Final Investigation.
| You've all done very well to make it this far, but it's not over yet. The klaxons blare out today, as they always do – there's no reason they should do any differently, not least of which because it's a Thursday; strange things usually don't happen around here until Fridays, and there's no reason to think that today will be any different. But as soon as you awaken and get a glimpse of what's happening down that first-floor corridor, it becomes very apparent that that's far from the case. The usual rooms on the eastern wing of the first floor are gone entirely, replaced by more of that glossy black that coats the courtroom; it's a little vertigo-inspiring at first, but it's not dangerous. Of more interest, then, is probably those three rooms that seem to be waiting for you – one to the north, two to the south. Choose where you're going to go. Look around for a while. What else are you going to do, after all? >Explore? |
[OOC: Welcome to the final investigation! The areas blocked off in rooms 2 and 3 will require card keys to open; otherwise, you are free to investigate at your leisure!
Remember, we need 15 comments total from each of you on this log somewhere!]

Miss Sigrun, if you wouldn't mind stepping back—it might be good for you. [ Said as gently as possible. He... knows isn't easy for her right now, not with how much she liked Glory.
So. Speaking of Glory. Or to Glory, rather: ] If you're helping the Kingmaker run his game right now, why are you helping us try to win against him?

BESIDES, KINGMAKER WANTS THE GAME TO BE OVER.
no subject
Over for good, or just this iteration?
7
KINGMAKER DOESN'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS BEYOND THAT.
no subject
We can't all become kings, though. [ ........he'll shake his head, they're dwindling on questions and they need to focus. ]
What's in the other rooms? The ones that Mr. Cherryblod's and Mr. Banner's teams went into.
6
THE OTHER ROOM ON THE SOUTHERN SIDE CONTAINS WHAT USED TO BE A LIBRARY. NOW IT'S JUST A ROOM. KINGMAKER GOES IN THERE SOMETIMES.
no subject
Why does he? [ ....GOD THEY'RE RUNNING OUT OF QUESTIONS ANd no look maybe this could be important. Ugh. ]

ITEMS THAT USED TO BELONG TO PEOPLE.

[ A soft sigh. What else... ]
...are you tired of games like this, Glory?

I AM HERE TO HELP RUN THEM. IT WOULD BE BAD FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO GET TIRED OF THEM.
no subject
That doesn't mean you can't get tired of them all the same. AIs are supposed to be able to evolve and eventually form their own thoughts and feelings. Or so it goes in science-fiction. [ Movies aren't always real, etc etc. Okay.
...so they've covered a good bit of everything, what would everyone else want to... ]
We received pictures of what looked like another Vault, with people who were important to us in some way there. [ He's drawing swirls in his notebook instead, since he can't do it on the board. ] Were those real, or were they photoshopped? Er. Created.

OTHER VAULTS EXIST.
BUT THAT SPECIFIC CONFIGURATION IS NOT ONE THAT CURRENTLY EXISTS.

Lovely, White isn't getting swept off her feet by Yosuke's friends. Do you know why we were missing memories when we first arrived?

[ ...he needs to know if he has a world to go back to to tell everyone about how he was drugged and shoved into a murder game, all right. ]

IT'S POSSIBLE THAT SOMETHING DESTROYED THEM IN THE INTERIM, BUT IF THEY WERE NOT GOING TO BE DESTROYED ANYWAY CHANCES ARE THAT THEY'RE FINE.
no subject
And last question. ...better make it good. ]
Would you consider us friends? [ ... ] All of us with you. Not just you and I, Glory.

YOU ARE ALL GOOD PEOPLE.
GOOD LUCK, BLACK.
[And it looks like that is going to be all; no further responses from here on out.]

[ ...whether or not Glory's going to be responding, it's only polite to, and after a moment more of making sure they're not going to reply he heads over to Sigrun and leans against her. ]
I think we're done here, Miss Sigrun. [ ...are they going to be able to do this...? ] I'm sorry that you're three for three on people you like being fake somehow.

Mouri and Speedy'll tell you what happened in the room back there, too, but... I can tell you a few things. So you can write it down right now.
[Business. She's tired of feeling like this.]
It was like our trial room. There's a podium there, too, and... I don't know there was anything more to it, but the screen that it was on when I stood at it had a list of everyone's titles including the Kingmaker's, and "Alive" beneath them. When you clicked one of the titles, a... hologram would appear in the center. The person you'd chose.
But it wouldn't really be them. It'd kind of be them, but... it was more like how things are in the pit. It's them, but with an intent to really kill you.
[Sigrun pauses there, lets Black recognize the Mettaton she'd seen then, and then continues.]
But their attacks wouldn't do anything. It's just showing what would happen.
no subject
...no we're not doing business, Sigrun, fuck that. ] Are you going to be okay?
no subject
I don't have time not to be okay.

A good question. That depends on what happens, doesn't it? If they ever even win the game. There's a lot of ways to win it, apparently, and only one Sigrun knows of herself: killing someone and deceiving the rest.
But she'd never do that. Not now. Maybe earlier, if the incentive had been nice enough, if she didn't have people to protect and souls to lay to rest. She brings her hands up and cups her chin, blowing out.]
What would you do?

It really sucks that someone she felt so connected to, once again, wasn't who she thought they were. Three for three now.]
