WEEK 9 For the first time since your stay in the Vault began, no one died this week. That doesn't mean there weren't casualties among you, however – namely, trust, interpersonal relationships, and comfort in the group dynamic as a whole. Hopefully no one else pays the price for it. his name's mettaton and his title was bombastic
i learned lately that it's not actually as nice as it sounds, but i'm still taking it as that he was an explosive kind of person

better than being meaningless or whatever

because he isn't going to be with the rest of them

i have letters full of things i'd say to him
i'm not really good at letters and i hate writing but i did it to help clear my mind
he used to do the same thing
or tried to, anyway
turns out he wasn't very good at doing letters either

i just don't know what i'd say first
i think the most important thing is that he's welcome to come home with me if he still wants to, since i regret telling him he wasn't allowed to after he came out about his kill switch thing
we have a mountain to climb and stars to see and fancy places for me to be uncomfortable at

but i don't think he was a bad person, exactly
even if he wasn't a good person either

PEOPLE LIKE METTATON AND MISA AMANE ARE BAD PEOPLE.
PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL OTHERS JUST BECAUSE THEY WANT TO.

[Sigrun's more than a little pained to see both those names up there like that, plus that reasoning, because... well, she can't deny that it isn't true. They are bad people for thinking that way.

She keeps to squiggles for a little bit before she finally writes.]

i don't really have an answer to that
because you're right that people who think that way are bad
but i still don't really want to say that either of them are bad people at the same time
mostly because i have good memories with them both

misa did a fancy dinner for me and mettaton
she really helped me a lot with trying to figure out how i felt about him too
and helped me understand what you do about dating and stuff
a lot of her advice really sucked for us though
her mask party was fun

i think so too
and even if they're bad people they're still important to me
i won't say they're good people, but i think they did their best at what they thought was right
just like me
even if their thoughts are different

maybe it's just a thing for me
but in the end mettaton's kill switch thing was just a job for him, i think
i don't know if he could back out of it or not without risking lives anyway
it might just be me trying to reason with stuff though
he really really really wanted to come home with me and see all the things i talked about
he liked hearing my stories a lot
and a lot of things i did for him too
he told me once he wasn't performing around me, and at the trial he said he'd been serious about that too, and i even asked km about some things about what mettaton said about me and he hadn't been performing around me for a while, apparently
so i guess that's also why i can't think of him completely as a bad person
it's stupid i know
