WEEK 7.
Oerba Dia Vanille, Phi, and Gangrel have joined the deceased, dropping your number even further. This is the second week that the death toll has risen by three, just by way of murder alone. With well over half of your number deceased, how much longer can this go on? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... As before, it seems that door at the bottom of the stairwell has been unlocked, allowing you to descend even further into the depths of the university; perhaps the new floor holds something promising for you. Or perhaps you'll "christen" this one with another murder. Given the current pattern, that probably wouldn't be a surprise. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week seven of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]
TUESDAY
INCENTIVE
[It's the usual announcement, but today it sounds more like an order than a suggestion. But as always, wherever you are in the building the message is the same.]
I should hope, Apprentices, that by now we are well enough acquainted for those of you remaining to know not to take me for some kind of fool. If your goal was to communicate in secrecy behind my back, you failed in truly spectacular fashion.
I am going to outline this for you in explicitly clear terms. If none of you invoke Rule Seven by the end of the week, then your departed fellow Apprentices will be completely eradicated.
This is neither negotiable nor is it up for debate. I have laid out a choice for all of you, and I would advise you decide swiftly.

Okay. So we're going harder on the power of life and death garbage. Because his power trip boner wasn't hard enough, I guess.

Lusamine looks...well, freaked out is probably the mildest word, but she's trying to keep herself composed. After everything that's happened, she can't fall for this, but...]

Hanyuu's frozen, and then her face shifts into a mask of determination. She's going to turn around and return to her room. ...Sorry, Elda, it's gonna be locked for awhile. She'll emerge a bit later, before the meeting.]

Re: INCENTIVE
There's an incentive for the ages.
After hearing that annoucement he looks even sicker than he did on Sunday.]
He's can't... no! That's completely unfair, they had nothing to do with this!

[ Mikazuki calmly sips his tea. It's ...not like he's pleased but like hell he's giving the man the reaction he wants. ]

She looks incredibly bothered, terrified even, and she leaves without a word.]

You're gonna pay for this, you bastard.

He's trying to play at everybody's emotions. Stay on your guard.
MEETING
[It's short, sweet, and to the point, and it's being put up in the kitchen as well as in everyone's rooms. Normally they meet a little later, but after a motive like that... No. They need to talk now.
Rice is simple, easy to make, and easy on the stomach; Silver makes a huge amount of rice and nothing else, because quite frankly, he feels sick himself. But eating is important too. He's not going to force anyone, however, which is... Pretty opposite of every stance he ever takes regarding food.]
We've got a lot to talk about. Our letters from the dead, those locked doors downstairs... I want to talk about that motive, too. As a group, and not just to a couple of people before someone winds up dead.
[Blunt as always, Silver.]
So who wants to start?
no subject
Chiyuki's told me that Noir recognized her co-worker, and mentioned him by name. When asked about it, Noir said that "it was her job to find out and know things." She said she'll try to see if she feels this way about someone else.
[...]
How do we feel about telling the dead about that incentive? Personally, I think they deserve a warning.
[Of course, it's entirely possible that it's a moot point anyway, and they won't be able to communicate with the dead anymore.]

We can't send physical objects through the letters to them, or at least the ones I sent failed.

Also Phi had a message for us, something she'd been working out on her own for a while. An anagram. She's fairly certain her solution is "What you choose can materialize us."

So. The room in the back of the ballroom seems to have been someone's little hidey-hole. There was a blanket nest, a bunch of nerdy fantasy stuff, flower hair clips, and homemade black clothes.
Also a lot of sketchbooks. I mean, this one's empty, but I brought it for a special reason. The other ones had, like, actual art? Kind of janky 13 year old anime art, but you know. There's also some standard animals and Pokemon that I'm pretty sure are from Unova? I know all the bugs were, so. You know. That stood out most to me.
Anyway, this sketchbook...
[he opens it up.]
...is completely blank. I'm not sure if they're really blank or if we should do some kind of science experiment to see if it's like the invisible lemon juice writing or something. But, I did find something written in it...
[he flips to the page with ZISKA written on it.]
...so. Y'all think this is our girl Noir? I'm thinking it might be, and I'm gonna talk to her sooner or later about it. Maybe she can clear things up.

