WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. I mostly just want to punch myself! I mean, I don't mind looking at him usually, but sometimes I just have to punch myself in the stomach because of it!

Do you know how weird that'd be? I mean, he wouldn't mind it, I'm sure as full of himself as he is, but I'm not gonna just blurt out a nice thing when he makes me feel like that. I'll run out of things to say!

You'd be surprised, actually! Maybe it'll feel weird at first, but, eventually, coming up with new stuff to say gets really natural! Or, at least, it does for me..!

Nice. It's nice. But it's also, you know. The thing that makes me want to punch someone. How does anyone stand it?

It's the greatest feeling in the world, once it blooms in full. The kind of thing that makes you stop thinking with your head and start thinking with your heart. The thing that makes you want to do whatever you can just to see their smile.

[It's true. It's not the greatest feeling in the world to Sigrun, admittedly, but it is high up there on the list. The short list.

She also feels like punching a wall at Misa's last sentence because goddamn, girl. time to test that "say nice things" instead?]

... I like it when he really smiles. I mean, he's always got that stupid performer's face on, but I kind of know when he's being real about it. Or when he's trying to be real about it. It's weird.

That's one of the reasons I love being around Light. I'm more of a people person than he is, for sure, but...he knows the difference between, well, Misa-Misa and just plain Misa, you know? Because there's definitely a difference.

Still can't say if he likes that about me. But it is pretty nice having someone you can kind of just let loose around, so maybe he does. Just not when he doesn't want to talk about something.

Speaking as a performer, like I said. When someone sees past your mask, it's a little bit weird at first if you're the type who likes to keep theirs up, but, someone you can be yourself around...you need someone like that to be your rock.

She knows she likes the sound of being his rock, that's for sure. Misa's earned herself a hair ruffle.]

I'm taking your words with a little bit of salt, since it's that guy and all, but... thanks. I'll do my best to be there for him even if he's an ass about it sometimes. [...] He's trying more anyway. And I'll keep you updated on the smooches.

As long as you're both trying, that's what's important here. I'm basically living through you vicariously here, because Light isn't here, so I'm rooting for you guys 500%!
