Week 9.

WEEK 9 For the first time since your stay in the Vault began, no one died this week. That doesn't mean there weren't casualties among you, however – namely, trust, interpersonal relationships, and comfort in the group dynamic as a whole. Hopefully no one else pays the price for it. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. You're safe for now – unless your dreams have told you otherwise... SURVIVORS REMAINING: 10

Anyways, I found something in the game room I wanted to ask you about. Does the name Hilda mean anything to you?

HILDA? YES.
SHE WAS MY FRIEND.
AND ALSO A BAD PERSON.
WHERE DID YOU FIND HER NAME?

[He takes a moment to doodle the shape of the pendent, with the H on it]

On a character sheet for one of the tabletop games. We found a pendent too that I'm guessing was hers.

IT LOOKS LIKE HERS. FROM THE DRAWING, ANYWAY.

There was a note inside to- about someone 'deserving it?' I can't remember EXACTLY what it said though, but I can ask Speedwagon if you want the details

I guess I can't judge that, after all the people I've met here.

I'VE MADE A FEW QUESTIONABLE FRIENDS.

I'm not exactly innocent myself anyways. I'm guessing Black told you what happened?

HE TOLD ME ABOUT HIS POOR LIFE CHOICES.

Is that how he worded it? I'm not even surprised

[He literally laughed aloud, not that Glory can hear it]

I didn't take it well.

[He pauses, swoops and swirls... then doodles a knife]

I was lucky that I'm impulsive and tried it RIGHT in front of everyone instead of waiting. Or we'd both be dead

THAT'S HOW HE WORDED IT, YES.
WHY DID YOU DO THAT, THOUGH?

[He doesn't respond right away, though there's specks and flecks on the board- him tapping it with the chalk]

I wasn't trying to escape or anything.
I just wanted to hurt him for what he did.

[A few more taps... even though everyone knows in the Vault, it's still hard to talk about. A lifetime of fear is not so easy to discard]

He kissed me the night before.

SO IT WAS THE BETRAYAL OF IT, THEN?

Yeah.
I mean he betrayed all of us. That SHOULD be the worst part?
But that made it personal and I just kinda snapped. It was really stupid and I'm glad I failed.

[trustharder]

Yeah? I mean, we don't know each other really well yet- but you've helped us a lot and I like talking to you.

So yeah, I do.

People keep saying that. IDK if I 100% believe it, but thank you.

[He adds to the stars]

Oh, one quick thing before I go: did you play that game with Hilda too?

[Did you try and dump Cha, Glory?]

I DIDN'T.
HILDA USED TO PLAY SOMETIMES, THOUGH.
SHE LIKED IT A LOT.
SHE DIDN'T REALLY PLAY HERE, BUT SHE LIKED FILLING OUT CHARACTER SHEETS.

We're gonna try and play though idk how well that's gonna go.
