Week 5.
Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 17 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]

[...in fairness, Mettaton is kind of not "most people".]
Really though. Why wear them - or have them built in - if they're not going to be combat-capable? Don't get me wrong, they also make your legs look fantastic! But they're impractical if they're not strong enough to break things like that.
[This is the argument he's making right now. Why wear four-inch stilettos if you can't weaponize them. God help us all.]

Combat-capable, huh.
[Mouri smashes another brick]
Why would you need that? It isn't like you want to fight in that war back at your home. It's likely it'll be over once you return, either way.

It's just the way I was built, darling! I was created to be able to fight, as well as be gorgeous and successful on television. Most of us don't usually kill back home, but we do like to fight once in a while - everyone can fight, really, whether we actually like to or not.

[Mouri stops for a moment. Maybe due to the whole war thing maybe he should have supposed every single monster would know to fight.
Mettaton's world is already a place Mouri doesn't want to visit. Fighting monsters doesn't sound like something he wants to do, and from everything Mettaton has said it does seem to Mouri that's something he'd need to do]
Is fighting something taught to children as soon as possible or what? Because I thought only those directly involved in the army or whatever you have similar to that would be able to fight.

As for the rest of us, we all have magic. Most of us can't do physical combat at all - you'd probably be able to kill most monsters with a stick and enough determination, actually. I'm just better-suited to it than most, since so much of my body is physically-based and not made up solely of my soul's power.
[So it's not so bad, on the fighting front.]

["Hit it with a stick until it dies" shouldn't be an effective battle strategy]
It can't be so bad. Magic should be enough to defend yourselves, I think most people would be scared enough to not to attack if you use magic to scare them.
...I know I would retreat if a monster attacked me with magic.

[...That's happy, Mettaton.]
Magic is more than enough, though! And we can do things with it that humans can't. So it really isn't so bad, unless there's a human with particularly strong killing intent around.

[Not right now, of course. Setting stuff on fire right now seems the prime way to end the trust exercise due to only a couple people surviving]

My magic is similar to my creator's. It's mostly based around electricity and creating small machines and devices. ...And explosives, of course.
I can also send words directly into your mind sometimes; it's harmless, more for communication than anything.

Mine is as mundane as it can be, especially compared to everyone else's, but there are thousands of stories in places full of magic.
I'm not sure if knowing so many worlds like those exist makes me jealous mine doesn't have any of that or happy mine is so normal and nobody has to worry about magic or fantasy.
[There's one single thing Mouri thinks this Vault was good for and it is to understand there's so much he doesn't know or understand yet. At least he wants to know more and that is good enough]

[And that actually sounds pretty genuine, there's nothing derisive behind it at all.]

[oh my god it looks like you have made his year? his year has been made.]
I've wanted to work with human stars for...well, almost all my life! If you could do that it would be fantastic!

Getting paid for that is great, too.
[Because if there's one thing Mouri really asks about before accepting anything he has to do further than the block his agency is located in is how much he'll get paid for it. It's the wonders of being famous.
Boy is he going to miss it once his fame inevitably shrinks to more accurate levels]
I'm sure you'd be their favorite celebrity for quite a while.
