Take Responsibility.

The allotted time for investigating comes to an end, and those elevator doors slide open at the end of the first-floor corridor; it's a bit of a walk down from the fifth floor, but at least the ride down is swift and smooth.

To say nothing of spacious. Your numbers are running low.

The podium circle, as always, stands out against the black-walled courtroom where it's encircling that pit in the center; Mettaton and Shirazu have joined the ranks of the deceased, photographs in greyscale watching the proceedings from their podiums draped in black.

The Kingmaker, too, is watching all of you; as always, it isn't until everyone has settled at their podium that he speaks, his voice sounding out through the room for all to hear.

"Sacrificial has been taken from you. Maybe this time the guilty party is going to actually succeed at Rule Seven - but of course, whether they manage it is still up to the rest of you."

Eleven Survivors remain. How many are still standing by the end of the day is up to you.

[..... Colress.

Look at her. Look at her.]

It was really strong and gross, yeah. Are those strong and gross smells too?

[IT'S WHY HE ASKED HER TO DESCRIBE THE SMELL...]

Indeed, particularly the acetic acid. I wonder if they are the same?

[He may be a scientist but he is also from PokeWorld, they probably have different names for these things.]

If so, the chemistry lab isn't very far from the arcade...

Vinegar's just acetic acid under a different name, and highly diluted. It would explain the smell.

Ah, excellent! Thank you for the clarification, Mr. Knight.

Whomever picked it out obviously knows what it is and does, in that case.
amygdalae: (oh look there's wally.)

From what we can gather, it seems that the person has a knowledge of Earth based chemicals.

[Otherwise they wouldn't know what is what.]
captainobnoxious: (19 yeah that's broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-16 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[.... OKAY, FAIR.]

When Cleansers make bombs, they generally have some gunpowder and flammable liquids since trolls don't like them. That's as far as my knowledge goes.

It doesn't exactly surprise me that chemicals would be involved here- I imagine that the moves Explosion and Selfdestruct involve chemical reactions from inside a Pokemon's body to expel that much explosive energy.

[THERE HE GOES AGAIN...]
captainobnoxious: (40 this is gonna suck)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-16 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[there he go.....]

Uh... huh. Okay. So is it hard to clean them up?
pokexplorer: (❖ calmly)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-16 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Not at all! ...In a Pokemon's case, at least. They stay intact for the most part.
captainobnoxious: (18 what do you MEAN)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-16 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[........]

They stay intact? No way. Nooo way. How?
pokexplorer: (❖ this is lore)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-16 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a mystery!

[...Okay, he won't do that to you Sigrun.]

They simply expel the energy from their bodies, but it does not cause their own body to explode. They do faint immediately, though, so these moves are typically used as a last resort to take the opponent down with them.
captainobnoxious: (09 mmm!)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-16 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
... Oh, so like how Mages can do with their fylgja. And whatever the hell the Finns have.

[The one she has with her is the first one she's worked with. Luontos, they're called, but that's not important.]

It's like their life force. After too much use of it, they fall asleep.
pokexplorer: (❖ gloves)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-16 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
That is exactly the case here as well, yes. It is definitely not something I would want any of my Pokemon to use here, if they even were capable of using such a move. As you know, healing them here is a bit...difficult.
captainobnoxious: (20 boy is that shit broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-16 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
... Do you feed them too?

[Mettaton mentioned something like that when she hurt her head. About giving her food.]
pokexplorer: (❖ doin science)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-16 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, certainly!

[Don't ask him how the pile of gears eats.]

But to heal them from a fainted state, I would need to either use a Revive or visit a Pokemon Center.
