Final Investigation.

You've all done very well to make it this far, but it's not over yet.

The klaxons blare out today, as they always do – there's no reason they should do any differently, not least of which because it's a Thursday; strange things usually don't happen around here until Fridays, and there's no reason to think that today will be any different.

But as soon as you awaken and get a glimpse of what's happening down that first-floor corridor, it becomes very apparent that that's far from the case.

The usual rooms on the eastern wing of the first floor are gone entirely, replaced by more of that glossy black that coats the courtroom; it's a little vertigo-inspiring at first, but it's not dangerous.

Of more interest, then, is probably those three rooms that seem to be waiting for you – one to the north, two to the south.

Choose where you're going to go. Look around for a while.

What else are you going to do, after all?

[ ...whether or not Glory's going to be responding, it's only polite to, and after a moment more of making sure they're not going to reply he heads over to Sigrun and leans against her. ]

I think we're done here, Miss Sigrun. [ ...are they going to be able to do this...? ] I'm sorry that you're three for three on people you like being fake somehow.

[A soft groan before she sits up more, taking Black's hand and making him sit beside her instead of leaning against her.]

Mouri and Speedy'll tell you what happened in the room back there, too, but... I can tell you a few things. So you can write it down right now.

[Business. She's tired of feeling like this.]

It was like our trial room. There's a podium there, too, and... I don't know there was anything more to it, but the screen that it was on when I stood at it had a list of everyone's titles including the Kingmaker's, and "Alive" beneath them. When you clicked one of the titles, a... hologram would appear in the center. The person you'd chose.

But it wouldn't really be them. It'd kind of be them, but... it was more like how things are in the pit. It's them, but with an intent to really kill you.

[Sigrun pauses there, lets Black recognize the Mettaton she'd seen then, and then continues.]

But their attacks wouldn't do anything. It's just showing what would happen.

Like a simulation... [ But those aren't mere holograms in the pit—he hums, tapping his pencil on his paper after he finishes a sentence.

...no we're not doing business, Sigrun, fuck that. ] Are you going to be okay?

[She glances aside at him, then turns her gaze forward, playing with the hem of her dress idly. It's weird not having a shirt to do this with... but it'll do.]

I don't have time not to be okay.

After this is over you will, though. [ He glances at her too, but never turns away. ] What'll you do?

A good question. That depends on what happens, doesn't it? If they ever even win the game. There's a lot of ways to win it, apparently, and only one Sigrun knows of herself: killing someone and deceiving the rest.

But she'd never do that. Not now. Maybe earlier, if the incentive had been nice enough, if she didn't have people to protect and souls to lay to rest. She brings her hands up and cups her chin, blowing out.]
