drove to Chicago, all things know, all things know
[This is getting so routine.
Cherryblod had thought about napping the rest of the day, like he'd said, but there are people to take care of, people who'd been closer to Aiden and Shirazu than he had been. So after about an hour in his room to decompress, he'd headed to the kitchen and started cooking. At some point Stan and Bruce had both joined him.
Almost everyone seems to want to take care of those who are remaining. Almost everyone.
The food this time is mostly soup and sandwiches - nothing fancy, nobody's in the mood to appreciate it - but it's there set up in the dining room by the time everyone (alive) receives notes under their doors. ...He slips an extra one for Sigrun under Mettaton's door, just in case.]
[name],
If you want to spend this time by yourself, that's fine.
If you'd rather have some company, there's food in the dining room, and you're all welcome there.
If you want to take some food and go, that's fine, too.
Take care of yourself.

He had expected to come back with a stuffed animal or two; he hadn't expected to come back with a letter along with it.
It's not like he's putting himself at a distance from everyone else this time! He joins the party in the dining room, pulling his heels off the first chance he gets and setting them aside to give his feet some rest. He gets a cup of tea, he sets out some materials to finish up the fox Shirazu'd been working on, he... spreads the letter he found out in front of him and ends up paying it more attention than what he should be working on.
It isn't a letter meant for any of them, but the chances of it reaching Sasaki are slim. Someone might as well read it and keep it in mind for when all of this is over.
(The plea for Haru hits harder every time he reads it instead of just becoming easier.) ]

Her too. She's got them in one arm and her lyre in the other, so she'll take a seat beside him.]
What've you got there?
no subject
[ ... ]
It's not going to be able to reach its intended recipient, so I'm wondering what we can do about it.
no subject
We'll find someone who knows him. Either in that other place [which is still left to debate if it's real or not] or I'll... I'll go to his world myself and find that person. Can't say I'll know much of the language though.
[Sigrun in Tokyo Ghoul, though.]
no subject
You'll learn it eventually if you're there. It's the best way to learn a language anyway—immersing yourself in it. [ Because then, it becomes a matter of survival, and Sigrun's the best at surviving. ] What if we can't go anywhere but our own world, Miss Sigrun? What if we can't even leave this one? What then?
no subject
Well, haven't got an answer for the first [since that's... a problem, if Cherryblod can't come with her] but for the second one -- nothing'll change. I'll teach you all how to survive with what we've got here in this world and... hope that the other vault's making some headway with the whole baby thing. Not sure I'm liking the idea of being the only mother.
[Like, really.]
Maybe it'll just go where it belongs then though. To whoever it was meant for.

[And she's letting a little tiredness show through in her smile, just a little.]
But the fact is that we do, so we'll make sure it gets there one way or another. Even if we've gotta burn it.
no subject
Okay. [ ... ] He's left instructions about who the leader position should go to and what they should do about his little sister. I—
[ a hard swallow, because that part's still the one kind of hitting him way too hard ]
I want to complete that second one, somehow? Because I don't want her to suffer, either. She's in the hospital just like White was, but her situation sounds much more serious. There's nothing we can do though.

[ ... ]
From the sounds of it, he's paying for... whatever treatment she needs right now, but he won't be around to do it anymore. It's not too much of a stretch to say he'd like us to pull the plug to keep her from going through any more pain. [ That's what he's always imagined it as; hospitals, dying peacefully. ...just letting people die because it's better for them to, as opposed to letting them live when it hurts.
(Except he's in no position to judge people like that, is he?) ]
no subject
... Alright then, that's fair. I'll make sure it gets done one way or another. It's basically his dying wish, after all.
no subject
I'm sure he'd thank you if he could. [ ...he's gonna fold this letter up, very gently. ] Do you mind if I hold onto this until then?

Hey, lemme know if you need some help with those. [Nodding towards the animals. He knows Shirazu was on that project too, so...]
no subject
Sure. [ Sure......... ] There's not many left, so I think I'll be okay. [ ... ] If you've got suggestions for the Kingmaker's though, let me know. I asked him his favorite animal, but he didn't reply.
no subject
Ugh, you're makin' one for him? [.....] You thought about possums? The ugly kind with all the teeth!
no subject
I don't think I've ever seen one, actually. [ Small animals either get turned into specials in Hellsalem's Lot or experimented on for hybrid pet purposes, and they're not around in Scotland? (Alive, anyway.) ] Can you draw one?
no subject
[And, since he's already got a pad on him, he does. It somewhat resembles these hats.]
no subject
...I could probably make that, yeah. [ King Possum or Possumaker, guys? ] I figured if I was making one for everyone, I should make one for him too? It's only fair.
And I can make a couple of them if people want to use them for less-than-nice things.
no subject
[Stan considers the other proposal.] You oughta make a few for the shooting range. I'd sure be more interested in tryin' out the crossbow then.
no subject
Got it. [ Shooting range. ...maybe the dojo too?
He feels kind of disappointed they're going to just get torn up, but he offered... ] I'll get started on them tomorrow. Expect to see them by... hopefully the end of the week? Assuming nothing comes up.

[That and try to find wall panels that actually do move. It's a good cover for checking them over more thoroughly during the day.]
no subject
Maybe it's because there's so much time? "I can do it later" again and again until there isn't any left. ] I don't know how much help I can be, but if you need any, let me know.

[Like murder. Mostly murder, then recovery, maybe a day or two of feeling normal, and then BAM! Murder.]
You don't gotta be any good at painting. Anything's better than concrete all day.

I'm a little on the short side, that's all. [ ...Sigrun keeps teasing him about it. He knows he's like, the shortest person still alive too. ...pretty sure. ] I don't know think I could reach the higher places, and I'm sure everyone'll have anything lower down covered, too.
