Week 5.

WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Don't worry about it. That's the same kinda work I'd have back home - I don't mind keepin' busy like that.

[God knows he needs to occupy himself around here.]

[Bruce does appreciate it.

There's a brief pause here, and then he makes a vague gesture around him.]

You're free to stay, if you want.

[...mostly because Bruce can't quite find a reason to chase Stan out and it is night time, so its probably best to stick together and not be alone.]

[Normally, Stan might not bother, but he's going through much the same calculations. After a moment, he shrugs and goes to sit in the chair.]

Alright. You oughta be keepin' a good eye on the door this late anyway.

[amygdalae]

You don't need to stay on my account if you need your rest.

[No pressure or anything.

Anyway, Bruce turns back to the punching bag and starts hitting it again. It's nothing fancy - just simple jabs and stuff like that - but there's clearly a lot more force behind them that what they suggest.]

Nah, I'm more used to stayin' up nights anyway.

[And it's true. Stan goes quiet, facing the door but watching Bruce. Yep. Gonna need to reinforce that later.]

[amygdalae]

[Bruce keeps on hitting the punching bag, quickly forgetting about everything else except the need to just really let his frustrations out. The punches get harder with each successive one, his breath growing harsh as he expands out more and more energy.

(Mion killed, Yato died for nothing, Norman and Megumi dying just like that, Yagami, and now King--)

He lets out an extremely agitated sound and punches the yeti's head a bit too hard, and though its quiet the sound of something tearing is still audible enough. Bruce stops after he hears that, panting heavily as he stares at the damage he's done to the poor punching bag.]

[Stan turns to look more directly as well, letting out a low whistle.]

Damn, doc. You oughta come do this more. [Obviously it is a good stress reliever?]

[amygdalae]

[Bruce purses his lips and stares down at his hands, watching as he clenches and unclenches them into fists and then out of it. His muscles are already burning from how much he's exhausted himself, but his mind is still wide awake. Awake, and buzzing with a million thoughts he's not keen on entertaining right now.]

...I'm not really big on doing this. [His voice is a little croaky, throat somewhat parched with the need for water.] But I can't exactly keep it bottled up any longer.

[He knows that abilities are sealed, and the Other Guy hasn't so much as made a reaction since his arrival here--but Bruce still doesn't want to risk it. After all Kamui and Caren still had their powers, so the possibility is still there.]

[goodforsomething]

It's better if ya don't. That's how ya end up actin' like a dick to people when you don't mean to. [He's had his experiences with that, when the frustration of the portal or whatever else would get the better of him.] Stuffed animal violence is the way to go!

[amygdalae]

[Yeah, Bruce is aware he's been like that a fair bit too. Usually he's good at keeping himself under control, but the last few weeks--its been hard. And after what happened, its even harder now.]

If only all problems could be fix by punching a stuffed animal.

[His voice is just exceptionally bitter as he says that.]

It'd be nice!

[He understands.]

It'd be better if I had a picture of the Kingmaker, but I guess we gotta take what we can get right now.

[amygdalae]

I suppose we could make a copy the profile he put up about himself.

[It's not much, but it'll be something.]

Naaaah, that's no fun.

Let's have a contest! Whoever draws the best Kingmaker, that's his face now!

[amygdalae]

[...Bruce usually knows better than to agree to this but you know what? He needs this right now.]

I wouldn't mind doing that. [Yeah they're going to do this.]

Great! We'll get everyone in on it! We could use some completely petty revenge!

[amygdalae]

It'll be a harmless way of letting out some of our own frustrations.

[And they all probably need it, dear god.]

And maybe it'll piss him off!

I certainly hope it will.

[It's incredibly petty, but man does he need that.]
