Week 5.

WEEK 5

Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better.

A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial.

amygdalae: well I can't have everything I want (should have gotten paid up front)

Not all of us are able to auto-translate.

[Just. So dry, here.

...sorry Mettaton, Bruce just isn't in a very polite mood today.]
ratingspoint: (RECOVER ♥ it's either me or you)

[You want to be a catty asshole, he can do that too. Don't give him shit if you don't want a sharp tone back, though.]

Well-spotted, Bruce! What does all of this sound like to you, then, is the question?
amygdalae: (all the stress)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-28 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's not going to give anybody any shit, his usual filters are just not... 100% there.

With that said though, he does deflate a little at Mettaton's response, taking a moment to get back his calm while he pinches the bridge of his nose and exhales loudly.]

The same as I've always been hearing.

[Everybody is having a day today, let's put it that way. Some are just better at not having a day all over each other than others, and something about this entire...thing isn't helping Mettaton's mood, either. At least he...seems to realize it, good lord.]

...Sorry. But keeping in mind that not all of us can auto-translate and yet...somehow we have been here, why in the world can none of us read that?

The only thing I can think is maybe the Kingmaker doesn't understand it himself, but that's...

[Vague. Gesturing???]

amygdalae: the world is not a nice place (if only things are that simple)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-28 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Its okay, Mettaton. We're cool.]

Then that would imply what this book and its contents didn't come from him, since there'd be no reason for him to have a book he would be unable to read.

[Which means... what?]

...Exactly!

[See, you get him, though.]

I just don't know where it would have come from, if that's the case.
amygdalae: in the heart of the sun (night and the storm)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-28 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it was from somebody who was in this place previously, before us.

[...it feels like the most logical conclusion right now, anyway.]
bloodisthicker: maybe you shouldn't have gone all facist tarrlok (way to turn out like dad tarrlok)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-28 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
...I might be remembering something incorrectly, because it's been a long and eventful couple weeks, but didn't the Kingmaker say that the world we're in isn't his world, either?
captainobnoxious: (19 yeah that's broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-29 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
You're right, he's not. He wouldn't say where he's from, but he's not from this world either. And that he doesn't know how long he's been here for, so if he can't read it I'm pretty sure none of us can.
bloodisthicker: yeah but what are we going to do with all that melon juice? (pinky are you thinking what i'm thinking)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-29 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
That would probably explain it, then. Still... maybe we'll find some sort of decoder at some point? For all we know, it could be written in code rather than a different actual language.
amygdalae: (you wouldn't like me when I'm angry)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-29 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
...that could happen too.

[Yeah.]

We'll need to keep looking.
