WEEK 7 Oerba Dia Vanille, Phi, and Gangrel have joined the deceased, dropping your number even further. This is the second week that the death toll has risen by three, just by way of murder alone. With well over half of your number deceased, how much longer can this go on? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... As before, it seems that door at the bottom of the stairwell has been unlocked, allowing you to descend even further into the depths of the university; perhaps the new floor holds something promising for you. Or perhaps you'll "christen" this one with another murder. Given the current pattern, that probably wouldn't be a surprise. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 12

[Watanuki will be around, mostly in the kitchen and in the workshop. He's not playing anything, though. He's gathering materials for something.

By night time he is in his room, setting up for something. He has a knife from the kitchen and several different tools from the workshop. He also has a bowl of cooked rice, a bottle of liquor from the bar, and two pieces of paper (one that says YES and one that says NO) with him. After the clock has chimed for the night, he sets to work trying to pry up one of the floorboards in his room.

The Wordsmith only said something about destroying the walls. Trying to get to where Kageshirou might be by going through the floor isn't against the rules. Plus this is the highest level of the school, if he manages to get through the floor the furthest he'll go is into the second floor anyway.]

[You'll manage to get one of those floorboards up a bit, sure - they are just standard floors, after all. And eventually you'll actually get what you want - some of that black...crap makes its way up through the cracks that have been created, little tendrils reaching out and feeling around like it's trying to see what on earth is going on up here.

[Yes good. Watanuki offers Kageshirou a smile, and he scoots the bowl of rice over towards him. A peace offering of sorts.]

Hi. Feel like talking for a bit? I had something I needed to ask you.

[...Oh. It remembers the rice, it looks like, because it kind of creeps toward it and-

...

And it does the thing again. Just. Rice. Entire bowl. Gone.]

[Welp. There's fewer people to feed here anyway, so they won't miss that bowl.

Taking that as a sign that a conversation can happen, he scoots the papers forward, and identifies which one is 'YES' and which one is 'NO' for Kageshirou.]

Today the Wordsmith said he would eradicate the dead if we didn't kill someone by Friday. Can he actually do that?

[For a moment it doesn't seem too interested in answering, instead focusing on important tasks such as "just kind of pooling a bit on the floor" and "rippling a little"; after a moment, though, it'll answer.

[That is such an important task, Watanuki doesn't mind waiting. It helps that he's also learned a lot of patience in the last few weeks.]

Okay, thank you for telling me that.

[He'll have to share that with the others too.]

Do you know what 'reincarnation' is?

[trustwellness]

[YES.]

That's what I'm trying to do for my friends, the ones who have died. They seem to think they can come back to life, but.

[He's not going to hold out hope for that.]

I'm going to leave here, and if they don't come back to life, then I'm taking their souls with me. That way they can at least be reincarnated.

My question is, when I leave here, do you want to come with me too?

[That gets a confused look from him.]

Is it because you like the form you have now, and don't want to be reincarnated?

[trustwellness]

[That gets neither a yes nor a no, regardless of how long you wait.]

[foundfate]

[He waits a good minute or so before speaking again.]

Because if you would rather stay like that, or if you have some kind of shape-shifting power you haven't shown off yet, you could come with me and not do the reincarnation thing, if you wanted. Would that be better?

[trustwellness]

[NO.]

[trustwellness]

[YES.]

[Well that. That sure is a thing.]

You won't be lonely here? We're all leaving eventually.

Since you don't want to go with us, do you have a wish I could grant for you instead?

[He's done it once already, as far as he remembers. And he didn't even need magic to do it! So maybe he can grant a wish for Kageshirou instead.]

[Ok look literal spirits without physical form have wishes in Watanuki's world, it's a reasonable thought to him.]

That's...honestly the first time I've ever heard of something like that.

[Well there go his plans of asking for Kageshirou's help in exchange for getting him out of there/maybe granting a wish for him. Or maybe he could just ask?]

I don't suppose you would help me with something out of the goodness of your heart, would you?

We're going to escape from here. I don't know how yet, we're still working on that part, but we will escape.

When we do, I need to find the others. The ones who are dead, I mean. I promised to save them, to take them home to their worlds, so that they can be reborn or pass on or whatever happens to the dead in their world. I don't know where they are, but you do.

When it's time, and we're escaping, will you either take me to where our dead friends are or so me the way to get there?