After the incentive, which she was not happy at all to hear about, Estelle can be found in the kitchen making the recipe for gazpacho that Killia wrote for her. Given she’s never really had it before aside from a few times back home, she’s not exactly sure how it’s supposed to taste. So she’s working on it until she achieves a taste that seems balanced. Given it’s rather similar to vichyssoise, she gets an idea, but still… she’s working hard on it.
Midday, she’ll be in the dojo with the Levin sword she got from the vending machine earlier in the day. It’s not ideal, but it’s definitely the closest to her weapon of choice to fight with. She’s definitely practicing her techniques since she feels rather rusty with a sword since she hasn’t used it in… well over six weeks. So she feels the need to train. It’s rather clear she’s well practiced with this weapon. Almost not fitting for a girl of her looks.
Later on in the day, she’ll be back in the kitchen, until the meeting at 4 PM.
At some point earlier in the day for just a moment she can be seen in in front of room 8 to slip a note under the door.
Mikazuki,
Meet me in the greenhouse at 6 PM. I have something to give to you.

INVESTIGATION
...After it's. Kind of a crapshoot, she disappears completely after it until a little in the afternoon, wherein before the meeting she's sitting in the greenhouse, just kind of quietly thinking below a tree. Her eyes are closed, so it could look like she's sleeping. ...She's not, obviously, but the mistake could be made.
Following the meeting, she'll be in the chapel, doing some investigation. It's...strange to be here, after Friday, but- but she has to look for something, doesn't she?
Regardless, she'll be wandering around a bit, pensive and a little frustrated, ultimately taking time to play in the billiards room, though her heart doesn't seem in it.
Later in the evening, she's knocking at Silver's room- or well, Gold's, with a shirt of some kind in her hands.]

Investigation
But after that, the incentive happens and uh- So like today sucks? Can we agree on that? Yeah, today sucks. Today sucks a lot.
Elda goes off to try and find some purpose today and her initial purpose seems to go to the Ballroom. She remembers thinking yesterday how fun it would be for them to stage a dance in here. But now... would the mood even allow for it? Are there any who could play the instruments? So often, it had been Guzma who pulled them into silly things like that. Guzma and Viktor. ... She can't dwell on that, but decides as long as she's going to linger in here, she may as well have purpose. She makes to investigate the ballroom
And then once all that is done, Elda can be found in the Game Room. She likes the Game Room, all things considered. She has a chess game set up if anyone wants to sit opposite her and play her, but what she's actually doing now is making sketches on numerous sheets of paper. Some finished ones are laying on the table, but sh's making an attempt to draw people from memory. Elda, for the record, is an impeccable artists. There is a sketch of at least one of each living person, some attempt to draw most of the dead, and then several drawings of the people she's closer to. She might even be bold enough to draw herself into some of these. ]

Well, that's going to mess things up for everybody.
Afterwards, he begins to prepare. Something needs to be done to prevent the inevitability of what will happen with this incentive. He heads down to the machine with a handful of coins, hoping and praying that something useful appears.
His answer comes in the form of a small bat-shaped weapon.
Bruce can be found for the rest of the day in the dojo, practicing throws with the batarang. It takes him a little while to get back into his groove, but eventually, he's making precise throws - making his mark on the punching bags everytime.
...Of course, whenever someone comes in, he feigns a bad throw. To the outsiders, it's gonna look like he sucks at this. He has to remain unsuspecting, keep blending in with all of them. Gotta keep up appearances.]

...To say that Lusamine is frazzled after all of that is the understatement of a lifetime, and until the meeting, she kinda goes back and locks herself in there to scream into a pillow.
It's afterward that she goes to cash in some coins, with a rather unusual bounty coming out. The outfits...certainly get some interesting looks, but the sword in particular is interesting. ...The mochi also is, if the way she's chewing on it as she goes down the hall is any indication.
Of course, her first stop is going to be the sewing room to try and find a fabric to match to the dark mage outfit. The fact that it doesn't come with a top at all is kind of abhorrent, so she's gonna try and fix that! By making something better. She's...fairly got this, just very insistent on finding an exact shade.
After, though...weirdly enough, she goes to the pool and seems to just be swimming laps around the pool. It's a decent way to destress, if nothing else, and work out some nervous energy.]

Investigation
By night time he is in his room, setting up for something. He has a knife from the kitchen and several different tools from the workshop. He also has a bowl of cooked rice, a bottle of liquor from the bar, and two pieces of paper (one that says YES and one that says NO) with him. After the clock has chimed for the night, he sets to work trying to pry up one of the floorboards in his room.
The Wordsmith only said something about destroying the walls. Trying to get to where Kageshirou might be by going through the floor isn't against the rules. Plus this is the highest level of the school, if he manages to get through the floor the furthest he'll go is into the second floor anyway.]
