Week 5.

WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. [It's week 5 and Colress has gone through Some Shit the last few days.

Yet here he is accepting a cute kitty hairpin and pinning his bang down with it.

He clearly has no fucks to give this lovely Sunday morning.]

While Cherryblod was off getting the hairpin, Colress went to fetch his coffee. He's glad he can now drink it with the assurance that he won't dunk his hair in the cup.]

Now that my hair situation has been fixed somewhat, how are you doing this morning?

As well as anyone can be doing right now, I think. Dreamed about a party.

A party? Now that sounds rather pleasant, all things considered. At least...I hope it was pleasant?

[Parties are supposed to be pleasant by default he figures, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious.]

It was celebrating Wadanohara fixing up our barrier. I wasn't allowed to drink, because I was still recovering from being poisoned, but other than that everyone had a good time.

[It's at this point that Colress realizes he doesn't actually recall too much about what's been going on in Cherryblod's world except for the poisoning and fighting a demon. Both of which were certainly not pleasant!]

Ah, forgive me if this is going to cause you to repeat yourself from a previous conversation... But I imagine this barrier was to keep whomever poisoned and attacked you out? The...demon, was it?

The demon. [Pause.] Well, I can't say for sure it was the demon specifically who poisoned me, since he shouldn't have been able to get in at that time... but I can't imagine who else would have.

But yes, it's to keep our enemies out of the city.

As unnerving and awful as it all seems, I am glad that the barrier was able to be fixed. Still though, how suspicious for it to go down all of the sudden. I trust that doesn't happen often?

[He's imagining this in terms of protective moves that Pokemon have, so it's not all that strange to visualize.]

It requires maintenance every so often - long-lasting magic spells like that usually do, but it's only every fifty years or so.

...Still, I wonder if there isn't more to what happened.

For your sake, I will hope that there isn't. The last thing you need to worry about is what happened back there in addition to what is happening here.

I'm sure my family would want me to focus on myself right now, too. I'll assume they're doing fine, without any other evidence to the contrary.

[Because their worlds are fine.]

Good. That is exactly how you should see it. As I said, we have plenty to concern ourselves with here.

[He wishes he could think similarly... At least, it's a little noticeable from the way he doesn't sound like he completely believes in his own advice.]

I'm sure they'd like to meet you someday, when things are all settled.

...I'd also like to see how that would work out. You all must live underwater the majority of the time, yes?

Usually. My daughter travels, but it's much harder for my wife to leave the ocean, so you'd have to join us down there. We could probably work something out.

Ahh, so your daughter must be humanoid like yourself.

[That would make sense considering her parents!]

Regardless of the method, I certainly look forward to the possibility. I've no doubt that it would be a good time with you and your family as the hosts!

We'll certainly do our best. I'd hate to invite a friend over only for them to not have a good time.

[Like...holy crap that is super convenient. That's like being able to change into a Pokemon! Man, Cherryblod's magic world sounds pretty amazing.]

I don't believe that having a bad time is a possibility considering what you've told me. Besides, I absolutely enjoy visiting new places and people in general. As I've said, I am a bit of a traveler.

Then I'm sure things would be wonderful. Especially if you haven't been down in the ocean before - the world looks much different below the waves. It's not something most humans get to experience, but it's well worth seeing at least once.
