The past five days have come and gone, though exactly how easily they've done so is debatable; some have been trying to press onward in their optimism and faith that things will get better, while some seem convinced that things will only go downhill from here. However people have chosen to see it, though, clearly this week hasn't been all bad – after all, attempts at encouraging unity among the group seem to have been at least reasonably successful. ...Seem to have been. Friday dawns like the rest of the week before it – the clock chimes the hour at seven, the doors to the kitchen and the mail room unlock, and the building is quiet. It would seem that maybe the night passed reasonably quietly – were it not for the large red smears on the walls and floor of the southeastern side of the dormitory. It looks like somebody decided to be a damn overachiever and took some initiative of their own. >Explore?

[Judy can't bring herself to go into Adelina's room, and there are enough people checking there as it is. So, whether Nick follows her or not, she's going to look for evidence. Carefully.

Where should we start, here? Is there only blood stains, or is there something else of note she should look at?]

[The first thing to note is that the blood stains... aren't really blood.]

[While he's technically a healer, Christo's not the best equipped for diagnostics - best to let someone else handle that. He steps back outside the room, and decides to examine the stains more closely.

They don't smell like rust, apparently, so what do they smell like?]

[That's the strange thing, actually. Despite being red and looking kind of like blood, they don't smell like blood. They're a little sweeter, perhaps? It's kind of hard to tell exactly what they are, but they're not blood.]

...If the ketchup theory is actually correct, that will just make this day even better.

All right: patterns. Is it more of a splatter pattern, like someone just threw a bunch of not-blood at the wall and called it Modern Art, or is it more of a solid stripe, or something else?]

[There's a good amount of it on the door to Adelina's room, though it's not in a splatter pattern, exactly. More like something slammed into it. There's also a trail of the red stuff leading down the hallway... but it abruptly ends further away.]

[Well, that's interesting.

Just so I can get a better mental picture, by "a good amount", do we mean 'most of the door has this red stuff on it' or 'yeah I guess something bigger than a breadbox that had red stuff on it hit it'? Since, there are a lot of somethings that could potentially slam into a door.

Especially during a murder. People kill other people in weird ways.]

[Not at all, go right ahead.]

No fingerprints or handprints, but the footprints might be useful.

Footprints? Those would be more than just a little useful, yeah.

[Time to go check those out, then. She'll leave Christo to the not-blood examining.]

[ She can't handle being in Adelina's room right now. After calming down and hearing the Wordsmith's announcement, Orihime heads out into the hallway to try and piece things together as best as she can.

Do the smears have any fingerprints or handprints on them at all?

[A pretty good guess, but unfortunately there don't seem to be any finger or handprints anywhere.

There are footprints, however! Most of them seem to be from a pair of boots... but there's one other one.]

[ So these are the smears on the floor, then? Unless someone walked on the walls because what is logic, but.

What is the other footprint? ]

Looks like whoever did this didn't cover their tracks.

[The other footprint is really only half a footprint and smudged, so it's difficult to get an idea of exactly what shoe it came from. With that said, it isn't the same as the boots and it looks a bit smaller.]

[Well Nick ain't sleeping so he's going to follow Judy's example and look over the hallway. Everyone's pretty much got the blood covered so you know what Nick's gonna do?

He's gonna go around pulling on doors to see if there are any others loose, just in case someone might've stashed evidence somewhere or something.]

[A good idea! Unfortunately, the doors are all locked. Unless one of you guys forgot to lock your doors, but that isn't evidence for the investigation, so!! You're welcome to barge in on Guzma or some other poor unfortunate soul if you feel like it!!]

But no, he'll pretty much give up one the rooms around her because really, who would take evidence alllll the way across the hall, right?

[Actually, there is! While Nick's looking around, he might spy something shiny on the floor.]

[Alright, once...all of that is taken care of, there's no time to waste. They're finding who did this to Adelina, and that is that.

Lusamine sees that the others have the 'blood' taken care of, so she's going to continue down the hallway--is there anything to note while going down?]

[There is, yes! Along the wall you might notice a strange mark. It looks like a gash instead of graffiti or something.]

[Well now, this is certainly interesting.

Lusamine's definitely taking a closer look at that. How big is it? Is it like a claw marking, or is it something singular?]

[It's definitely not a claw mark, but it is kind of similar. It's not very long either, about an inch or so. More pressing is the height - it's actually about on eye level with you.]
