Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

That's so much fondant. Is it possible to die from sugar overdose? Is he going to be the one to find out? What is with this robot and increasingly sweet things??
W...well... ]
You look like you're having fun. [ Making... whatever you're making... ] What's on the menu today?
no subject
[So if he sends you into a sugar coma and you die, is it murder if he didn't force-feed you and you volunteered- ]
I haven't decided what this is for yet, but that doesn't mean you can't help me with it.
no subject
Also, he made a bunch of fondant without a plan?? This is a big fondon't. ]
Sure. [ He's getting himself into such a world of trouble-- ] Do you have any ideas, at least?
no subject
a metric fuckton of fondant
you never know]
A few. Don't worry too much! Things will come together. They always do!
no subject
For better or for worse. [ HONESTLY... his optimism is stunning. please don't tell me they're going to make a cake out of fondant because that would be a mistake and you fucking know it. ] ...what can I help with, making sure you don't overdo it on the lavender?
[ And... vanilla... is this a soap-inspired sweet or something. ]
no subject
that is exactly what is happening here and you know it]
That would be appreciated! Sigrun seemed to take offense to it last time I made her anything like this.
[I MEAN IT WAS ALSO WAX, BUT]
no subject
If you put too much in, it gets really floral and practically inedible. [ ...even more practically inedible. ] I don't think Miss Sigrun's used to stuff like this either. She doesn't really seem the type.
[ ...it's girly as shit and Sigrun isn't girly at all. ]
Why these two flavors anyway? There's easier ones to work with. [ That won't make you feel like you're choking on flowers if you put in too much. ]
no subject
[You know, until tomorrow when somebody probably ends up hella dead.]
no subject
Discovering the wonders of cinnamon might've been better. [ ...anyway, yes, let him join Mettaton over there and... hm... ] What about a cake?
no subject
[...This one won't end in chainsaw, at least.
...please stop him from making this thing entirely out of fondant]
no subject
MILK, EGGS, FLOUR, BUTTER... ...BAKING POWDER. Okay. He can do this. He helped his mom make cakes! ...sort of! This'll be fine. Cakes are easy. ]
How do you usually make them?
no subject
[HE'S STILL SO BITTER ABOUT THE COLD THINGS, BLACK.]
There's also usually a lot more spectacle when I do it, but that's probably expected.
no subject
You're usually performing for an audience, right? I'm not surprised at all. [ Hum hum hum... ] Your food never goes bad if it's magical, does it? ...does it get stale and taste weird if you leave it too long?
no subject
[...possibly the fact that this is a lot of fondant, mettaton- ]
no subject
[ Real Food is so awful, Mettaton. 0/10. ]
no subject
[...Why does it all suck so bad, Black.]
no subject
[ ...this is so not cake-making conversation. ]
Some people even eat rotten fish--that's Swedish, I think. Norwegians--what Miss Sigrun is--have a fermented fish dish that's supposed to smell pretty horrible. [ ...and then there's like, infected corn and shark and look let's just not get too far into all the gross stuff humans go "yes, this is delicious, I'm going to consume it and share it with others" at. ]
But it's mostly just eaten fresh, so you don't have to worry about the taste... though day-old bread makes the best french toast.
no subject
Sweetheart, how have you all not just died out...
no subject
[ Or... something...??? ]
I'm not really sure, to be honest, but we're all thriving. [ Some...how.... ] Beyondians eat weirder things though, like live pixie soup and face-biter stew. Their physiology tends to be a lot different than ours, so I guess that's understandable, but there are humans that go to those restaurants and have no problem sampling the food.

[what the actual fuck is a beyondian]
Monsters of some sort, I'm assuming.
no subject
[ ... ]
But they're... not human, yes. They're what populates the Alterworld, a world parallel to the one I come from. I won't bore you with the detail, but the long story short is that they're the majority of the population after what happened three years ago, and as a result their culture's sort of taken over the rest of the city.
I don't mind--I think they're interesting, and I work with a few that're the equivalent to our world's Casters--but a lot of people do. Especially big franchises that used to be popular; most of them moved out as soon as they realized the new populace was here to stay, and a lot of Beyondian eateries popped up in their place.
[ ...so. ]
no subject
Monsters are just nonhuman people, darling. At least where I'm from! There's nothing bad meant by it, anyway - after all, I'm one myself, and so is my creator and everyone else I know.
[...seriously, people here like to tell him not to talk like that sometimes? It's very confusing.]
I'm not surprised relations between them and humans isn't the greatest, though. That...tends to happen? At least one person I know seems to think that it's going to happen when we leave the Underground, too.
no subject
...it has poorer connotations back in his world but he's not gonna sweat it if Mettaton's not gonna. ]
It probably will. Humans aren't the most forgiving--we even shun our own kind if they're not up to society's standards. [ It's pretty awful. ] There's more Beyondians than there are humans now, and nothing can get through the fog unless it goes by land... so humanity's stuck having to deal with it instead of getting rid of them like they'd usually try.
