WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Oh, hi, Black! Actually, actually! Misa-Misa doesn't know how to play any instruments at all! But Sigrun knows how to play the lyre, and I figured having it in the music room would let people play whatever they'd like, so, if you want to help, Misa-Misa would really appreciate it!

Misa-Misa only knows how to sing and dance!

[ .......oh my god this is mistake. ]

I can play a few things. [ NOT... REALLY... He can play the harmony of literally one song and he picked up a book on how to play piano, he can't learn anything else in two days. Or can he. There are those music sheets he found... ] Or I can try. I know Yosuke can play a few songs on guitar--he showed me, he's actually pretty good--and... I think there's a few others who've been working on picking up an instrument too, since otherwise all of those'll go to waste.

[ All those poor string instruments are tbh, RIP. Someone pick up the cello. ]

Between a couple of us, I'm sure we'll be able to do something, is what I'm saying. [ ...he needs to figure out which of his scores is both easy to play and actually danceable, oh god. ] And if all else fails, you could just sing?

Thank goodness! I knew that we'd be able to come together and pull up something! It'll be perfect! Like a true event that brings everyone together!

I really think this might be the one!

As long as it doesn't end up being a murder mystery. [ THAT'S BAD TO SAY but like-- ] Masquerades are pretty popular for that reason, since everyone's usually dressed up and you can't tell who's who.

Well, no one died in the one in The Phantom...maybe the Kingmaker will show up in a really cool costume? He'd be like, "Fondest greetings to you aaaaaall~" ♪

He doesn't really seem like the musical type though, does he?

Oh, come on, Black, who doesn't like musicals?

Probably the Kingmaker. [ ... ] Maybe Mr. Pines? Mr. Colress doesn't seem like the type to like them either.

And what about you, then? What do you think of them? We don't get too much of them over in Tokyo, only the really popular ones, but, well, Misa-Misa loves stuff like that.

Broadway isn't too far from where I work [ HELLO, FORMER NEW YORK CITY ] so I get to see them as often as I'm dragged out to them. That's... not very often, actually. A lot of them are Alterworld-interpretations of famous works too, though they have their own musicals, too. They really took well to the song and dance thing.

[ ...well that's not an answer to her question at all. ]

So do you have a favorite one, then? It must be nice to be so close to where they have so many different theatres performing all different things...in Japan, we're not really so lucky. We mostly just get things one at a time out in Shibuya...which is crazy enough as it is.

I sort of hate myself for it, but... Jekyll & Hyde's pretty good. [ He liked the book, he liked the musical... ] It's supposed to be having a 25th anniversary showing next year, too.

...For some reason, Misa-Misa isn't surprised. Wildhorn seems like he's up your alley, considering your taste in books...

[ AND HERS TOO APPARENTLY CONSIDERING HE PENNED THE DEATH NOTE MUSICAL... ]

I prefer the stuff that can be kinda dark too, though.

What's your favorite then?

I've only seen a few shows on the stage...my parents used to take me every year during Golden Week, but, well, it's been a while.

If we're talking musicals, in Misa-Misa's eyes, there's nothing better than Phantom. But in terms of shows in general, Misa-Misa has a soft spot for Hamlet. ...Ophelia was Misa-Misa's favorite for a long time.

[ Ahhh, Hamlet. It's one of his favorite Shakespeares! ...not counting Macbeth. ]

She's one of my favorite characters, too. I always felt bad that she didn't catch Hamlet's meaning in his letter to her--it was a very sweet note, even if it was pretty... forward. [ ...yes, that's the word for it in polite company, forward. ]

You can say that again. She's a very tragic character, though, no matter how you slice it...it's pretty sad, considering everything that happens to her. ...I wish she had gotten a happier ending.

Yeah. [ ........actually. ] Why don't we write her one?

Eh? You mean, like, we're gonna write our own version of Hamlet..?

[penduli]

[ A nod! ] Why not? People rewrite stories all the time anyway, and Shakespeare's works belong to the public domain. I'm sure no one'll have any issues with it either.

Well, Misa-Misa isn't much of a writer...she's more of an actress, but, maybe we can make something beautiful together...

[ ...Black is also not much of a writer (or a playwright), but he's read enough. How hard can it be! ]

I'll write something up, and you can check it out, and if you like it... maybe you could act it out? Playing Ophelia, of course. [ There's no one more suited to it! ] If we end up needing other people, we can recruit them and put on a really fun show.

W-wait, you want Misa-Misa to actually play the role..? T-that's too much of an honor! For Misa-Misa to be Ophelia...

[ That's a dream come true..! ]

We have to make it happen!

There's no one else I'd rather ask.

[ ...she's so excited for this, it's pretty cute. They really do have to make it happen. ]

I'll get started on it as soon as possible and let you know when I've got something down. [ They're going to have a smaller crowd of people to perform for and with by the end of the week but, uh, that's depressing and let's not think about that. ]

M-Misa-Misa will help any way she can! If you ever hit a writer's block or something, Misa-Misa's read enough romances to know what to do next! O-oh, but it won't be cliché at all! It'll be beautiful! We'll make it work..!
