Friday morning dawns in much the same way it usually does in this place: with klaxons blaring and a sense of unease settling over the Vault. As much as people put their best efforts toward trying to discourage anything from happening on Thursday nights with parties and get-togethers, Fridays really don't have a good track record around here. But initially, things actually seem rather quiet; the first and second floors are remarkably free of blood and corpses today. Unfortunately, the third floor might not have fared so well. >Explore?

AQUA'S ROOM

[Stan hasn't been finding many clues on these things, so he just heads back downstairs to get ready for the trial. His room is one of the first, so he doesn't really have any business going down near Aqua's...but he remembers Megumi. Maybe there's something in there?

Or hell, maybe an old con just has a sixth sense for unlocked doors. He goes to test hers, jiggling the handle.]

[You'll notice immediately that the door isn't closed properly so you can get in!]

...sort of.

Okay, he's not actually planning to steal her things so it's not actually that awesome. He still can't help that spark of curiosity. Is there anything immediately amiss upon entering?]

[Her room isn't wrecked or anything, but everything seems to have been moved around.]

[Everything? That's a lot of things!

Luckily there's only so many furnishings in these bedrooms to begin with. Let's start with the trunk - are her belongings still in there?]

[It doesn't look much different than the rest of the room, honestly. Try somewhere else?]

[How about the bed? Does it appear slept in?]

[trustharder]

[Nope, but more importantly Aqua's Wayfinder is on the bed and it's not in very good condition anymore.]

[Awww, her poor star thing! Stan knows she liked those star things. Is it in pieces?]

[trustharder]

[You bet it is. The string it's usually on has been roughly broken and the Wayfinder itself is smashed. The second casualty of this case, RIP.]

[Weeeeeeeelp.

Does it look like it was thrown on the bed, or deliberately laid out there? Like, are all the pieces generally together or dispersed?]

[trustharder]

[It's difficult to tell. There's nothing else to find on the bed, so moving on?]

[Stan removes his pocket square and carefully slides the pieces of the Wayfinder into it, before folding it up and putting it back. He'll see about fixing it later; she'd like it to be on the memorial, he thinks.

And now we move on. What's the state of the closet?]

[Mouri comes in with a concrete goal in mind. Hey there, Stan, sorry for not even greeting you.

While Mouri doesn't think it'll hold vital evidence of any sorts, finding it here should be a good indication of Aqua's plans last night. Where is Aqua's usual outfit? Is it in this room?]

[That's a good question! It's not anywhere immediately obvious, however.]

[Immediately obvious, huh. That means not in the closet, possibly not in the trunk...

...under the bed, maybe?]

[Nice try, but nope. There's nothing there.

Since Stan has the closet open you might notice that there's something on the floor.]

[Stan opened the closet and there's something on the floor. That...could be important. May as well take a good look at it]

Move aside.

[He said that to Stan. No mood for being courteous]

[It's an outfit! A very familiar one. Also it's covered in blood which is probably pretty important.]

[In what area is most of the blood located? Knowing Aqua was attacked on the head Mouri knows where to expect it to be, so better check, just in case]

[That's just it - it's everywhere. There doesn't seem to be any sort of pattern to it - if anything, it looks like it was used to mop up blood.]

[This doesn't make sense in any of the scenarios Mouri had thought.

Mouri is done with the bedroom and leaves without even saying a word to Stan]
