WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. [Judy blinks a time or two, looking up at Hanyuu curiously.]

Oh. ...thank you, that's...really flattering of you to say, actually.

[Judy can feel her heart clench at his words, and outwardly her paws tighten into fists, just briefly.]

I'm sure you won't. And you're really the last person here I could think that would ever hit someone, even on accident.

An accident... [see this is the problem with not moving around constantly and incessantly. you start having time to think.]

If there was, just an accident... What do you think he would do? There haven't been any accidents. Everything's been on purpose.

[ Jasper's voice is quiet, barely there, almost drowned out by her sorrow; but somehow, shakily, she finds her way to her feet. She doesn't move, eyes still fixed on the spot where Mercy was taken away. ]

She's gone...

He must have seen something pretty special in you then, if that's the case. [The dwarf's expression softened, and the look he gave Killia was one of absolute seriousness. When he finally did smile, it was one of the gentler sorts.]

He was a good man. I told him I would have a beer and tell him more about Bianca, but it never happened. I... regret that.

[With Silver eating, Varric saw no reason to argue with him. It was a good thing that he had opted for that, however, as Varric was not above attempting to force feed someone.]

[Which... with that thought in mind, he laughed at Silver's question. It was a pleasant sort of rumble, one that tapered off into a thoughtful smile.]

I have a routine back home. Wake-up, take care of business -- usually involving shooting demons and whatnot -- drink, and tend to my friends around camp. Up until last week, I could only do two of those things, waking and tending.

For me, it's just a matter of keeping sane.

Course it's not all about being self-serving. It's just... the way I am. I can't look at a girl like Orihime, or hell, even you and Gold and not think "Is there anything I can do." [Another laugh.] I joked with a friend once that the reason I couldn't run an effective spy ring is that I'm too caught up in the well-being of others.

I don't do the cold and distant thing very well.

I think Estelle has been in and out of here a few times. [She wasn't always playing with the bows either, but he figured Judy didn't need to know that. He was certain that the astute officer had noted the presence of bullets by now.]

Most of the warriors I've talked to here prefer their fists or blades. I suppose that's their preference, but distance would be mine. Plenty of time to retreat of something goes wrong. [He moved toward the stairs, working slowly downward to the newly opened floors.]

Maybe if she can fit through that opening there.

[Watanuki is standing up now, Mugetsu riding on his shoulders.]

Or if she could fit into one of those pokeballs.

[Well then. He was going to get it anyway, so.]

Why would they give out a sheathe but not a sword to go with it? That doesn't seem practical.

[Even if Mikazuki seems happy about it.]

Ah- maybe that's why he seems to like you. He must be able to smell your pokemon on you, so he knows you're a kind person.

[Watanuki is totally explaining the bar as he walks in.]

Yeah, this is where all the booze is. But don't just go drinking everything, it's for everyone, and-


[He stops when he sees that Gold is in there too. If Gold looks up, he'll be able to see Mugetsu riding on Watanuki's shoulders.]

Oh! Is that a new pokemon, Gold?

Oh yeah, good point.

[GOOD Mugetsu is safe from murders and such. Watanuki looks relieved now.]

[It's a small fuzzy snakes that is currently sniffing at Orihime, that's what.]

Don't worry! He won't hurt you, he's just curious. He's Mugetsu, and he's a spirit from my world.

It's true. They should say it more.

[A somber smile.]

How long have you been doing this?

Four, I think. I mean, unless I caught a new one and straight up don't remember it. That would not surprise me.

[introspects]

Ah, Katsuki-san...

[ He looks so happy with Makkachin. Orihime can't help but wonder what sort of life they're leading with Viktor gone, and a part of her misses that sort of happiness. There's something about that image that seems pure, untouched and simple; a life that Orihime has been missing during her stay here. ]

Makkachin is big, isn't he? They look like they're having a good time.

[introspects]

Of course.

[ Hanyuu didn't even have to ask. She shuts the door quietly behind her, removing her shoes near the front as she patters into Hanyuu's dorm. She notices that the blankets are everywhere, which...may or may not be typical of her, who knows, but Orihime sits down across from her. ]

Do you want to talk about it?

I don't believe that was the intention of the story.

[Though she does get the 'body image problems' part.]

Though that story sounds like The Noble and the Dude. It's the story about two dogs who meet and fall in love, right? And I believe there was a scene with pasta involved.

[introspects]

Mugetsu?

[ Oh.

That's just too coincidental. She freezes for a moment, evident in how she doesn't say anything for a second, before she seemingly comes back to her senses. ]

I see. He's...friendly, isn't he? Haha!

[firstaid]

Even if it is simple, I think many of us are in the same boat. We're all wondering how our friends are doing and praying that they're not stuck in this same mess that we are...

[She sincerely prays for this.]

[firstaid]

[She can't even imagine how that feels to be a god and be powerless. What she feels about not being able to heal others is likely nothing in comparison to how Hanyuu feels.]

I wish I could stop the killing here, too. Yet... something outside of our power keeps motivating others to kill for one reason or another. All of us here have been made to be on equal playing grounds.

[Thinking about that is... terrifying.]

I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to, however, it would be nice.

[And it's a way he can help her and say he did all that he could if she kicks the bucket.]

I have to use the resources I've been given here. And fists are something I do have, so why not learn how to use them?

[firstaid]

[She'll pet the spirit again.]

Yes, I see no reason to believe he'll be harmed. Besides, who would want to hurt him anyway?

So in other words, they do have an odd fashion sense.

How intriguing. Something that's not magic that's capable of that.

I wonder if Rita has studied anything like that? [She's talking to herself here.]
