WEEK 9 For the first time since your stay in the Vault began, no one died this week. That doesn't mean there weren't casualties among you, however – namely, trust, interpersonal relationships, and comfort in the group dynamic as a whole. Hopefully no one else pays the price for it. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. You're safe for now – unless your dreams have told you otherwise... SURVIVORS REMAINING: 10

That is what Mouri is doing. So there he is in the kitchen, and he is...sliding one of those key cards he found through any slit he can find, as if he expects some part to work and reveal something. He is also examining every inch of every single object in there.

[Cherryblod finds Mouri in the kitchen in the morning, and watches his trials for just a second.

The leader voting sheet has already disappeared, never to be seen again.]

Having any luck, detective?

No luck at all. I thought the secret corridor could be in here because it's the only area we aren't allowed in after a certain hour, but I haven't found anything yet.

Was a thought, anyway. Still not sure why the defense is necessary, but I'm not looking to injure myself with a door.

[He's already injured enough - bruised shoulder.]

Like a certain someone did? I still can't believe that happened.

[Mouri isn't going to let Sigrun live that down]

At this rate she is going to be right and the corridor will be behind the vending machine. The problem is to get the machine out of the way.

Have you tried moving that thing? It's heavy. Destroying it doesn't work either.

...did someone already try destroying it?

[Why did nobody notify him about that? He hopes a bomb wasn't used because that'd be a terrible idea]

[...hello, Mouri, Bruce is just here to make pancakes for later.

Where had you found the white key cards, again?

[Bruce pauses in his collection of pancake ingredients when Mouri asks him that question, and there's only a brief pause before he responds.]

The office on the seventh floor.

The office, the art room and the conference room...

[Mouri takes out something he drew in his sketchbook. Seems to be maps of all seventh floors. He takes a look at the maps, marking one empty area]

I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but the art room's size fits perfectly in the empty space between the conference room and the office. Maybe that space in the seventh floor is not so empty after all.

[Kind of a long stretch but it could work, right?]

The problem would be to open a way into that area, if it exists.

[Bruce does catch a glimpse of the maps drawn, giving a small nod himself to Mouri's conclusion. It does seem fairly reasonable, even if its a bit of a stretch. Never hurts to try, as long as they don't attempt anything foolish.]

We can try to find it later. [After the meeting, that is. Because it still is going to be a thing despite... what happened.] Another look through never hurt. We could find something else, even if its not something we expected.

Nothing we have found is what we have expected. Ghosts, moving rooms, a freaking bowling alley in the seventh floor...

We can't have much time left. If we don't find anything before the week ends I don't think we'll survive.

[Sooner or later the Kingmaker or Ambitious will do something and it'll be the end of all them. Mouri is getting kind of desperate, to be honest]

[Gabriel watches him for a while, quiet.]

You findin' anything?

Nothing. Maybe the secret corridor isn't here in the kitchen. I don't get it, this seemed like the most likely place!

The kitchen? Wasn't the place he was watching us on the second floor? Might be best to look there for clues there instead.

Glory told me there's a corridor hidden somewhere in the first floor, and this kitchen seemed the most logical place for it. It's true in the second floor there's a surveillance room, but a corridor can be more useful...mainly because of the possibility it could lead out.

Why'd you think the kitchen's the most likely place?

Because it's the only place we can't enter after a certain hour.

[What if that is because the Kingmaker is here? It doesn't seem very unlikely now!]

Do you know any more about how those things work than I do? Because I don't think they go in toasters.

It's pretty basic: slide and something happens.

And just so you know a toaster would be a clever place to hide where I should slide these cards in.

[...yeah, Mouri is getting desperate. Don't judge him for sticking key cards into toasters, at least he unplugged it before putting the cards in]

If it opens a hidden room, we oughta try searchin' around the empty areas. Y'know, where there's space. Yosuke has that map, right?

He does?

[Well that is news for him. Mouri has his own maps and all, but maybe Yosuke has something Mouri doesn't]

Huh. That could work if one were looking for hidden rooms, but since what I'm looking for is a hidden corridor I think it'd extend beyond the boundaries of the map. And what better place for it than the room we can't enter after a certain hour?

What makes you think it's for a hallway?

Uuuuh...I thought the word 'corridor' meant it was a hallway...

Could I really be wrong? Did something go wrong in whatever magical translation is filling this place?

[To Mouri that is perfectly possible. English and Japanese are pretty different]
