WEEK 9 For the first time since your stay in the Vault began, no one died this week. That doesn't mean there weren't casualties among you, however – namely, trust, interpersonal relationships, and comfort in the group dynamic as a whole. Hopefully no one else pays the price for it. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. You're safe for now – unless your dreams have told you otherwise... SURVIVORS REMAINING: 10

[Cherryblod's glad to see that the headphones are looking better when he enters the game room, but something else catches his attention.]

Tarot cards?

[He looks up and grins]

Well, playing cards, but yeah. Apparently modern cards are based on tarot?

[cherryblooded]

Didn't know that. Do you do readings?

[garudynamic]

Not exactly- but back home, our Persona apparently are connected to the major arcana. Like, I'm the Magician. So I read a little about it. Not enough to actually use them though so-

[He gestures to the book]

The Magician's a nice one. It's about taking action and focusing on a goal - knowing what you're doing and why, having power, that sort of thing. Suits you.

I only really know the major ones offhand, but you have a book, so I could probably do a reading for you if you like.

[garudynamic]

Whoa, really? That'd be really cool. Here, I marked all the cards and everything on this little paper.

[Cuz you can't expect Yosuke to memorize this shit, are you insane?]

[Got it. He gathers up the cards and hands them to Yosuke in one neat deck.]

Shuffle this for me and focus on the cards.

Hmmm, okay!

[He does a little bridge shuffle cuz he's a tryhard]

[Once he's done shuffling, Cherryblod deals out three cards - the one in the center first, then one on either side.

He takes a second to check what they are, then to flip through the book for meanings.]

Hm... Alright.

Three cards - the past, the present, and the future. A very simple layout.

Your past is represented by the Six of Wands - triumph, acclaim, pride. Getting what you want and feeling good about it, essentially - you achieved victory.

Your present, the Seven of Pentacles. Assessing your progress and considering a change of direction. Making sure you're on course, and being willing to change your strategy if you're not. It can also mean finally starting to see results.

Finally, for the future, the Page of Pentacles. Pages generally represent a young person - you, for instance. This Page suggests being practical and realistic, focusing on having a real effect. It's a card for being trustworthy - and trusting in others.

[Yosuke nods along, his face set and serious]

You know, I was kinda scared anything for the future would be.... bad.

[cherryblooded]

...I was too, a little. But this isn't a bad reading.

[garudynamic]

[He stares at the cards for a moment]

I talked to Black last night.

[It seems like a non-sequitur, but... maybe not]

[cherryblooded]

[It's really, really not.]

How did things go?

[garudynamic]

Better then I expected?

[His headphones are still on, still in the radio- and he fiddles with the nods to change the empty sound]

I'm... gonna end up forgiving him. But I dunno if it's for the right reasons.

[cherryblooded]

They're your reasons. So they aren't 'wrong', I would think.

[Is there a 'right' reason to forgive a traitor? Out of the pure goodness of your heart - are there even people like that in this world?]

[garudynamic]

I dunno... I want things back like they were. But that's not really possible, is it?

[cherryblooded]

...No. Things won't ever be exactly the way they were. They might be okay again - or good again, even, but they won't be the same.

[garudynamic]

[He nods sadly. He knows this- but the temptation to ignore it and pretend is strong.

Izanami was right about humans, at least a little. But he has to be stronger then that.]

We were almost talking like we used to, then just... this urge to snap at him again came back. Like I just want to make him hurt for all of this. Not... not like at the meeting-

[Don't worry Cherry, he's not going to end up in the pit]

-but to rub it in his face that things can't go back. I'm not sure WHAT I feel anymore. It can't be both.

Why not?

You can feel a lot of contradictory things at once, my dear. People are like that - they want it both ways. You want the relationship you had before this all happened, but at the same time, you want to make the person who hurt you hurt in return. Both are completely understandable.

[He moves around to the other side of the table so he can slide an arm around Yosuke's shoulders.]

Sometimes you do things that aren't the best idea, Yosuke, and sometimes you let your emotions get the better of you, but you're not a bad person for it. Don't ever start thinking that you are.

[garudynamic]

... you really think so?

[He doesn't think he's a bad person... but he wouldn't call himself a good person either. The meeting proved that.]

[A nod, as he considers what to say.]

I don't know what an orange soul means except that I share it with Sigrun, but I know it's not green. Kindness isn't my strongest suit - it didn't come naturally to me. I had to work at it. And I still have ugly thoughts that translate to ugly actions - you've held me back from some of those.

It's alright to be angry, and to be resentful. Those are both natural things. When it's hurting you more than it's hurting him, then it's time to let go, but for now it's something anyone would understand, and it doesn't make you bad.

You're a good person. I believe it with my whole heart.

[garudynamic]

Orange, huh? Man, I wish I had asked Mettaton more about how his world works when I had the chance.

[He puts his hand over his own chest, where that 'pretty purple soul' flutters.] I have no idea what purple is supposed to mean. But whatever orange is, I know it's good. I believe THAT with all mine.

[cherryblooded]

Oh really? You think that highly of Sigrun? I'll have to let her know.

[He's teasing. Mostly because it's simpler than arguing that he's not really a good person.]

Well Sigrun IS pretty amazing~
