While the week may not have been everything that was hoped for, it hasn't been met with much tragedy, either; things have been solved, things have been found, and once again, the week has passed without interference from the executioner. Overall, it hasn't been too bad; however, that doesn't mean that things haven't been strained in some way or another – the incentive and all of the deaths you've been dealing with over the past several weeks are surely taking a toll of some sort on the group. The chimes ring out on Friday morning, as they always do; the morning is quiet, but that doesn't mean that things have been uneventful. The third floor is probably enough indication of that, actually. Don't worry, it's not like there's blood thrown around or bodies in the hallways; just the same, that doesn't mean the night passed easily for all of you. You know. Hanyuu takes a moment to compose herself and...approaches Vanille's body. Where to start...? There's blood around her mouth, yes? How about there. Let's examine Vanille's mouth and face.]

[Again, there's trace amounts of blood around her mouth; she doesn't seem to have had a steady open blood flow there, not enough to imply that there are open wounds on or around her face - more like she was probably coughing or spitting blood at some point or another.]

[...Alright then, before we get into opening the mouth of the dead girl, Hanyuu's going to look over her for any obvious wounds, defensive or otherwise. Bruises, cuts, anything that could point to a sign of a struggle.]

[There's nothing to indicate that there was a struggle, but her positioning does seem a little odd, all things considered.]

[Odd how? The way she's sitting, or something to do with her limbs?]

[Both, really.

You know how when you put your head down, either because you're feeling sick or want to sleep, you'll generally put your arms down in some way to help you balance and probably cradle your head a bit? She doesn't seem to have done that - her head is turned to the side like she's resting, but her arms are down, angled in a slightly odd way between her body and the table, one of her hands resting a little haphazardly in her lap and the other down towards her side.

She's also leaning so far over the table that it's pressing up against her chest, in a spot below her ribcage that would definitely be uncomfortable to sustain for any period of time.]

[Alright that sure is odd. Is there anything else about her posture - or the chair and table actually - that's strange? Something that may indicate she'd been placed there?]

[For what it's worth, there doesn't seem to be any blood around, so that's a little odd as well.]

[Not even on the table?]

[It doesn't look like it, no.]

[Yeah, there it is. Okay, is it- ...you know, is it time to smell around her mouth god I never thought I'd have to ask something like that.]

[If you're looking for the scent of garlic, you're going to be rewarded today, because that's what you're getting.]

[ Well, Hanyuu was taking the body. So Elda sets out to see if there's anything else amiss in the bar. Anything immediately obvious at a glance? ]

[The majority of the bar is fine, actually! Everything you're looking for can be found at the table where Vanille's body is! There are two things sitting out there - a bottle and a notebook. What do you want to look at first?]

[ Oh good, so she can continue to hover around this body examination. Well, let's look at this notebook! Notebooks tend to be more suspicious, right? ]

[It looks like your ordinary notebook! There doesn't seem to be anything immediately off about it.

[It looks like the notebook is Vanille's! Her handwriting can be found in it anyway. Nothing written in the front is important though, but as you're flipping through you'll find a few pages ripped out and if you keep flipping, you'll find some folded pages with ripped edges shoved in the notebook.]

[ ... Dead people don't get privacy except Chiyuki so let's keep on flipping, note where the ripped pages are, and then look at the folded pages shoved in there. Anything on them? ]

[There is indeed! There are notes! They read:

Silver and Vanille's Kitchen Adventures!
- sugar cookies, but make sure to keep the stronger flavorings away for now
- pies!
- could we make a cake out of creampuffs?
- make sure he knows not to turn the temperature too high
- safety notices, perhaps a list?
- go through the uses of utensils and such, another list?
- curry (ask Estelle)

There's something a little odd about the handwriting though.]

[ Oh dear, what could be odd about it? Elda will certainly try to examine what she can without her document, but if necessary... well, she'll get it in time for the trial at least out of her room. ]

[It's definitely obvious even without the document - the handwriting here looks very close to everything else in the notebook but for some reason it's shaky-looking. There are some points where the ink has seeped through the page a bit too much and others that are incredibly light. Basically, it looks a little weird.

There's also something weird about the ripped edges...]

[ So this was being written under suspicious circumstances, maybe? She sort of looks at it from a few different angles, even turning it over to see where the ink bled through. She considers flipping through the notpad again to try to find the page the ink might've bled onto but it's at that point she notices the oddity of the edges.

What's odd there? ]

[That's just it, actually - there is no place where the ink bled through. The edges of the pages are telling the same story - they don't match the ripped pages in the notebook itself.]
