The klaxons blare out early on Friday morning, as always. Depending on how late you were out at the party last night, they might not be very welcome, but at least it seems the Kingmaker isn't having any difficulties with them today. The Vault's setup has always been a bit unfortunate on Fridays – the fact that the view from the dorms is a straight shot down the corridor tends to make it completely and immediately obvious when something is wrong. It isn't blood this time; there are no large crimson stains splashed around the hallway or leading outward from one of the rooms. What is there, however, is a person lying on the floor near the stairwell. That doesn't bode well, does it. >Explore?

[Strangely enough, no. There's no blood in this room either, which is kind of weird.]

Looks like that water's not the cause of those burns then.

[Cool, so what sort of chemicals are we looking at here? And is there still liquid inside, or were the contents spilled...?]

[Well, it looks like he smashed his face on something - though to be fair, it's less "somebody took a hammer to his face" and more a case of "face met structure, structure won." It doesn't look like massive blunt force trauma, basically. His nose isn't having the greatest time? And there are some small abrasions. But it's not the worst thing in the world, either.]

No kidding. [ What drives people to incinerate when they can just stash instead. ] It's not as if we're lacking in places to hide things, either. Look at everything that came up at the last meeting that were hidden somehow. It can't be that hard to find somewhere to throw evidence in.

Have you checked the sign-out sheet lately? The one that no one uses?]

[ Oh, huh. That is a little bit strange. So there was a scuffle, but no one got hurt..?

Maybe the fight started in here and led into the sauna or something? But was it not serious enough in here that there wouldn't be blood?

Yeah. It's not like stuff has to vanish for good- just be hidden long enough.

[The bottles don't seem to have been emptied - they're a bunch of the stronger cleaning agents, like bleach and things like that.

Even if they had fallen, though, the placement of the bottles is...odd. Like they've been picked up. They aren't knocked over or lying on the ground haphazardly.]

Yeah, we can play in it all we want when we're done. I just want to know what it's doing here if this thing isn't on.

I don't know what causes burns like this though, so... I guess we're stuck on that point. Look around and see if you can find anything for me. If it's not a knife it's not a murder weapon I want.

[Because Sigrun's gonna see if there's any noticeable bruising on Lynne's head. Bruce keeps mentioning them in trials.]

And yeah, he does quickly notice the very odd way that Tarrlok has been spread out and he's pretty sure, but just to be safe he's going to undo a bit of Tarrlok's clothes and see if there are any signs of bruising on his body. You know, the ones that might come from falling down a floor. Or two. Or several of them.]

[Definitely weird. And since this is an Obvious Thing and I should have given it to you in an early comment (but didn't because I'm dumb), there are also defensive pads all around the room. They don't look like they were used any more than usual, however.]
