort ominous_message)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-15 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
The game started at 12:00. Zero - the person running the game - had all three teams vote to execute one of the other teams. Anyone that got two votes... well, they were going to die.

Carlos, the leader of one of the other teams, sent a message through to the third team, who passed it on to us, to try to split the vote evenly.

But it didn't work. Carlos' team died.

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-15 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
So...one of the teams had betrayed Carlos-san. Is that right?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ ache)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-15 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it might be a trap.

[Whoops.]

Anyway, because of the rules we all fell asleep at 13:30. The next time we woke up it was 18:00.

[ Oh.

She wasn't expecting that--she...frowns, sort of shocked that Phi had done that but she can't blame her. It was a trust exercise. ]

And then what?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ worry)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-15 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess it might not be entirely right to say that... if anything did happen between those times I don't know about it.

My team was locked in the shelter's manufacturing room - don't ask why a bomb shelter has room for making robots, I don't know - and we nearly blew ourselves up trying to get the door open on account of there being a bomb in there too.

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-16 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh...oh, wow.

[ Dang, this is all really intense. Phi's really been through a lot, Orihime muses, though that game does seem way more high-pressure than this one. ]

Was there a bomb in there?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ mv mfg/bomb dcn/bomb)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-16 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
More than one, honestly. One of them was small enough to carry out, but it was still pretty big.

Now somewhere else in the ward was a decontamination room. There was only one entrance, since the door on the far side was welded shut.

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-16 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
...I see why you're so busy at work, now. That's a lot of things you remembered.

[ She always knew Phi was smart, but she had no idea this was the kind of thing she'd been through. ]

Go on.
plentyfriendly: (phi$ recur)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-17 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Not really. The execution voting period was an hour and a half, and I remembered that after the first trial we had here.

[This bit takes less.]

Anyway, the door on the other side of the decontamination room would have led to the exit to the shelter if we could open it. So... we took the bomb there and set the timer.

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-17 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
That's a very long time. Ours...doesn't take that long, does it?

What's the outcome of all of this, then?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ fuser unknown)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-17 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Zero claimed it was breaking the rules. "You are not allowed to leave by means other than the X-Door."

[A more... direct refutation than the Wordsmith's lack of other options.]

He did say the plan would work... but he moved Q-team to the other side, where they'd die because of it. Sigma tried to stop the bomb from exploding, but... he was too late.
introspects: (☠)

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-18 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
What? So...you had to find a specific door?

[ ... ] ...Does that mean that you...?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ return 0)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-18 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
We didn't exactly need to find the X-Door. It was always there, it was just password-locked six times over.

[They couldn't open it.]

The bomb went off. Eric, one of the people on Q-team, died instantly. The shrapnel tore off Sigma's arms and his right eye. I didn't really get a good look at Q, a mystery person I don't know anything about, but he looked like a little kid with a big round helmet.

Mira, on the other hand...
introspects: (☹)

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-19 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
...I see. So your game was more of a puzzle than here...

[ With a little bit of trust mixed into it, too. ]

That all sounds absolutely horrible, Phi-san. I...I wouldn't have guessed someone like you...

[ Whether you like it or not, Phi, Orihime's going to wrap her arms around you and hold you tight. ] What about Mira-san?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ recur)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-19 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say that for other reasons. Disarming the really big bomb was certainly puzzling... but the condition for getting the passwords was "someone dies".

["If six people die, you can get out!"]

As for Mira, she died in my arms... but not before giving me a horrible disease.
introspects: (pic#8947652)

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-19 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Still-! That's--that's not fair at all!

[ What is with all of these games designed to kill people? What is wrong with people nowadays? ]

What? What disease?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ vi concern)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-19 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. Although that's how he put it himself...

["Life is simply unfair, don't you think?"]

Radical-6. The same disease that I knew would kill six billion people if it got out.
introspects: (pic#9099129)

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-19 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
So...that's something like a plague, then, if I'm hearing this right?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ ls self)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-19 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Close enough...
introspects: (☹)

[personal profile] introspects 2017-02-19 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
[ Orihime hugs Phi a little tighter. ]

You shouldn't be here, Phi-san. Not at all...
plentyfriendly: (phi$ worry)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2017-02-19 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't change the fact that I am. And I'm going to do what I can.

[Whatever that is.]
