Week 5.
Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 17 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]

The vending machine. [so fuckin happy but not as happy as the gun] Isn't it great? That thing is the third best thing in my life.

It's adorable.]
You'd be mostly right anyway, you ass. The only thing that's better than you in my life is me.
[But that's like, natural, you know. Seeing as who she is.]
no subject
[Like, you know. Bruce. And Alphys. And...tbh everyone whose most important person isn't themselves.]
no subject
[But let's get to the important thing here. Namely, swinging this flail around experimentally and seeing how it smashes shit.]
no subject
Oh, do elaborate on that, I'm curious.
no subject
People who hold no importance to themselves can't move when there's danger. They're consumed by thoughts that they're better off dead anyway. There's nothing they can do for others but die. That's all they think of themselves as. So if it means that the others get away, they won't have a second thought about being eaten alive by trolls. Seems noble, actually really stupid. Everyone's got a purpose.
I'm the most important person to myself, so I'll move when I'm in danger. I'll distract anything I need to so others can get away. If that ends up in my death then that's how things are, it's a risk I take, but it's not like I'm actively trying to seek it out. It's just something I'll do because there are others around who need me and that are important enough that I'd risk it.
[... If that makes any sense, congratulations.]
no subject
...That's something like the logic I was using the other week, actually.
[Aaaaand that would be why.]
In my case it's because...well, no one is more important than me, but there are people that I want to protect. And sometimes you have to sacrifice important things to get what you want. It doesn't mean that anyone else is more important than myself, it just means that I know what I want and I'll do whatever it takes to get it.
[He shrugs, and for a moment it sounds like that's going to be it; after a second, though- ]
...I do understand why you were mad about it, though.
no subject
... I was more scared than mad. I couldn't stand the thought of losing you just for the simple reason that I'd be sad if you were gone. I liked having you around, and the thought that you could just so easily disappear like that even by your own choice...
[Sigrun trails off there, shrugging herself.]
I still don't want to lose you. If there's some way I can prevent that, I will, whether it's with words or otherwise. You go beyond my duty.
no subject
[And that's calmer, less flamboyant and up to eleven than he usually is; just...talking, not trying to sell anything, feelings or otherwise.
The rest of it is more difficult, though. Takes him a moment.]
If I can't do anything about it, though... It's better not to care. I'm good at convincing myself that I don't, you know, and a lot of the time...well, it's better for everyone that way. I'm a nice distraction for everyone, and I like it that way, and I can't be that for anyone if I'm preoccupied with things I care about.
So after a while? I stop. And everyone likes it that way, myself included.
...It doesn't mean I don't care about you. But if something happens, I can't.
no subject
[She lets the flail stay stuck to one of the bigger bricks and turns around, hands on her hips.]
But I know what you mean. As a leader, I care about everyone and it's my duty to protect them. As an entertainer, it sounds like it's just about the same way. Just with keeping them happy instead.
I'm not allowed favorites and neither are you. If I care too much about one person, I can't let it affect me or whatever decisions I make just in case it jeopardizes everyone else. You get too preoccupied to work and let me tell you, it shows if your heart's not into it. So you can't let it affect you either.
... But, you know, like I said. [And she crosses her arms behind her, pointedly looking away in gaze.] You go beyond my duty. I don't want to protect you as a leader. I want to protect you as my friend. I won't let that feeling be the reason I make mistakes, but I'm not closing it off either.
[It's. It's a struggle, and she seems done at the moment, but she drags her eyes back over to stare at him.]
I just can't make myself not care the way you do. I like having heart to hearts with you because it feels like you're facing me as Mettaton, not just your job. I like being the only one that gets close enough to you to touch your face and kiss you for the same reason. I can appreciate your logic as a leader, but as Sigrun, I can't.
[There's an apology in that. Just in tone.]
That's just how I am.
no subject
He's smiling again when he looks up, even if the expression is a bit strange.]
"Mettaton is the reason Dr. Alphys is dead." If you want to know what my secret is.
As far as my dreams are concerned, that person I've compared you to - the head of the Royal Guard? She died a couple of weeks ago. The person who's in charge of taking care of that snowy area I've told you about is dead, too.
It'd be pretty bad for me if I cared at all about any of that.
[He isn't breaking eye contact, though.]
It's like it was back home - I'm always performing, sweetheart. The role is just a little different nowadays.
no subject
[Is he sure that he doesn't want her to come back with him and kick some human's ass? Because she's really feeling it, picking up the flail as if to continue the smashathon and putting it into his hands instead.]
First off, I'm just gonna say you don't have to perform in front of me and get that out of the way. You're a pretty shitty distraction for me anyway.
[She does love hanging out with him, but she doesn't go to him to get away from things; just to spend time.]
Secondly, are you positive you don't want me to come back with you for the sole purpose of getting rid of that problem you're all having? Because I will. I really, really will.
no subject
...I've already told you why that's a bad idea, sweetheart. Besides, it's not...
[He shrugs after a moment. Tries to resettle. It doesn't work very well.]
It's not like it's my problem anymore, anyway.
no subject
... It just makes her sit down and lean against him, arms wrapping around his waist. Physical contact still does more for her than him on principle that he's made of metal, but the intentions are good and there.]
Me being here doesn't make what's happening back home any less my problem. It's the same for anyone. Even you. [...] Have you had a dream about her dying? Your doctor.
no subject
...Just because I haven't dreamed about it yet doesn't mean it didn't happen, you know.
no subject
[That's practically an order, here.]
We'll hold a little something in her honor. She's important to you and to just try and forget like you are, saying it's not your problem anymore, is wrong. Even if you are coming home with me.
no subject
[And that's...a bit too quick to be natural, but.]
We don't have to do anything like that. I'll worry about it once we've left this place.
no subject
She sizes him up a little, wondering if this is something she should push a little harder, but if he'll worry about it later then they'll worry about it later.]
Okay. [She'll... let him go then, patting his back.] Give that thing a few swings then and tell me how it feels to you. I like it, but I don't know if I'll keep it.
[The knives are So much more her.]
