WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Kimbley doesn't really pause in what he's doing, nor does he look over, but he does shake his head a bit at the comment.]

Yeah, I know. Just thinking about things.

The bar's an interesting place for that. Didn't feel like trying to sleep yet, I take it?

[Let's see here... uh. Hmm. He should definitely pick something that wasn't involved in the trial, so... Whatever, he'll just pick the first thing he sees because it's not like he's ever cared about the exact kind of alcohol he consumes.]

Do you want any?

[And that'll actually get him to look, the clink of glass as Gangrel picks something, and while he's still sort of out of it and not exactly answering the question, he'll at least say something.]

...Do you want me to make you something? I did a stint as a bartender for a while.

[plegia]

[He tips his head a bit at that before shrugging and moving so Kimbley's got room to work.]

Go ahead. We don't have anything quite like... all of this [handwave to indicate all the alcohol and the bar in general] back home.

[It's a bit Much.]

[He'll make his way over, taking one of the smaller sleeves of matches from the storage room out of his pocket before he does so, setting it on the countertop before pulling down a few things - blue curacao, white sambuca, green chartreuse - and locating a pair of glasses, one of them a standard rocks glass, the other a large brandy snifter. He begins pouring the alcohol into that last one as he talks.

Trust him, he's going somewhere with this; either way, mixing the drink seems to be settling him a little.]

So what do you guys have? Just standard booze, none of the fancy stuff?

[plegia]

[He'll move to sit on one of the stools at the bar, watching as Kimbley works.]

Yes, exactly. Even that we have problems getting sometimes, since we usually import it. Plegia is almost entirely desert; we make a living on trade.

[alchemicals]

That's how Xerxes used to be, I think, before it disappeared - it was on a trade route between Xing and...god, it must have been Aerugo back then? Aerugo and Ishval, somewhere in there.

Granted, Ishval isn't much of a country anymore.

[He tips the brandy glass over onto its side, holding onto it and balancing it lightly on the rim of the rocks glass such that none of the alcohol falls out; he takes the matches and proceeds to ignite the alcohol before picking up the brandy glass by its stem and swirling it around a bit, then pouring it into the rocks glass, creating a veritable small waterfall of blue fire cascading down as it goes.

Once it's poured out he covers the rocks glass with the brandy snifter, letting the flames burn for a while, eating at the alcohol still lightly coating the snifter before it starts to die out a bit from the lack of oxygen.]

Let it burn out, and then take the top glass off and breathe the fumes in before you drink it. It's worth the wait.

[This is absolutely fascinating to watch, but he's actually managing to refrain from breaking into mad laughter again. That's kind of his default when things get set on fire, but.]

That's incredible! Are these the sort of drinks you made for people? How wonderful!

[He'll follow Kimbley's instructions though, since this is clearly some kind of Experience.]

[Gangel's a good-sized guy, he's pretty sure he'll be able to handle it. But the result is the kind of fumes-and-booze experience that puts lesser people on the floor, let's put it that way.]

Sometimes. I could do stuff with my alchemy that would make it burst on its own, too, that tended to be fun.

[whoooooo holy shit it's a good thing he's not a lightweight but damn]

Perhaps you'll get an opportunity to show me that sometime, hmm?

I'd like that, actually.

[For a lot of reasons.]

I've been really pissed off about my alchemy not working here, so having it back in general would be great. Guess it's obvious why the Wordsmith did...whatever he did to cut me off, me and Kira both, but it's pretty annoying either way.

["Annoying." About as much of a euphemism as "hurting people" and "fireworks" by now - he doesn't have a lot of tact, that much is true, but he's figured out how to temper his speech a bit somewhere along the line.]

I can only imagine. I don't have any special skills like that. He took my sword away, but that isn't quite the same as what you have going on.

[It's probably best to avoid mentioning Kira, if only because he'll be tempted to start laughing again...]

Yeah, I'd say not.

...You have any dreams this weekend?

[It's not a graceful subject change, but here we are anyway.]

Yeah, I did. At least this time it was a good one and not confusing like the others!

You know what, at least that makes one of us that isn't completely confused. Congratulations, sincerely.

[He'll give a slight bow at that. It would probably be sweeping and over-the-top enough to knock anyone off of a chair if they were sitting nearby.]

I'm very pleased to have that much figured out, at least! Perhaps your memories will also make sense in time!

Better if they don't, at this rate - I'm all right with it just being an absolute carnival of out-of-context shit. Who knows, maybe it'll keep my life interesting now that I can't annoy the weird bastard with the hand fetish.

[Holy shit, a mention of Kira that isn't completely depressing, clearly life moves on.]

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to keep your life interesting besides ridiculous memories. But now I'm curious... Would you care to share any of your out-of-context dreams?

The ones I've had really just prove that I need better taste in people or something - I'm pretty sure I was so interested in following Kira around because he reminded me of a guy I knew back home. He's my superior officer now, I guess, because he got me reinstated to the military.

For some reason.

...Knowing damn well that I killed my last set of superior officers.

Well that just sounds like a terrible decision, but perhaps he was stupid enough to believe he'd be the exception! People that arrogant are such a pain, aren't they?

[...He's been doing such a good job at keeping a reasonably straight face, but no. No, that is going to be what actually gets him to laugh, even if he looks a little like that particular reaction startled him at first, it was so goddamn unexpected -

Well, since you shared one of your memories... I suppose I can tell you about what I just remembered!

[you just wanted an excuse to talk about yourself shut up]

Apparently we went to war with Ylisse at some point and while I did have a dream about capturing the Exalt - that's their leader - and their capitol city, we were in Plegia for some reason. We're planning on executing the Exalt for her crimes against my people and because she's a self-righteous pain in the ass who needed to die at least five or ten years ago.

So her darling little brother, the ever-tenacious Prince of Ylisse - whom I had forgotten all about because he leads and army called the "Shepards" and if that's not an embarrassing name for an army, I don't know what is - comes charging in and I suppose we probably fought at some point, but I don't remember that. My tactician took out most of his flying troops to save the Exalt so I handed him an ultimatum.

His sister's life or the Fire Emblem. He wasn't taking it too well! But then the dream ended, which was a bit of a disappointment.

...So is your life just...constantly that interesting, or is this a special case?

Oh no, this isn't nearly as dull as my life usually is! I've been trying to start a war with these infuriating, peace-loving dastards for years! Normally the only thing I have to look forward to are assassination attempts! Gyahahaha!
