WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. There's still an hour. You can make a bunch of beef bowls.

[It's gone! Everything is exactly in the shelf as it should be, but the plate is gone.]

[She's not really searching him out, but well, Hanyuu passes the chemistry lab and spies a familiar form and...

And she approaches, footsteps loud as usual.]

You are...not mixing anything today?

[And so he is. Granted Varric had half of a mind to shoo whoever was at the door away but... that wasn't exactly his style. After setting down a pilfered bottle of booze, he moved over to the door and opened it.]

How can I help you, Goldie? [His voice definitely sounded worn out.]

[ Orihime only vaguely knows about Rika, but this breaks her heart. She hears the sadness in Hanyuu's voice. She doesn't know what to do except put a hand on her back and rub it soothingly. ]

Hanyuu-san...

Hawke is a talented woman but... not that talented. [Surprisingly, Varric spoke with a fond smile. Better than all the emotional grumblings of the previous weeks.] Maybe my brother though? Wouldn't that be a blighted mess.

[ Give her a moment to think. ]

Originally, there was just Bhunivelze. He created Etro, Pulse, and Lindzei. Etro didn't have any powers of her own, but Lindzei and Pulse did. There are two worlds where I come from--Cocoon, which Lindzei created, and Gran Pulse, which Pulse created, obviously. Etro received no powers from Bhunivelze, because he regretted creating her. But Etro tore herself up because she yearned for Bhunivelze's attention, and from her, the first human was created.

She was kind, though, and she liked humans. So she watched over them.

As for the later Fal'Cie, Phoenix maintained Cocoon's weather. Carbuncle produced food, Eden maintained all Cocoon's functions and was the seat of power there, Leviathan provided Cocoon with pure water. On Gran Pulse, Dahaka searched for Etro's Gate, Titan produced powerful critters, and Bismarck protected a certain part of Gran Pulse.

Then... there was Orphan. Orphan wanted to die. Since he kept Cocoon afloat, killing him would send Cocoon into Gran Pulse and open Etro's Gate, which would've killed a lot of people from all the Chaos that came out of it.

Orphan's the one we fought and killed.

[alchemicals]

[Oh, hey Hanyuu.]

Just trying to keep my head clear for the time being. Today's been kind of on the interesting side.

[...Incentive and all.]

[That didn't go as well as he hoped. Oh well then, changing the subject and moving onto something a little more pleasant? A lot more pleasant, really. Varric never passed up the opportunity to talk about Bianca.]

The most beautiful thing you'll ever meet. She and I killed all kinds of darkspawn, bandit, dragonlings, hell all manner of things together. One of a kind girl, she was.

The crossbows here aren't anything like her.

With our luck, he might try and make a room filled with quicksand, now.

So far, the rooms have seemed randomly assorted. I wonder how long it took him to change the appearance of the rooms in this place.

[ We aren't going to talk about that Mugetsu. However... ]

I'm alright--when I heard you scream, I thought that Watanuki-kun might have been--

[ There's a sad expression on her face now, just thinking about something horrible happening to him is enough to bring that out of her. She's really...come to care about him a lot. ]

okay. so he'll go and look through the other plates and see if he can find that one.]

That...doesn't sound like it ended well. Just to take a guess.

Yeah, probably. Maybe we'll just toss 'em in the incinerator or something.

[You'll find that all of the plates look brand new, there's no Skull logo on any of them.]

That means he must be a very likable person; he's really lucky to be with someone like you.

[ Viktor and Yuuri = otp tbh. ] I'm sure Makkachin's happy about that, too.

Because it's the right thing to do. You can't just leave a person in a hole, even if they dug it themselves. [that sounds like a metaphor but is entirely literal.]
