Week 5.

WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Oh, it's like... our counselor basically asks us our post-graduation plans so we can get helping picking out schools or stuff like that.

...it's nice to be able to waffle in that case, I think. [ How does he put it. ] I didn't have much say in the matter myself--I mean, my parents never pushed me to be a Caster like them, but there wasn't anything else I was really good at, either. My psychic abilities are all I really had. Besides, everyone else in my family became Casters, and I knew my sister'd give me grief if I didn't...

[ And, now there's here and he doesn't have them or a job and he's just filling his time doing literally anything that catches his attention. ]

Waffling just means you have a lot you want to do and you're just not sure if you can, right? Though I'm sure you can do just about anything you put your mind to.

[Black's praise makes him turn red, but only does so much to ease his now slightly sour expression]

I dunno... it's less that there's a lot I wanna do and more I have no IDEA what I wanna do. After everything that happened just getting a job seems so... I dunno-

-hollow? My grades aren't great either, so I dunno if I could even get into a school anyways.

[penduli]

[ yosuke you're talking to Mr. "well it isn't like i had much of a choice, what with my psychic powers and all" here. ...also why does he keep giving advice when he's in no position to do so. ]

They're the same thing. [ at their core, anyway. he... never knew what to say to White about this, either. ] Why not just become a detective or something? ...being here gives you great work experience anyway.

[garudynamic]

[That at least clears the sour look off his face with a laugh]

I dunno if I could put this on my resume though.

[ PHEW. ]

You can put anything on your resume if you word it right. [ TRUTH IN FICTION HERE. ] "Survived a murder game set by a crazy weirdo and solved case after case in order to stay alive" probably wouldn't work, but... hmm.

[ Give him a second, he... doesn't have this at all. ]

...putting that you have on-the-job experience, even if it's amateur, wouldn't be bad? A lot of people look for initiative and for people who seem like they know what they're doing. [ ......heheheh-- ] You might have a tough time pulling that second one off.

[garudynamic]

Wow! Ouch!

[He puts a hand to his chest in over wrought distress]

I see how much confidence you have in me now.

I'm only being honest. [ And a tease, but Anyway. ] I'm the same way though--or I used to be. My sister'd get mad at me because, and I quote, "You've always got that dumb look on your face like you don't know what's going on!"

[ ... ... ... ... ]

I wonder if I've gotten any better.

[garudynamic]

I haven't seen you make any REALLY dumb faces.

[Maybe a little in the trials, but they all looked pretty dumb]

[penduli]

[ yeah, especially yosuke ]

So only slightly dumb faces. That's what you're saying, right?

[garudynamic]

Just a little.

[penduli]

[ How mean, Black... gently shoves him with his shoulder. It's sort of weird being friendly enough with someone to do this, actually, which might explain why he scoots away before any retaliation can come. ]

At least they're not like yours, I guess.

[garudynamic]

[Yosuke snickers, framing his own face with his fingers]

Excuse you, I have a great face.

[penduli]

You do. [ ...UM!! ] A--really great dumb face.

[garudynamic]

[ damn it Black stop making him go red]

Not as dumb as yours though, since I don't have these.

[he reaches out and, if Black doesn't stop him, (carefully) plucks his glasses right off his face]

[penduli]

[ well maybe yosuke shouldn't get red so easily, maybe that's the problem here!!

actually the bigger problem is that Black... doesn't stop him from taking his glasses, mostly because he didn't... think he would, for whatever reason. A lot of blinking owlishly before he kinda starts. squinting. His eyesight is pretty fucking poor, man. ]

...you know [ and he's trying not to sound like he's about to laugh, BUT HE SORT OF IS, especially with that grin starting on his face in an attempt to hold it back ] you look much better like this, Yosuke. Very fetching.

[garudynamic]

Wow, dick.

[he playfully swats at Black's shoulder before putting the glasses on his own nose and-]

Holy crap what is your persrciption, a million?!

[ thats not even how that is measured. And thank god Black is half blind, cuz Yosuke is now also squinting. Plus the frames really don't flatter his face shape]

[penduli]

[ That's not even how that's measured, and no sorry he's going to actually laugh. Yosuke looks stupid and sounds stupid and dammit that's

endearing. He sort of hates this a lot. ]

It's not that bad, but it's pretty bad. [ This is going to be a mess if he actually tries to take his glasses back but he's gonna... try... anyway. Gently papping Yosuke's face until he finds a good grip on them so he can (carefully) pull them off. ] I've had to wear them since... I don't know. Ever since I was a kid? I didn't have them in my baby pictures, but they started showing up pretty early on.

[garudynamic]

[ for a few moments, after Black takes his glasses back, but before Yosuke's eyes have fully focused there's something in his expression . A bare, expossed affection and deep worry. Both that he schools the moment his eyes recover]

Heh, well you look weird without them so it works out.

[penduli]

[ ...ah, that's unexpected, and Black busies himself with carefully cleaning his glasses off with his shirt. ]

I always thought so, too. And, well, I really don't like putting things near my eyes, so I was never interested in getting contacts or anything like that. [ God, his stomach is doing so many gymnastics it could earn a gold medal in the Olympics. ] If you had the right pair of glasses, you'd probably look really good with them—not these one, they're too round—but I don't see why you'd want them. They're such a pain to take care of.

[ And it's not like there's any TV to hop into that needs them either, so. ]

The frames I used in the tv were smaller, yeah. And square?

[He mimics the shape around his face with his fingers]

But yeah, no. You can keep the vision issues man.

[penduli]

[ ...those would look much nicer on him, yes. ]

I'm happy to. [ Mostly. If he didn't have glasses, he might've not been picked on as much................ no he definitely would have been. Back on they go, once he's satisfied with them (and he stops feeling like he got kicked). ] It's not weird if I say I can't actually imagine what it'd be like to be able to see without them, right?
