WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Uncomfortable isn't the right word. [ He's staring past her, clearly thinking of someplace else. On the otherhand, he hasn't rebuked her questions yet.]

[ Killia hasn't laughed in years, but he can't help but make an amused sound at Mikazuki's words. He also leans into him a bit as a result, though he doesn't let go of the other man's hand.]

Huh? What about them? [ Is it any surprise he's not following the line of thought here.]

[There's really not much more to say than that.]

[That would actually be easy to do, Mugetsu is one to go off on his own sometimes.]

Donburi, if you're not tired of Japanese food yet.

[To be fair, he's rarely made the same dish twice since they've all been there (excluding the eternal Katsudon for Viktor), so it's not like they're eating exactly the same thing every day. But Watanuki does know that people can get tired of eating food that's different from what they're used to. Watanuki himself would go crazy if he had to eat hamburgers and pizza every day.]

It's not something that can be done until we're out of here, but if her ghost is still around- which it should be, ghosts last for a long time- then I can find it.

[He pauses there for a moment. Why did he say 'I' instead of 'Yuuko'?]

It's not the same as having her alive again, I know. But it would be a chance to talk with her, at least.

I know a little bit. I, um, I haven't experienced it first-hand, but it's been explained to me. The idea that two worlds are almost identical, except one tiny thing is different between them?

[ Honestly it is no surprise that Killia isn't following the same thought, but it's okay with him. ]

Yes, that's a way of saying it. [She sniffs.] It... The way I'm familiar with it, it's a little...more nuanced. I-it could start with one tiny thing...but more and more details can shift, and change. They're... They're called fragments, different fragments of a...a world, a scenario.

That's...how I use my power. I, a-and Rika...we go from one to another, where the scenario seems to be...each year, in June of Showa 58, she's killed.

[ There's a lot of thoughts he has about that, some more complicated than others. It's not an easy question for him to answer, but it's actually not for the obvious reasons. He squeezes Mikazuki's hand while he's thinking, though this time it's on purpose.]

[ Because that totally actually matters, he spends way too much time walking back and forth!]

Oh, I wasn't stuck with that needle back then. It comes a lot later.

Eight of us got out mostly because Sigma and I were collecting information from a bunch of different timelines.

Dio was a terrorist. He planted bombs throughout the facility, and we got the passwords to disarm the bombs. Well, that and the fact that he was a terrorist in the first place.

Not at all, as long as you hold and throw it correctly.

There's no way I could return to serving Homeworld, now.

If he was telling the truth that he wasn't a demon, he had to be an angel. He definitely wasn't a human. They can hide their wings if they need to, they do it when they go to the human world.

Totally is! But the Professor makes 'em himself, and they're expensive to get made, so it's only for the people he thinks worth it.

His horns were certainly fake and he swore me to secrecy. Honestly, I didn't think much of it at the time - I'd never thought I would meet a real demon.
